To give you an idea of the situation: imagine budgeting $16k for a project. You meet with them, they walk the site, review the plans, and enthusiastically agree to the price to "earn your business." However, two weeks after signing the contract and handing over a deposit, they suddenly claimed the project would now cost $29K. My key Issues: Bait-and-Switch Pricing: The final quote was more than double the original agreed-upon price with vague and VERY inconsistent reasoning. Vanishing Deposit: When I chose to cancel due to the massive price hike, they claimed my entire deposit had already been "used up" on excavation. Lack of Integrity: They committed to a budget just to get the signature, only to move the goalposts immediately after. We are currently pursuing legal action to address these practices. This company is simply not worth the stress or the financial risk. I met many reputable masonry and concrete companies during my bidding phase--I strongly suggest you look elsewhere, you've been warned.

This caused drainage issues. They removed the old porch, put in a new footing then replaced the porch. The new porch is now solid and looks wonderful. In addition, they removed the incorrectly sloped driveway and back patio and installed new. Mr White and his crew were great to work with and did a great job. They went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the project. I am very happy with quality of workmanship. If I need any masonry or concrete work done in the future Mr. White will be first person I will call.

They replaced a badly weathered wooden deck and stairs at the back of my house with a beautiful deck and stairs made of composite material with aluminum railings. They also replaced the wooden fence (also badly weathered) surrounding the HVAC units on the side of house with vinyl fencing. I contacted Upward along with several other firms, and the owner (Tim Jones) got back to me by phone within a day and talked through the job. He then visited the site (I was away from the house) and within a few days, sent me a very detailed estimate that explained exactly the work that needed to be done. I then met Tim at my house, and he answered all of my questions and discussed options. Tim and team were ready to start the job in a couple of weeks and did a really great job. They prepared the steps and not surprisingly, discovered a lot of wood rot underneath; they completely rebuilt the structure underneath at an additional (but reasonable) cost. The crew was great. They showed up on time, were very courteous, and were very careful in their work, always cleaning up the job site at the end of the day, with a thorough cleaning when the job was done. The final result is just BEAUTIFUL and so much nicer than what was there before and should be pretty much maintenance free.
