The collection service was good and the cars were also good, but unfortunately my experience was…read moreruined by what happened afterwards. I was charged a significant amount for damage to an alloy wheel that was already present when I collected the vehicle. I raised this with the employee at the branch and was told that a refund would be issued. Weeks later, I still have not received the refund. I contacted Avis customer service and was then told that there is no record of any refund having been initiated. Being charged for pre-existing damage is bad enough, but being told by a member of staff that the charge would be refunded and then discovering weeks later that no refund was even processed has caused me to lose trust in Avis. I now will probably have to travel back to the Liverpool branch simply to discuss and resolve a problem that should already have been dealt with. It is a shame because the collection process and the vehicle itself were both good, but after this experience I would be very reluctant to use Avis again.

I ordered the Polo GTI and their website said it came with all the bells and whistles (in particular parking sensors which was a big thing for me)...but it arrived with nothing. On the website it clearly said parking sensors were included (I have screen shots) but when Chris sent me the order form it clearly stated ''no extra's included''. I confronted Chris about this and his reply was ''The extras you stated are standard on the GTI model therefor it won't state extra's''......but they are not!! When we confronted Chris after the car was delivered his response was ''it says no extra's on the form''. Basically Chris lied to get a deal across line...well done Chris. We probably have a case of legal action but frankly I can't be bothered to waste my time and energy on lying cretins like this. In short, if you chose to deal with this company then read all of the fine print and don't trust anything they say. To clarify, it was a chap called Chris Hare. Judging by the type of company this is he'll probably get a few ''high fives'' for this review...you can almost hear the ''you screwed someone else over to get a deal, great work!''.

We rented the car from…read morePreston for a weekend trip up to Edinburgh and were issued a parking fine, which we ourselves paid off immediately online. However few months later we get letters from Thrifty/Scot Group Ltd, regarding payment of ADMINISTRATION CHARGES for that fine, which turned out to be even more expensive than the fine itself. They've even THREATENED us by saying they would get their lawyers involved. I soon realized that the internet is full of these exact complains, wherein these administration charges have been deducted off customer's cards without their notice and without any formal proceedings. Luckily in my case since my card got misplaced a few weeks later and was replaced they were unable to do so. They are not much far off from a Cash collecting and arm twisting loan shark company, so be warned.
