    After 16 years of using CALWater, It definitely gets mixed review from me. It apparently is the…read moremost expensive in the state and Lucerne is the poorest area in the state. I have found the employees to be very polite and helpful. When I was away overnight volunteering at a Red Cross shelter, my drip system was left on. The office called me and sent a technician to check what the problem was. My bill that month was $700.00 and since I knew that it was my fault, I paid it since I was able to. I am annoyed today because I have no water and no warning. I called and the polite gentleman explained that they had an extended leak and had to shut it down. He said that they are notifying customers now. He apologized nicely. I believe that the biggest problem with privately owned utilities which have to make a profit. There are functions which should be operated by government entities, special districts, municipalities, etc. Such entities charge what the product cost to produce and to cover the overhead. With products and services such as water, power, roads, armies, police, fire protection, and bridges, I can't afford them on my own. I expect that they are paid for with my various taxes. I don't like paying all the tax I do but it is the price we all have to share for the common good. Our taxes in the USA are less than in most developed countries.

People in need to get together and petition to sue and get them out of Lucerne and the Redwood Valley. There is a saying in France "DO POLITICS, OR POLITICS WILL DO YOU". ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. And the water from the Lake in July and August smells a little creeky which means they aren't treating it enough.
