I called, and they said it would probably be six months before I could get in. I said no problem. They called back the next day with a cancellation, and I was able to get in on that Friday. I met with Benson, a very nice and caring person, and explained how the procedure would go. I went once a week for six weeks. Then I had to travel, so I was away also; I had used up what insurance would cover. He made some good suggestions which I implemented, but probably the best thing I did was the week-long vacation that I stayed off it. It still bothers me from time to time, but I have ways of making it work. The place they have their services in is a one-hundred-year-old building, which is charming but has uneven floors if that is a concern of yours. Also, I tried to never use the restroom facilities there, as the sink was lined with dirt and the toilet wasn't much better. They have a lot of people still masking (which is fine; I totally understand that), but they apparently aren't concerned with the dirt you can see. One oddity I observed was that the needles were put in my hand, but as I was lying on the table, Benson would use my stomach as a place to hold his supplies until he needed them. Do you know how awkward it is to have someone grab things off of your stomach to use in a procedure? I probably should have said something, but I thought it was a one-off until it happened again. So, the procedures themselves were good but probably need to fine-tune a few things.

I couldn't walk unaided on the first visit inside the clinic (Appts on Saturday in Salem). I'm already thinking it might be time to start my daily exercise program now. I suffered a severe injury to my left hand (my dominant hand) in 2018 that involved a double tendon repair and months of Occupational Therapy. I was still left with fairly constant pain, even though my recovery was one of the best my hand surgeon had seen. There were adhesions in the scar that eventually caused the constant pain to spread up my arm and into my left shoulder. After seeing Bryce, I feel like I have my life back. Not only did Bryce manage to do what no doctor had been able to do- get the muscle spasms in my back/neck to stop, and do it without any medications- he got my migraines down to once a month or less from multiple times per week. You can tell a lot about a business by the way they address their mistakes. Lilac Wellness and Counseling offers a wide variety of services. I went in for cupping, acupuncture and a massage. After I sat down, he took my pulse and asked a few questions to clarify my responses on the intake form. And inquired any areas of concern I had, I said 'hormonal acne, left side of my neck is tight and right erector muscle' Then he left the room, I undressed to my level of comfort (I'm a massage therapist, so I'm super comfortable in this setting), placed my jewelry in the bowl provided and got on the massage table, under the flat sheet. During the treatment I was gently mesmerized by the music and felt a release in my left levator scapulae ( back neck muscle) as he needled it. He addressed my other concerns too and responded with a thorough answer when I asked what a certain point was for, or when I asked for the music to be a bit quieter he happily obliged. By the end I was drifting in parasympathetic mode aka 'rest and digest'. Very calm and peaceful place for your nervous system to switch into to heal and realign itself. It's discourteous and careless to treat patients in that manner. This is not managed-care or an HMO, so there is no excuse other than poor time management for this kind of behavior.
