I also thought Subway would be safe. There were three people ahead of me, so I figured it would be quick. For the fast casual segment of the market, it was casual but not fast. Between the indecision of the people ahead of me and the one person making sandwiches working rather slowly, it took a long time to get my sandwiches. What I got was pretty good with none of the problems others had. The staff seemed nice as I was waiting. I didn't get sick, and that's all that mattered. read more

gross subway..REALLY dirty..and the kid who helped me was a dickhole (i'd probably be a dick too if i worked at a gas station subway and lived in garberville) luckily i bought an actual avocado before hand to make my veggie sandwich edible. dude bitched about the extra jalapenos and honey mustard i asked for on the side and didn't put half of what i asked for on the sandwich. also, they were out of half the shit there, my friend ordered three times before they actually had something she wanted. it wasn't even 2 oclock and they only had 2 types of bread left, 1 if you wanted a footlong. also, i'm pretty sure i was overcharged. hate giving bad reviews, but this shit was wack. if it was just filthy and out of stock i wouldn't bother, but if your store is dirty/empty AND you're a prick to me then ima have to yelp it read more

Disgusting, slow, terrible service. Flies were everywhere, old sandwich papers were piling up on the bar, the knives they used were dirty, the bread was basically air, the tuna tasted old, they were out of cucumbers, the spinach was wet and crumpled, and they were super stingy on all the veggies! I hardly had anything on my sandwich when she was done with it, which took like 10 min the two tables there were dirty and had puddles in the seats but we couldn't eat while driving so we had to stay there. While we ate we heard the employees shouting at each other, gossiping about other people in the town, and talking about getting new jobs. They were all too busy blabbing that they had no time to help the other three people in line behind us. Fingers crossed we don't get sick off the sandwiches. read more

While traveling we thought, "Subway will be safe" while looking for a quick grab and go lunch. We were wrong. I SAW date expired product come out and she tried to put it on our sandwich! It was SO dirty and a random street clothed people walking around behind he counter. Keep driving, you'll be glad you did! read more

Horrible, dirty. Dead flys everywhere, under portioned, under warmed, less than friendly staff. If you must eat at a gas station try aztec grill down the street in Chevron. Won't be coming back here. read more

I'm going to have to agree with the other review on this place. It was such a DUMP! While we were on our way to our second pit stop during our drive to Seattle, we were absolutely starved and wanted to eat something that was just slightly better for you than your typical fast food joints. Lo and behold this Subway popped up along the way. When we came in there was this crazy old lady working there. Since both my husband and I were getting pretty much the same thing, we ordered them at the same time. However, Crazy Old Lady decided she was going to ask us if we wanted each and every condiment along the line... ONE AT A TIME. After a few minutes of arguing with her that we only wanted olives on our sandwiches, we finally got our sandwiches. You don't pay at the Subway counter, you pay at the gas station counter. This was a very strange place, and I would like to avoid it if at all possible. read more

My advice to you: Avoid Garberville like the plague. We actually didn't have as bad of an experience as previous reviewers--the women working behind the counter were pleasant and competent and looked clean--but the location of this Subway is really unfortunate. And by that I mean it's not only located in a gas station, but in Garberville. My husband and I were afraid to leave our vehicle parked on the street for very long--luckily it was in plain sight the whole time--and we also didn't want to risk walking around the main street, especially after we saw all the transients and vagrants congregating in front of shops. So after we bought our food--at the gas station--we got the hell out of town and drove a few miles south on 101 till we found a day use recreation area. We actually had quite a nice picnic, and the sandwiches tasted like they could have come from any Subway, but it made me queasy just thinking about where they did come from. So when you reach Garberville, keep driving. read more

Ugh. First off, the restroom has a broken sink, a terrible smell, and a barely functional toilet. Waiting for checkout was by far the most of a hassle. While waiting to buy some snacks, the lady behind the counter was over at the crappy SubWay area joking around (lamely I might add) with a customer, NEGLECTING OTHER CONSUMERS. The only reason for the two star rating is because the snacks are efficient enough. Trust me, I am being VERY generous. Do NOT recommend. read more

How can you go wrong with a Subway sandwich??? YUCK. First of all there is NO place to park.. so you'll hike to the shop.... Bread was stale, tables and floors filthy. The drink dispenser must not have been sanitized in years as the drink tasted of MOLD. Nasty stuff. Should have driven on to Fortuna before stopping to eat. Won't do that again. Little lady behind the counter is very nice. The vato tall kid making sandwiches is the rudest SOB. I asked for a tuna sandwich with mayo. The guy was so out of it and slopped everything together. I asked for mayo on the bread before the tuna and the guy shakes his head and exhales like it's so hard to do. One of the prices of bread the mayo was on the crust side. So at this point I'm questioning this sandwich. So for the tuna, ur supposed to get 4 or 5 scoops. The guy takes 3 scoops and spreads it with the nasty scooper. So at this point I say " no thanks man, that doesn't look very appetizing but thanks for your time. THE DUDE TELLS ME " ya well F... u to MF'er next time stay F home you little b!tc. I couldn't believe my ears!!! Since the kid was obviously a gang banger I had NO response and walked out and pumped my gas. When I walked in for my change the guy came outside and just stared me down and talked more disrespectful crap. I complained to the store clerk and left. Don't anyone ever go here.
