While reviewing…read morethe existing plumbing Matt discovered a couple of MAJOR issues that we weren't aware of because they were out of sight. Our tub drain under the house was disconnected and was dumping into our crawl space. Also, our existing plumbing was cast iron and upon further inspection Matt found that it was disintegrating. Although it was OK for the moment we decided that while he was down there to have it replaced with PVC. While I had him here he also replaced the drain under the bathroom sink because it was leaking and he tightened our toilet seat. Matt completed the job thoroughly, providing photos since I couldn't get under the house. He left everything in perfect working order. I found his pricing to be very competitive and affordable. He came out quickly to give a quote and was able to get to us very quickly once I accepted it. He stayed until the job was done and was very communicative from start to finish. I entered into a contract with Trending Construction on May 1, 2023 in the amount of $28,900. I…read morepaid them $15,200 up front for the materials they needed to start the work. They breached our contract by attempting to use reclaimed lumber, after which they attempted to raise the quoted price. They admitted they were in over their heads and not sure how to complete the job. At this time I terminated the contract and asked for a detailed invoice and refund. They provided an invoice for work that has not been completed and refuse to give me any type of refund. I have photos that show that the work was not completed. They did do some work, however some of what they did had to be re-done since they put insulation in before starting the job and it was contaminated with mold that had not yet been cleaned up. The work that they did finish was a partial demolition and they purchased insulation. They left piles of debris in my yard and under the house. They did not replace any joists or bring in any new lumber. I have filed complaints with the BBB and ohio attorney general in hopes to get some of my money back. I do not recommend and would give them zero stars if that was an option.
