Ollie went over our project in great detail about what I wanted done and what additional details they would do to make the job just right. He gave me a written quote with line-item details. Prior to painting, they pressure washed the entire house including the brick and chalked all the gaps. The crew masked the windows and brick, painted and detailed the trim. Kevin, the project manager missed a little on the paint estimate but was right on top of getting more. No delays. The best surprise is our porch ceiling. We thought it was so bad it should be just painter over. But Ollie said we should stain it. I was very happy with all the little details Fresh Coat took care of. First: They are great communicators. I got my quote in a very timely fashion. Before they show up, they let you know they are coming. And when they say they are coming, they actually do. I had a complex painting color scheme for the house. They executed it to my specifications and they were super flexible when I changed my mind on a few things. They work fast and efficiently, but also did a good quality job. To me, this means they are professionals. Every painter was friendly and customer service oriented. I had some follow up items from the job...they came back and addressed every concern without pushback. And, the price was pretty reasonable. I'll be using them again next time around.

We were pleased with how quickly the work started and we were excited with the quality that we would receive. However, the end result was sloppy and unprofessional. It became apparent that Fritts didn't manage their time and it became a rush job. We trusted Brian and his team to finish the job and paid him, once we did a walkthrough and pointed out the various mistakes and touch ups. We contacted Brian and he assured us that the work would be completed as soon as possible. After four weeks and many canceled appointments, we were finally able to get Brian out to our home. We appreciate that Brian spent his own time fixing up the job as much as he could. Unfortunately, there were just too many mistakes for one person to handle. Brian is very nice and accommodating; we were just not satisfied with the end result.

Received an estimate on a Monday and mentioned that I'd get back with the 5 Star estimator on…read moreWednesday of the same week due to the fact that I was getting additional estimates. In the interim I had a few questions and reached out to my estimator, he asked how they compared to the other estimates, I said not the highest or the lowest. The estimator said that is where they wanted to be and asked if I had any questions. All seemed ok. 5 Star did their best to get the go ahead on the project and get on their schedule receiving their latest ask on Wednesday. I replied to the email quote on Wednesday evening and countered 5 star to reduce the total cost, ~4% less than the original quote and mentioned I'd pay cash vs card (very common for businesses to offer a 2 to 3% discount if paying with cash/check. My discount ask was reasonable.). Since it was later in the evening I mentioned I would follow up the next morning. Also sent a text message indicating I replied to the quote and call the next day, trying to be respectful of people's time away from work. Thursday morning arrives, I called a few times, left a message, 5 star did call back, missed the call, phone tag. Still I have not received a response to the email, voice mail or text from 5 Star regarding my counter offer. I sent another text restating the offer, finally I get a text back... stating "Unfortunately, we are completely booked out for our exterior projects this year. Five Star Painting". A simple NO would have been ok, but to disrespect a potential customer is unacceptable. Probably would have let it go after that, but I went their website to contact their main office to share my experience. To my surprise, as I opened their website, an ad appears stating 10% off if you book before 10/31 up to $500 off. This discount was not mentioned or indicated anywhere on the quote. Note: The discount I asked for was less than $500, once again undeserving of the estimators response. The final straw that led to this review happened as I started searching for other painting companies and a at least 3 different Facebook ads for 5 Star popped up, once again touting 10% off and that they have openings in their schedule. I told 5 star that if they did a great job on the exterior, I would have additional interior painting. While I wish this review pertained to quality of work, I can only respond to the poor quality of customer service and how not to treat a potential customer.

Apparently this place has a contract with the condo I live in. Their music is so loud, I could hear…read moreit with all the windows closed and the air on, at the opposite end of the house. But worse than that, they taped opaque sheeting over the bedroom window--gave no notice they were doing so--and left it overnight. There is absolutely NO regard for who might be living in the residence. They left a large and very loud pressure washer running just outside my window (no painters in view) at 7:50 a.m. Pressure-washed (presumably--doesn't look any different than before) the wall outside my bedroom at 8 a.m. At 6:30, left all their garbage in the backyard. If I had a choice, I would NOT use this company. I will be taking it up with our Board.

WR Painting worked quickly, efficiently, and professionally on the walls, trim, baseboards, and…read moredoors in my home. They also painted the registers, and I hired them to paint the kitchen cabinets. They sent a team of two to begin on the cabinets. It took four days of sanding, priming, and painting to complete the job. It looked great, though some details were lacking, such as re-attaching the cabinet doors (loose and crooked) and painting in dark places where the sprayer couldn't reach. However, after addressing these concerns with Wilbur and Greg, the imperfections were fixed and it all looks great! After the cabinets, the team worked on painting upstairs. They were very efficient, and the only issues were that some of the hardware wasn't removed before painting and in some places, another coat was needed. It was no problem; they were happy to fix the imperfections once they were pointed out. The downstairs turned out very nicely. They even did a little extra work on some paneling that had been painted incorrectly by the previous owners in order to ensure quality work. I appreciated that. Originally, they hand-brushed the metal registers/vents, which didn't look nice. The paint was chunky and runny. After I asked them to fix it, they sanded each one and sprayed them, and they all look really nice. Overall, I would recommend this company. The owner was willing to take time to come address specific concerns in my house, and the manager was very professional and personable through the entire process. Even with having to wait between painting the upstairs and downstairs due to renovations, as well as having to come listen to errors/issues, they were patient and accommodating. At the end of the project, I was satisfied with the results. When we are ready to paint the exterior, we will likely contact WR Painting.
