The Earl Warren Showgrounds is an event/festival space in Santa Barbara, a convention center of sorts, sized for a small city. We went for a sea glass and ocean arts festival, then ended up visiting another (the other?) building, where there was a giant used book sale to benefit Planned Parenthood. Parking was free and easy on a Saturday morning with two events on the property, and there was enough signage to indicate where we should be going. The buildings were serviceable enough, not especially new or spiffy, but they were spacious and air conditioned. There were also several fans going in the book sale space, which is why we ended up there. Our four-year-old is a fan fanatic. It looks like the Earl Warren Showgrounds hosts the Santa Barbara Fair, as well as a horse show and rodeo and various other events. We spend a lot of time entertaining our children in town, so I'm sure we'll be back for something or another. read more

Attended the International Orchid Festival. The 30-45 min instruction on potting and maintenance was for sure valuable info and probably the best part of the day (besides the friend time) The show itself is quite small . It's only one room of orchids . They sell 3 day passes but I can't imagine what you would do there for 3 days unless you were showing . It took us more time driving home than it did walking though the show and the vendors tent. The vendors tent had a lot of vendors but the lines were just so long to buy anything and Orchids are not an inexpensive hobby. I mostly kill mine so I didn't put out the big bucks they were asking for the same types you buy at TJ's for 19.99. we thought we might visit the nurseries post show and make purchases at the nursery . I purchased a potted cascading succulent and the blue sticker fell off somewhere . when we were leaving some kid made us walk back to the vendor and get another sticker. apparently they must have a lot of theft at this show , but a stupid blue sticker anyone can buy at staples sure isn't going to stop theft . I was more irked that some stupid kid assumed i was a thief. We paid $40 for entry and that should include something maybe orchid bulb or seedling? I won't waste the time or $ on this show again . Good Morning . This RV site so close to downtown santa barbara is Awesome. Make sure to use Gate "A", you cannot find the RV park from Calle Real. And 2 miles from Hendry,s Beach, which has the Boat Jessup, which is a must. Moses is our favorite waiter at Boat House. We recommend everything on the menu. Susan is the manager with her 2 assistant cats, Viola and Alfie, who live indoors with her at the house at the entrance. She runs this whole Earl Warren Showgrounds. She makes walk abouts in the rv park regularly, but Earl should provide her with a Golf Cart preferably with a full bar like the golf courses in Arizona. You will be most happy There are 44 Full hook ups, complete with wifi, but book early, it fills up. read more

Ghouls, Terrifying Clowns, Crypt Keepers and ALL things that go bump in the night! THREE Haunted Houses at THE HAUNT and Harvest Festival made our hearts pound and scream over and over again. It was awesome! We bought 3-pack tickets to go to all 3 experiences: 1. The underground Tunnel of Terror (Like movies Saw, Get Out and Texas Chainsaw combined) 2. Hallway of Darkness (Just red balloons and clowns) and 3. Creepy Barns (Eerie, dark, headless horseman vibe plus spiders). PLUS Live, local band music with Beer Garden, Carnival munchiez including turkey legs, funnel cakes, deep fried yummy goodness. Carnival rides, Jumpers and Painting pumpkins for young kids. Many folks came in costume and it was thrilling to see all the creative Halloween fun! BIG PLUS: FREE Parking, Close to Freeway and Admission was FREE, do need tickets for Rides and Haunted Houses. read more

This review is for the Earl Warren RV Park at the Showgrounds. My daughter was having orientation at UCSB and we had the choice to camp or get a hotel. It was much cheaper for us to camp and we found this location on google. It is just a parking lot, but has full hook up sites. You book your site online, we did it there from the parking lot after we looked at the sites and which ones were available online and booked right then and there - no issues. There is no host, but you can talk to maintenance if you need anything or if there is an emergency their number is listed. Also once you book and receive your confirmation you will be provided with the Wi-Fi user and password as well as the combination for the showers. We did not use, so I can't provide further information on the showers there. We did have our two dogs with us and there is a dog run, not fenced and grass areas. It is also close to State Street in Santa Barbara and shopping. I wouldn't mind staying here again for a short stay to see our daughter or overnight when passing though. The price is not bad for a night. read more

Very quiet place. Everyone keeps to self. Nice amount of space between lots but no showers, unreliable WiFi and the bathrooms are always dirty or flooded. There's cockroaches sometimes I see in the area. Very ant infested also at night and sometimes during the day it smells like manure. But it's over all an ok experience. Just would appreciate WORKING WiFi and a clean place thanks. read more

I've stayed here with the wife and kids multiple times and will again. Full hook ups, close parting for any Toads. Susan is super accommodating there as well. Safe location, close to downtown and IV. If you're looking for a resort, this isn't it. If you do want a night's rest or a spot close to everything SB has to offer at a reasonable price, it's awesome! The only major knock I'd have, and it doesn't bother me, is that spaces are tight. Just enough room for slides. read more

This is a great overnight spot when traveling through Santa Barbara. We stayed one night with a 27' rv. Full hook ups are available, power, sewer and water. It may be easier to mention what does not come to the Earl Warren Showgrounds rather than list the Santa Barbara fair, home shows, craft shows, gem shows, dog shows, wedding shows and gun shows. There's flower shows and horse shows too. Horses are what they do best with a large number of stables and the Kramer arena. There's also great rental opportunities with the Exhibit building and Waren Hall. I've been to a few hosted events in these buildings and enjoyed my time and the location. I even buy my Christmas tree in the lot each year. I'm sure you'll find something to do there too. read more

I lived in ojai for 10 years and always wanted to go here. Had to move far away to come back to see it. Haha. I was expecting a much more but the place has charm. No entry or parking fees. Yay! Saw the finalists for a week of shows. However many classes had only one horse. ?? Didn't see any food concessions. But maybe there were some elsewhere. Old fashioned kind of arena w plenty of benches and shade. read more

We are so happy to have found this RV spot while visiting SB. It is right off the freeway (be careful not to miss the turn - look past the white fence) and local to the beach, hiking, restaurants, the bowl, and Tesla charging. Susan is an absolute delight!! Our dogs enjoyed seeing all the horses that were just there for the show. We look forward to our next visit in the fall!! read more

If you need help Susan is always close by and was so warm and friendly the many times we stayed there. Even when we definitely drove her crazy. She might be a tiny little woman but she has a way of making the RV park feel safe and that's appreciated. Shower are hot and bathrooms are only dirty if the people who are staying there at the time are leaving it that way. Shocking the traffic or any other sounds are barely ever noticeable. Of course if an even is happening at the showgrounds thats another story. Yes it's expensive, i do wish theyd have some type of cheaper rate depending on the amount of days staying or something because it does add up quick. But this is Santa Barbara so thats got to be expected. read more

BROADCASTING FROM THE PARKING LOT OF EARL WARREN, 9/20/2015 9:30PM Me and hundreds of other American citizens are stuck out in the parking lot in a line wrapped around the entire parking lot trying to get into the venue to see Glass Animals. We have just hit the one hour mark of standing in line and are still moving at snail's pace with more line to be had ahead. We already missed the opening band which could have been my new indie band to not tell anyone about. Now I will never know and I can never get that back. This event is run by Night Out but has externally hired security. Said security just came out and gave us a stump speech about rules, laws, following orders, heroine, and stop asking us questions. Not sure who is at fault here or who should be assigned blame or if it is merely a cataclysmic sum of the unavoidable, but this situation is absolutely ridiculous and sees no sign of getting any better. If I die in this line, tell Night Out to give my refund to my parents. Over and out. read more

By RV park standards, this is a dump. No more than a parking lot with buildings in disrepair; no bathrooms, no showers, Wi-Fi was poor, no cell service...keep driving and find somewhere else. read more

The Thursday swap meet was awesome today from a sellers point of view. The crowd was not big but the people were buying. Price to setup is only $20 . Not only did we sell quite a bit but we also did some shopping and bought some great produce. Overall it was a very funny day and profitable to boot. read more

***FOR RV PARK*** Amazing! This place is located at Earl Warren off Las Positas. Very close to exit/ on-ramp, easily accessible. I just had to stay at this park for my full 15 days! Excellent location and even better lot manager. She makes sure you are parked and comfortable during your stay. And by park, I mean she helps everyone back in, if needed! And made sure to direct me where the restrooms and showers are located, as well as give WiFi password and unlocking the hookups immediately upon arrival. She was SO helpful from start to finish. I really felt like I should've tipped her. Myself and all visitors to my site were happily greeted by her and given proper instructions, which is hard to come by for RV parks and campgrounds in general. This is a parking lot, and would be nothing without the lively and lovely RV manager. Her name is Susan! Here are the specs, short and sweet! + WiFi, very good I might add. Was able to do work and check emails quickly + Very close to Las Positas exit, easy turn in and back in. It's a large lot + 30/50 amp hookups + Sewage dump hookup + Water hookup + Walking distance to Whole Foods and other markets + 2.5 miles to beach and downtown State st. (Main popular street in Santa Barbara, attractions, food, pier, shopping) Would DEFINITELY recommend this park. Quiet stay in Santa Barbara and close to downtown State St. Hidden gem! read more

Easy stay in Santa Barbara. As Cheri B. said, all utilities included for $70 a night for 50 amp service and $65 a night for 30 amps (in Nov. 2023). It does include wifi, which has been fine for streaming the four times we've stayed here, and one car parking in addition to the RV. Pets and children are free. Online reservations are easy. We've had good luck finding vacancies on week nights, but I know sometimes one needs to book in advance, depending on what special events are going on at the Showgrounds or in Santa Barbara. There is some shade, and the paved sites are well maintained & generally have room for slides on both sides of a rig. For those reliant on their restrooms and showers, it's worth calling first, as the showers were closed for repair in Oct. and Nov. 2023, and both restrooms and showers were closed for repair in the spring of 2023 as well. If you are a first time visitor to SB, be sure to go to the County Courthouse--absolutely beautiful inside and out!!! read more

Came here for a gem show last weekend with my sister and had a lovely time. Having spent lots of time in Santa Barbara growing up, I was surprised I'd never been to these showgrounds before. The gem show wasn't highly attended so the majority of the grounds were closed off this day. Everything was well groomed and the lines were well managed, too. Just like other convention centers or fairgrounds, this was a great place to come for an afternoon and see something unique as it traveled through town throughout the weekend. The bathrooms were a bit of a disappointment, maybe just one step above port-a-pottys, but other than that the place was A-ok. A little dated, but clean. There was ample parking, clear signage, and it didn't hurt that the weather was gorgeous. I read that the gem and mineral show will be back in a few months. I might have to make another trip to check it out again! read more

I am having a hard time putting my experience into words. Putting it mildly, this was absolutely the worst event I have ever been to. Earl Warren Showgrounds is by far the most unorganized and unprofessional company I have every encountered. After driving about an hour to the Showgrounds we stumbled upon a line that was over 2 hours long and growing (no exaggeration). We thought this was for sure a "will call" line, but to our amazement this was the line for everyone, and it was in fact due to their pathetic excuse for a security team. When finally reaching the front of line, the Security company used at Earl Warren Showgrounds ended up making us feel extremely violated and caused us to leave the show before entering. After illegal search, attempted confiscation of my belongings, illegal touching, pushing, harassment, and name calling, I had to leave the event before even entering. What an absolute nightmare! I wouldn't go to Earl Warren Showgrounds if it was the last dry land on earth after tonights treatment! read more

Came here to find a cool venue in the SB area to host our next music festival GOOD VIBES featuring indie rock, reggae, electro, and dubstep (3/26/11). HUGE PROS: Close and cheap parking lot 3.5 large stage areas 1 huge outdoor coliseum *5K person 1 interestingly shaped indoor area WOODY's BBQ on site! (check them out) lots of bathrooms lots of grass Competitively priced Cons: Surround community only allows outdoor area till 10, indoor till midnight. We are currently here attending the AHASC Region 2 Championships. The grounds are quite nice and kept up. However, the dome arena needs a bit a work such as a fresh coat of paint & basic repairs. This is a wonderful place to have a horse show, the footing in the all the arenas is very nice and soft, which makes it comfortable for the horses. read more

This is a hidden gem. The campground is part of the parking lot for the Earl Warren Showgrounds. However the location is incredible. It's quite and you are right in the middle of Santa Barbara, but it doesn't feel like it. The views of the mountains are beautiful. You are close to everything. And you can't beat the price for this location. Also, Susan the manger is great. She is very helpful in all matters. I have stayed here several times in the last year. I look forward to it every time. read more

My husband, Art Rodriguez and I love this place. Susan, the RV Manager is so friendly and welcoming. Just reserve your space online and pull in directly to your spot at check in time. It's that easy. Susan is always available if you need her but no interaction needed, which is perfect for these covid times. The spaces are close together, but we don't spend much time at the RV during the day. The fairground is a great place to lay your head down at night because during the day there is plenty to see and do in Santa Barbara. Thank you for making our experience easy Susan. I love the events that go on here! From The fair and Bettie's Practice and Roller Hockey! The space is very large so many event could go on, one of the down sides is once parking fills up street parking can be a hassle to deal with, but it's not as bad for the space it gives! They hold swap meets and diamond expos as well! So anyone in town should check out the event page they provide. read more

The RV park was a nice surprise. We looked on google maps so we knew it was basically a parking lot with hookups, but it didn't feel like it. It was a really nice stay. Susan is onsite to make sure everything goes smoothly and you have everything you need. Places to walk the dog and can stroll around the showgrounds. Convenient location and was quiet. Easy Lyft into SB and back. Would recommend for a waypoint or weekend in SB. read more

Such a disappointment and waste of time and money. $10 to park, $8 to just enter the fairgrounds and an additional $7 for the bird and reptile show. When I asked the the woman at the entrance of the bird and reptile show "Didn't we already pay an $8 entrance free to get in?" She answered me with attitude " we have no control what they do " whatever that means! $25 later and 2 tables of reptile supplies and a few snakes. I guess it might have been alright if you were here for the birds. I won't do this again read more

I went to the dog show here on a whim a few weeks ago, and had fun! There are a few large showrooms/showrings/arena areas, allowing for quite a few dog rings goin' all at once. We paid $5 for parking near the restaurant area, and walked right into the dog show from there! (Don't tell them, shh). I wish they had more chairs out, seemed like people brought their own. read more

Everyone who attended Glass Animals last night can relate to everything I'm about to say. I fortunately arrived early and didn't have to wait in the crazy line, but I knew from the minute I asked the first staff member a question that the people working the event were by far the most unprofessional people I've seen. There was no structure to the line and it went off into the parking lot. While I waited in line a group of only about 15 security guards came out to help 2,000+ people. One seemed to have a napoleon complex as he went through the line screaming at us like we're toddlers, which I found extremely crazy considering we paid to be there. He went off about no drugs, no alcohol, which is fair -- but then he started telling us to get rid of our bags, e-cigs, etc etc and cigarettes. Which is ironic because there were 3 staff members about 5 ft from my smoking cigarettes after we were told it was through the "state rules that the venue can't have cigarettes". Not to mention he was screaming and cussing, then let someone cut in line. So we get in and I noticed it took about 5 minutes to get each person in. He was busy chatting to realize I was ready to be checked, then after forgot to give me my 21+ bracelet and yelled for me to come as I was halfway in. He then had me wait for 5 mins again just to get my bracelet that HE forgot. What I found confusing is why the staff and security gossiped at around 7pm when they could have started checking then. After the opening set came on, two guys nonchalantly came up to the microphone and told us in a rude tone that the show is postponed an hour.. didn't even seem to care. We all sat on the floor sweating our butts of and everyone was getting extremely irritated. Glass Animals did eventually come on and made up for the mistakes, but nonetheless it was one of the most ridiculous concerts I've ever been to. I feel bad for Glass Animals because they had gotten the backlash for the BS that Earl Warren pulled. I went on FB and Twitter after the show and saw all the unprofessional things almost every customer got. Even security grabbing them! Not to mention this happened on a Sunday night where people had school the next day or work. FYI -- telling people to just "get over it" and just giving them no choice other than to leave after they gave you their money probably won't help you out in the future. HIRE BETTER SECURITY. THEY SUCK. If there was ever an event that I could attend here or in LA, or SF, I would go out of my way to drive out and waste gas instead of coming here again. I suggest no one waste a single minute here, especially musicians who want to book shows here. I'd think twice. So unprofessional. read more

I attended a Glass Animals concert at Earl Warren on Sunday evening. It was the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have ever encountered. The concert was supposed to being at 8 o'clock PM. I arrived at 8:15 and did not get inside the doors until 10:20.... the concert had yet to even begin because so LITTLE people had been allowed inside. It was so unorganized I would NEVER recommend it to anyone. Then once you got inside you had to WAIT in another line to get a 21+ wrist band that line didn't even get you into the beer garden.. then it was another 30 minute line to get a drink. Literally have never had such a horrible experience. I have seen an underground rave be more efficient and organized then this. read more
