Nice place to take in the harbor and stroll along the breakwater. It's fun to play dodger the water at high tide or high surf. Most of the time it's way to escape getting wet. Plenty of local fishermen (people) and locals eager to engage in conversation. Also, a fine place to launch your boat for ocean action. Really a 3.798 experience but I'm felling generous today and flying the full five star treatment. Highly recommend for fun and shenanigans.

In terms of attractions in Santa Barbara, I am always magnetized when I get to the Harbor Waterfront. Just the quietness in the air, the stillness of the bay, and the many fishing and recreational boats, injects a sense of tranquility and relaxation. I like walking along Harbor Way, with the ocean on one side and the harbor on the other. The sea breeze is fresh, and the scenery welcomes you to this small but stunning location. I will confess, my main pull to this area is Brophy Bros, which I think is one of the best, if not the best seafood restaurant in Santa Barbara. The view, when you are sitting outside at this restaurant is a fantastic complement to the amazing selection of seafood at this eatery. There are also other food places and businesses that are at this harbor address to cater to many tastes. I know I will keep coming back here, and I think, so will you.

Lovely Harbor! It is very relaxing and refreshing just to walk around enjoying the view plus pets are welcome. Along Santa Barbara Harbor, some of the places to eat are: Santa Barbara Fish Market, On the Alley, Sushi Go Go, Brophy Bros, and Breakwater Restaurant. A lot of choices, right? For Brophy Bros. and the Breakwater restaurant, there are both indoor and outdoor seating. This is a lovely place and a must to visit when in Santa Barbara! Find time to dropby if visiting this area!

Great location for a morning or afternoon walk! I like that the walkway curves around so one can get a great view of the ocean. Excellent photo ops!!! I love seeing the blue sky, blue water against the numerous white boats!! Take you comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunglasses and sunblock.

The Majestic Princess made a stop here today. We had to take a shuttle to the city. It was a short ride to the harbor, and also a short walk to State Street, which has shopping and dining, a winery, trolley, and a movie theater.

Santa Barbara's harbor has a laid back, very accessible feel. Parking can be tricky, but with people coming and going pretty frequently, you can get lucky. We dropped by yesterday at 4:30 to catch an early dinner at Brophy Brothers, and snagged a 90 minute spot very close to the small shops and services, and the entrance to the private SB Yacht Club parking lot. After we enjoyed our meal, we went walking out on the seawall path. Our nephew was with us, and we retraced the steps taken some years before when his sister was considering attending Santa Barbara Community College. At the end of the seawall, there's a beautiful vista spot to take in the harbor, and the city panorama. It highlights the gorgeous scenery that SBCC is lucky to inhabit. Our nephew is planning to start attending the college soon, so it was fitting to show him what will be in his new venue. As we walked out, young kids paddled by on kayaks and paddleboards. I said that he could take up surfing, paddleboarding, beach volleyball, or even live aboard a boat. So many options in and around the harbor! In past visits, Dear Hubby and I have witnessed the fascinating process of boats offloading their catch of anemones, clattering into containers, to then truck them off to LAX to be flown out to Japan, where I understand sushi chefs turn then into a popular delicacy. To be sure, there's always something happening at the harbor, even if it's just long-winded fish tales!

I mean it's just so dreamy walking around here at night. The moon. A clear night sky. Beautiful boats in the background. Clean/crisp air. And the ocean...a strange, vast, dark and mysterious (yet comforting) place at night. And I feel safe. I don't feel any bad vibes. It's places like this that add sugary sweetness to life.

This review is for the Santa Barbara Harbor & Seafood Festival at the harbor. This was the annual event that is put on each year up here for the opening of lobster season. The festival is only for one day (what a bummer) from 10am to pm, the admission is free to walk in, but parking is not, if you drive in you can pay by the hour 3 to 4 hours about $8.00 This is a family oriented event that has some activities for each and everyone here. There are so many vendors here selling some of everything this place was so crowded I couldn't tell you how many times I said excuse me, I'm sorry, pardon me to the guys (think about it) now you can laugh. The Maritime museum was open, free boat rides tour of the harbor, live entertainment, harbor patrol tour with lights & siren on. The main attraction here is the fresh caught lobster's, crab, prawn's plus other seafood that is also caught by local fishermen here, the sea food here was fresh and delicious. The only thing I would complain about is the seating, there is not enough tables & chairs here, if you find a spot to stand or sit you better take it.

The harbor was very nice, parking was right on the harbor which is free for the first 90 min. We walked around the Bay Area stores, restaurant and ice cream shops. We saw seals and sting rays. It's a pretty nice to kayak or paddle board. They have boat tour you can rent. It was a very nice place to visit.

Pretty views. 90-minutes free parking. But other than that, there just isn't all that much to do here. You do have access to the beach from the Harbor section. And you can catch the water taxi to go across to the Wharf ($5 each way - if it's running). But on the Harbor side there is a store or two and a few restaurants as well as the Maritime museum. As part of a day checking out Santa Barbara, this is worth a stop, but besides the great views, not a lot to occupy your time. We didn't check out the Maritime museum - didn't seem that interesting to us. The Harbor is a stop on the Santa Barbara Trolley tour and I you get 2 for 1 admission to the Maritime museum if you buy a trolley ticket.

Santa Barbara Harbor is like the West Coast version of New England seaports. Lots of boats on the docks. Visitors can walk on the waterfront, ocean views and Stern Wharf for free, but parking is not free.

Cute harbor! We visited it over the weekend. We never had the chance to check it out before, even if it's within walking distance form Stearns Wharf (10 minutes). The harbor isn't big, but it's cute, has a fun atmosphere (there was a band playing near by), lively with boats, cool activities, people, small stores, nice seafood restaurants. You can spend as much or little time here as you want -ice-cream, or lunch, dinner, or just a nice stroll. You can board on the Little Toot from here to Stearns Wharf (15 minutes ride) for $5. Nice discovery for us even if we've been to SB many times before. We walked to downtown area from here on Cabrillo Blvd. which was a beautiful, short walk. If you're in the area, check it out. On a nice, sunny day, it could be a great activity!

A beautiful and relaxing place that has its own private beach. It wasn't crowded at all. Maybe because it was cold but the sun was very warm. You can smell the ocean breeze and sargassum along the way. It's a nice place to get some fresh air.

Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the more disappointing parts of the trip. The seating is tightly packed. I understand maximizing capacity, but at 6'6" it was not comfortable. We moved to the front right side where there is a sideways bench behind the driver, which offered more legroom. That felt like a smart move until we realized most of the sights being pointed out were on the left side of the trolley. It felt like about 80 percent of the tour was oriented that direction, which meant we were constantly twisting around and still missing details. If you book this tour, sit on the left side. The narration also felt disorganized. The driver mentioned he was reading the traffic flow incorrectly and ended up doing much of the route "backwards." Because of that, he would introduce a historical figure or landmark, then later circle back and partially repeat the same information when reaching his usual talking point. There was noticeable repetition and filler instead of a smooth, cohesive storyline. Midway through the tour, there is a stop at Mission Santa Barbara for about 15 minutes. While it is nice to get off and stretch your legs, 15 minutes is nowhere near enough time to meaningfully experience the mission. You can walk through the courtyard and take a few photos, but that is about it. The mission deserves more time than a quick pass through. In practice, the stop felt more like a checkbox than a real opportunity to explore. Another frustration was departure time. The 2:00 p.m. tour did not leave at 2:00. The driver waited past the scheduled time to see if additional passengers would join. When you are visiting from out of town and carefully stacking your schedule, those extra 10 to 15 minutes matter. Overall, for about $30 per person, I expected a more polished and better organized experience. We both left disappointed. If you want a meaningful introduction to Santa Barbara, you may be better off exploring key spots on your own at your own pace.

Very faint sounds of cars in the distance here and there which wasn't ideal but out of their control and once things settled in you really couldn't hear much external noise. After the relaxing sound bath we were offered tea and light pastry snacks. I opted for a water and began exploring the grounds instead of partaking in the refreshments. The grounds are lush and lovely, very zen. Loved the beautiful trees and walkways with small fountains and running water. It was green and pretty all around from the recent rains. Definitely a great location for events and to learn a little SB history. I will definitely do my research and come back again soon.

This year, we finally made it happen--and it was everything we hoped for and more. After searching Yelp for nearby stables, this ranch stood out with the best reviews by far, (now I see why), so our hopes were high. I'm so glad we decided to trust the reviews and drive the extra 15-20 minutes to this place. I was tempted by the value of the half-day ride, but since it had been several years since either of us had been on horseback, we decided to go conservative and chose the 1.5-hour trail ride instead. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jack, who checked us in and handled the paperwork. He was funny, friendly, and efficient--such a great start to the experience. I grew up riding English, with all the rules drilled into me from childhood, so being told (for only the second time in my life!) that I didn't have to wear a helmet felt almost rebellious. Yes, I know safety matters, and yes, my daughter was smart enough to wear one--but I have to admit, it felt wonderfully freeing. Russell was fantastic as well. Our horses were fully tacked and waiting, ready for us to hop on. As someone accustomed to doing much of the prep work myself, it felt strange--and a bit indulgent--to have mounting steps and a completely ready-to-go horse. My old riding instructors would be ashamed and shaking their heads at me. Though I felt a little "spoonfed," I know this is a huge perk for beginners or anyone unfamiliar with horses. Personally, I would've enjoyed grooming or prepping my horse, but that's not the norm for organized trail rides like this. After the ride, Russell was right there to help us dismount, cracking jokes and keeping us laughing the whole time. I had to laugh when he said, "You're just like me--good looking and short on legs!" Our trail guide, Elrich (Elrick?6, was excellent. Our group was small--just my daughter and me, plus one other couple. My daughter and I are both experienced English riders, while the other couple had never ridden before. Elrich struck the perfect balance, giving the beginners enough guidance without making the ride dull for the rest of us. While I always love a bit more trotting and cantering, I know that's not typical for these types of outings, and honestly, I had an absolute blast just being on a horse again. I've missed it so much. My daughter and I are already planning to return next year for the 2.5-hour ride. The trail itself? Absolutely breathtaking. I've been riding since childhood--now over 60--and have been on countless trail rides. This is, truly the most beautiful trail I've ever experienced. Waterfalls, streams, a few ocean views and stunning mountain scenery... it was spectacular from start to finish. If you're choosing between this ranch and nearby stables, I highly recommend trying this one first. You won't be disappointed, It's a wonderful experience, a gorgeous trail, and a fantastic way to spend the day.

The nice gentleman that answers the phones is very sweet, I had to call several times to change my tour and he was so helpful I can tell he has been with the Stables a long time and loves being there. When I arrived I was the only one and he told me to go walk around while I was waiting I guess he read my mind. I had to take off 2 stars because of the Gentleman from Texas that works there. He honestly seems like he hates his job, he asked me several times if I was on a horse before and I told him give me any horse I'll be fine. He chose AXE and while he was bringing him over to me AXE was being a little stubborn and didn't want to come not because he didn't go on the trail but he was uncomfortable with the Texan. What bothered me most was he said "AXE STOP BEING A JERK" which made me really upset and uncomfortable. I don't like it when people wok with animals and call them derogatory names.

As it turns out, all of the harbor seals, and sealions have names. We befriended one named Steve, he is much better at swimming than I am. He also taught me secret techniques to paddling. This one Pelican named Parry got into a barking match with some sealions, which is a fight he wasn't gonna win, let's be honest. Though I was hoping to see an M-A-N-A-T-E-E ... next time! If you're gonna go down on Haley street, where the dogs are easy and the sun is cheap, you never know just who you'll meet, on Haley. (But hopefully it's Rachel from the Santa Barbara Adventure Company, and you get her kayak tour; shout out!)

We had a fun ferry ride to the islands and even got to slow down to watch a large Sunfish (Mola Mola) snacking on some jellies. I recommend getting in line early to secure the best view seating on the ferry. Our kayak guides, Chuck and Adam, were exceptional--knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They made the entire trip both fun and informative, while ensuring we always felt safe and well cared for. We were fortunate to have perfect weather and warm water, which allowed us to explore all seven sea caves--many of which are inaccessible during high tide or rougher conditions. It made the experience even more special. Having lived in Santa Barbara for 22 years, this was my first time visiting the islands, and it was truly unforgettable. The pristine landscapes, abundant sea life, and even spotting several tiny island foxes while enjoying our picnic lunch, made it an unforgettable adventure. We can't wait to do it again--highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and exceptional experience!

if you're able to book cloud climbers, you're going to have a good time…read more I've taken cloud climbers twice previously and had a blast each time. I recently booked for 3 couples, a party of 6 for next weekend Feb 16th for belated V-day celebration. But the other 2 couples couldn't make it so I called today to update the party size to 2 people. Because we were only 2 people, we were told that they couldn't guarantee us a spot since it's not profitable for them to host a tour with only 2 people. He said he'll put me on a list, so if other people book, the tour will continue, if not, tour will be cancelled. I was a little surprised because I had received an e-mail from them that says buy a valentine special for a party of 2 (picture attached). I think it would've been nice to put a note that tours do not run if there is fewer than 4, nice to have but I didn't rate them a 4 instead of 5 star for this since I get it, a business needs to run on a profit. I decided to cancel and explore other options. When I called another tour, they explained that it was their slow season, also mentioned that there's a minimum number of people for them to be profitable, but provided me other options like instead of semi-tour, maybe first book a private tour, which is more expensive, but they'll be happy to lower the price if other people sign up too, or if I'm flexible, there's other days if I wanted the semi-tour. This was where I saw the difference between a 4-star vs 5-star service. And so to my previous statement, if you're able to book cloud climbers, you're going to have a good time. But what sets a 4-star from 5-star was this recent booking experience. 4-star was them politely letting me know they can't service two people. 5-star is letting me know, explaining why, and seeing if there's other options that might work.

My two brothers and I spent the long Thanksgiving weekend in Solvang and decided to end our trip…read morewith an ATV tour in the Santa Barbara mountains before heading back to L.A. Best decision ever! Although getting to the meeting point was a bit scary as we drove 15 mph through winding roads next to steep cliffs, the views were nice and the ATV experience was totally worth it! We gave ourselves plenty of time to get lost and it took us about 1.5 hours to get to the checkpoint. Luckily Google Maps was on the entire time and we even had an hour to kill on top of the mountain before our 12:30pm appointment. (Also had screenshots of the directions in case we lost service). Upon arrival, we met with the two girls who were wearing face masks and face shields so we felt safe. They had all the sanitizing stuff. They checked us all in, gave us each a mesh covering for our head, pairs of gloves, goggles and helmets. They offered different insurance plans (just like a rental car company), each ranging in price. Then, they walked us over to the ATVs where Jorge was our tour guide. He asked us if we've ever rode before and taught us how to use the automatic ATVs and made us feel comfortable and safe. (Throttle was on the right handle bar and brakes on the left. Second brake was a foot pedal). We drove on wide and narrow trails, over some fun rocky areas, kicking up lots of dust, and he took photos of us the entire time. This was a great family bonding experience and we're all still talking about how fun it was and want to do it again. Know Before You Go: It gets dusty so wear clothes and closed toe shoes that you're ok getting dirty. Give yourself plenty of time to drive to the location because the last thing you want to do is rush through the scary mountain roads. 10/10 would definitely do this again!
