The husband and wife team of Mike and Lauren Williams are multi-talented and bring their wonderful love of performing to each and every event since 2007. Both classically trained violinists they both received their BA degrees in Music Performance from the College of Charleston where they met, married and immediately started their local music business ~ East Cooper Music in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Mike's degree includes a concentration in jazz violin which makes him a multi-talented performer for sure. His love of the electric violin adds a groovy beat and jazzy feel to his music. The couple prefer to hand-pick the best musicians in the Charleston area and are very well known around town. Palmetto Strings offers String Trios, Violin & Cello Duos, Guitar and Violin, Harp and Solo Piano just to name a few! At a recent wedding reception this summer I had a chance to hear the Guitar & Violin Duo featuring Mike Williams and his Dad Bob Williams. They added a perfect touch to the evening with their soft Pop and Classic Rock tunes and Jazz Standards. Palmetto Strings also assists with Ceremony Audio which is often forgotten by many hosting an event. DJ level speakers are available for dinner music based on the client's playlist. The Palmetto Strings website allows you to hear sample audio of what is in their repertoire. On the evening of my daughter's wedding, it rained. We ended up being delayed due to the rain. The…read moretwo were to play during the time of 5:30-6:30. They were to play during guest seating and the ceremony. Due to the rain that started at 5:30, they wouldn't play. Although, they were completely covered (which was stated as a need during rain). The wedding planner asked them to play although the guests weren't being seated (standing around due to delaying the ceremony). Once they agreed to play, it took another 15 minutes. We were also told it would be an additional $50 for every 15 extra minutes they were needed (I did know this was in the contract but it says nothing about inclement weather). In order to give my daughter what she dreamed I agreed to do that if needed. The musicians never said they were sorry for the problems. Also, we haven't been offered a refund for the time they did not play. I would not recommend them to anyone.

They were very responsive when I made my original inquiries. I found them to be flexible and easy to work with. On the day of wedding, they showed up ontime and were very professional. We were very pleased with their performance. I would definitely hire them again.

He made it easy and the forms he sent helped a lot as we were able to decide ahead of time what songs we wanted for each portion of the ceremony and reception. Charlie was an outstanding DJ and incorporated songs that we specifically requested at the reception while also adding in songs that got the guests up and dancing. The reception music was absolutely perfect! And, I personally loved the ceremony music and how he timed it all so well...I don't know how he did it but I thought it was so beautifully done! I highly recommend Nick and Charlie (our DJ) for any special occasion. I was so pleased and we received so many compliments on the lighting and the music for the reception. It was the best day!

She was very professional and well prepared. Her beautiful music added a great ambience to our event and all the ladies were appreciative of her talents. The event lasted two hours and was predominately outdoors. She does a great job of adapting her equipment setup to the layout of any venue. I would highly recommend adding Caitlin to the experience of any event that you are hosting.
