I dared to order the Eagle Burger, and was not disappointed. I can easily add it as in my top-10-ever-burgers, but for sure, it was #1 in the biggest. How big? No human mouth could possibly open wide enough to bite down on it. I had to gnaw on it from different angles, and at that, became totally sated long before it was even half done. My wife had the Turkey Bacon Wrap in a "Tomato Basil Wrap," and commented over and over about how delicious it was. She was only able to finish half and ate the rest the next day. This bar could give two shits about its employees. I worked there for a few months sometimes with no pay for helping (voluntarily) and after having to stay home due to Covid, got told I was having my hours cut and my pay reduced which is illegal right now mind you. Not to mention if the customers saw how gross that kitchen is they would never eat there, the grease build up is disturbing. It's honestly so bad that you can hear fireballs shooting up out of the back of the fryer and the owner refused to get it cleaned. I we even had a D on the last health inspection! I have attached pics to show I'm not some disgruntled employee making stuff up. This is where your food is coming from. The owner is also definitely sexist, he told one of our co workers to pull up his pants because it was giving him a boner. That's not a joke it's absolutely disgusting. This place is great. My step daughter, boyfriend and I had a late night dinner here last night. The service was great: friendly and fast. The beer is cold with a great selection. The interior is clean and you can actually carry a conversation with good acoustics. The portions are huge and fresh. We had French dip, philly cheese steak and burgers. Even my salad was delicious. The Eagles Pub is still the same as I remember. Very friendly, knowledgeable and awesome staff!! They make the best strongest drinks in town Any drink you want, they will make it perfection. If you are stuck for a drink idea they have a huge menu which lists a large variety of misc drinks. They have pool tables, darts, other games (I think-lol) too!! Eagles has generally been a decent experience over the years, but has long, long seen better days. I hate to say it, but there probably should be a management change. I know the people that run it, and while they're all good folks, they always seem so workaholically tired, and to me that reflects negatively on the whole joint. For that, and other reasons, we don't frequent it like we used to. Yet the food is always good, and will never be complained about by anyone in our family. And it's still nice that under-21 is okay to dine there--but need to clear out--by 9PM. I guess it's like an old familiar sweat shirt you throw on. Was in the area camping and looking for a late lunch and The Wife had a hankering for bar food. I have no idea about the life here after 6 but at 4 in the afternoon a couple early arrivals to college and a few local bar flys were the inhabitants. The food...great! The beer...cold and reasonably priced. The decor...EWU themed...(a coug fan myself but oh well) The wife had the breasted chicken- tasted great with Jo Jo's I had the eagle burger with these potato things that were like stuffed tater tots with cheese and jalapeño....those things are awesome bar food. read more

Mike, you need to hire more help. We (a group of 6) went last night to enjoy drinks, food and conversation. It took 3 hours to get our food. We had to ask multiple times for drinks. There were 2 blonde girls trying to handle the entire place and one guy, who I believe is your son, who had to finally go to the back and help you cook. We were so disappointed because this place has good food and is a staple in Cheney, but the service needs major improvements. 2 people in our party left after waiting 2 hours for food. Decided to check out the Cheney bars. I didn't realize Eagles trains on friday nights? Service was painfully slow even though it was not that busy when we were there. The bartenders were inexperienced and snappy (7). Hard to get a word with them before they turn around. Making one. drink. at. a. time. If your servers can't learn/be fast and be kind of nice or neutral, why are they working at a bar? LolWe waited so long to close our tabs... Overall service was just bad. But honestly the system of paying is poorly thought out. It's time consuming for the bartenders from what I saw and contributed to slow service. Train your servers better or get better. Showies (how I will always know it) used to be the happening spot way back when I used to go to school at Eastern. First and Last Thursday everyone was there. And, many of us were there every Thursday in between. So many happy, drunken memories were made at and around this bar. We couldn't wait for Thursday to roll around, so we could plan our trek to Showies. For some reason, everyone seemed to pile into my car and we would drive the mile from our apartments at 800 West One, then end up walking the mile back, because we had too much beer. But, last September I went back to Washington for a friend's wedding. The only way I could get a $5 plane ticket was to leave on Thursday morning and fly back Monday afternoon, leaving me enough time to take a roundtrip driving tour down memory lane. My first night, I drove from Seattle to Cheney with just enough time to watch the sun set behind me. After settling into my room at the Willows and taking a shower, I found out that the Willows no longer ran their bar. I drove down the street to where Showies was, and took a peek inside. There was no sound and only a couple old men. Sure, it was the Thursday before the weekend/week everyone started moving in on campus, so it was to be expected. But, there will always be the college kids who end up sticking around over the summer because they scored a sweet deal on an apartment (the 1 bedroom I had cost me $475, but would cost me at least $1200 in the Bay Area). Instead of going in, I went across the street and noticed something that appeared to be a new bar. I walked in and realized I had to walk down the stairs. Oddly enough, the place was called The Basement. "Strange," I thought to myself, "this looks exactly like the place I partied at so many nights while going to school here. And, we used to call it The Basement." Turns out that one of the people who used to hang out there with the regular crew who lived and partied there. He ended up buying the place and converting it into a bar. Anyway, I was the first patron, and as I was about to leave, the bartender started chatting. We had a great conversation about how much Cheney has changed... And that The Basement is now the place to go every First and Last Thursday. After a couple beers, I went and nabbed my camera, and went snap happy. By 11.30pm, The Basement was full of college students, and I felt right at home. Point of the story? Showies is no longer the place it once was. It is amazing how things change and how traditions move on to bigger and better things. But, if I have kids and take them on a tour of my life before children, I will make sure to take them to Showies and tell them the stories of how big a part it played in my life. Friday night is Trivia night. I come to Cheney at least once a month and I usually stop by here when I'm in town. It's a nice little bar with pool, air hockey, darts, arcade games, a dance floor and a stage for Karaoke. I always have a good time here because this place has a good atmosphere and friendly waitresses. They have a nice selection of beer and they even have their own beer, Eagles Pub Brew, which is not to bad. The food looks pretty good but I can't really comment as I've never actually eaten here. I usually just stop by to see my old friend who comes here for the trivia. Note that the place is jam packed during trivia but once that's over the place thins out pretty quick. If you ever find yourself in the little college town of Cheney this is not a bad spot to stop in and have a drink. I know I'll be here at least once a month like clock work. read more

AKA: Showie's I must say this was the spot when I was in college. I had many fun nights at this bar. The service was always excellent and the drinks always flowed. Aside from the boozing and dancing the night away, they serve food!! And some darn good food at that. They are know for their burger baskets and I hear the pizza is fantastic, but I love their potato munchies and ranch (that they make in house). They have tons of games, pool, air hockey, darts, arcade... dancing and dj's. Showie's will always be a fun memory from college. read more

So I've been here a lot over the last few months, and yeah while at first this place was pretty awesome, it's really going down hill a lot lately. Two employees that used to serve me on all of my visits apparently aren't there anymore, and I wish they were because when they cooked my burgers and appetizers were absolutely amazing, but now the food keeps coming out bland and over cooked. And the customer service has been absolutely abysmal over the last couple of weeks. Saturday karaoke nights are super chaotic and it takes forever to even get an order in, much less actually get your food and drinks. Also - the menu sucks. The format is TERRIBLE and the menu itself is just way too huge. I used to work in a professional kitchen and even I know that there is zero way to have quality control over the food when there are more than 10 to 15 items on a single menu. Not to mention, the old guy who works here (I think he's an owner?) always seems to be intoxicated when he's present and is kind of a dick to the other employees, which I am super not cool with. But yeah. Unless those two other people come back to serve customers and cook, I won't be coming back to this pub. Guess I have to find a new hang out spot. read more

The bar was okay, but my boyfriend and I were served the worst nachos we've ever had in our life. Noticed I said served. We took a couple of bites and realized the pile of crap we were served, was crap. The waitresses were nice but when we told them the nachos weren't edible, their response was - sorry. So we paid $12 for a pile of stale chips, cold, plastic-like cheese, frozen guacamole, with small slivers of mystery meat. It makes me get just thinking about it. However, the beer was good. The service here was awesome! Everyone was super friendly but especially so when I asked if they had any vegetarian options. The cook (possibly owner?) came out and said he'd make me something off the menu! He totally went out of his way to accommodate me. He also came out with a little smoked salmon and cheese plate for my boyfriend while he waited for my food, which was an amazing veggie packed wrap. Great food, great drinks, great place to go for a night out! I started coming to this bar when it was Showie's at Willow Springs and much as I miss being so close and friendly packed in there, Eagle's Pub still has the same great service, wonderful drink selection and specials, and a ton of other things to do other than drink. During the day they have the best burgers in town and they have a perfect happy hour menu (my favorite are the onion rings with their "special" sauce.) They have trivia a few nights a week, free pool, and a DJ on Thursdays. My absolute favorite thing to do in this bar is karaoke. Fridays and Saturday nights are the nights to have fun and sing your a** off on their stage! Many of my fondest summer night memories were made here. I LOVE this place! read more

This is my favorite bar in Cheney and I've never actually been to trivia night. It's a good bar to catch a drink, hang out with friends, and meet other people. On a full night you can always have a good time watching people try and sing karaoke or even try yourself. On a passive night you can have a brew and play some pool. read more

very sad this was once a great place. the food is horrible and the owner is even worse. im in the process of getting my facts straight but ive heard the owner takes half the servers and bartenders tips and pays her bouncers under the table. this is wrong and unethical! these workers work hard and usually make the establishment what it is. my source is reliabe and im determined to find out Washington State laws and report her accordingly. its too bad that she has to dip into the pockets of her employees. im thinking business must not be doing well to stoop to that level. but i suppose she relies on naive starving college students to prey upon. read more

Not so much personally but I was sitting at the bar and we could hear the 'owner' talking smack about everyone else. BADLY!! If you are going to Eagle's Pub, your experience will definitely depend on what your expectations are. Focusing on service, the bartenders and waitstaff are all very nice and friendly. Ordering drinks, usually, is no problem, but ordering food can be. I was there yesterday in the early evening during a slow time and the food was out within 10 or so minutes. I was also there with friends a week ago in the later evening when it was busy and their food orders took over 45 minutes. I can't complain about the quality though. I ordered the Jalepeno Burger and it was not only huge and juicy, but also delicious. Their fries are also very good. As far as ambiance goes, it feels a little bit run down in there. They have a nice sound system, a good number of flat screens, but everything else is a little old. The lighting especially is very cheesy. However, Eagle's does a good job putting on events. Trivia nights are really fun nights to go with a group of friends. I like to go on Fridays from 7pm-9pm. They also offer things like Kareeoke (which can be annoying after some time), game nights, and have a complete second room filled with pool tables and ping pong. read more

Come play pool, darts and come have awesomely cheap jello shots! Fun crowd and lots of seating in a spacious 3-room bar. I think this is the biggest in Cheney, not including the Basement and this place feels much much less like a meat factory than that place does. On busy nights expect to wait 15 min+ for service though. Oh and there is always that one giant drunk guy who steps on you and cuts in front of you while you've been patiently waiting to order for 10 min. Survival of the fittest. read more
