There were a lot of people there watching a playoff game. Only noticed the one TV, so arrive early if planning to go there for an event as not a ton of space and seating to see the TV. Initially Andy's strikes me as the typical dive establishment...people having a drink after work along with random downtown customers at the bar enjoying the Monday special (beer and shot for 8 USD)...boy was I surprised. The wait staff (one gal) held bar like a pro and was pretty friendly. Draft beer was good and customers were friendly. Restroom was easily an 8 of 10, minus points for door lock being difficult and dim lighting in this area. Didn't try any food or mixed drinks. This place was super chill. It's definitely a little hipster-y, but not so much so that I wouldn't come back. We just stopped in for a drink, and the bartender recommended a good beer for me. Of course, I now have no idea what it was -- but I liked it. I also liked the "fireplace" playing on the TV. I'd love to hang out here in the winter when it's freezing outside & pretend it's a real fire. Plus, there are board games! We played a rousing game of Apples to Apples which kept us entertained. The weird thing: my friend and I were the only females in the entire place for most of the time we were there. Not long before we left, another woman came in, but otherwise, it was ALL dudes. Food service after dinner hours (around 6/7pm) is always awful; there is only one bartender, no cook, after dinner hours. They hand out their menu as if they have complete food service, then, when you try to order (and this has happened more than once over the course of a year with different servers/bartenders each time) they inform you that they only have fried food available. Not much of an issue if they had a late night menu or warned you when they hand you a menu; now I know better, but that wasn't the case the first few times. Bartenders clearly have no concept of customer service. Not only do they not warn you of their limited night time menu, but they also take forever to get to your drink order, and you must go to the bar to order a drink, as there is no table service. You must also figure this out for yourself after a decent amount of time has passed without service. Drinks are overpriced, food is mediocre. Honestly a waste of time to go to this bar. read more

Absolutely one of our favorite places to eat, just west of Brownes Addition. We haven't yet tried weekend brunch, but have eaten many a lunch and dinner, and the bartender and chef never disappoint! Great place... adored the bartender. I let him know what Stoli flavor I had in mind and he whipped up two different and amazing cocktails for me that night. I highly highly recommend the Blueberi Stoli and Pinnacle Whipped Vodka concoction he made for me. He also introduced me to the wonderful world of Barenjager, an insanely fantastic honey liqueur. I have been a regular at Andy's for over 5 years now. Overall, I have loved their food, service, and atmosphere. I often recommend this place to my friends, and it has become a favorite for all of us. However, I have been very disappointed with the service I have received there lately. I have been in twice in the past week. The first night I was in I wasn't even greeted for over 10 minutes. I would understand if it was busy, but the bartender looked at me and turned away until my friend joined me. We ordered drinks and food, but the bartender couldn't find enough food to make our full order, claiming it was his second night and wasn't familiar with the kitchen, but he did offer to make extra of what he could find and not charge for part of our order. This was greatly appreciated and overall he did a wonderful job of making sure we were happy and that we had everything we needed. Despite what happened, we left happy. Tonight, however, was a very different experience. I came in with a different friend and we each ordered drinks. I asked right away if they were still serving food and was told that the cook had a baby the previous day and no food was available. No big deal, we were hungry, but I've been in before when they haven't been able to serve food so we were okay to drink and get food later. Service was great and I would have been happy, except when my friend pointed out that some other guests received fries and mozzarella sticks. The bartender never mentioned that he was okay making fried food, so it didn't seem fair that some guests got food and we didn't. When we finally got our check, I mentioned that it was unfair that he served others and not us. His excuse was that it was his second night (ironic) and that he was uncomfortable using the fryer, but those guests were related to the owner so that's why they got served. I have been in the food industry for 15 years, and I have never been more frustrated than I was with tonight's experience. I understand not being comfortable, but the fact that some guests were treated differently than others rubbed me the wrong way. I also know that it's hard to be new, but with both of these bartenders it is obvious they are lacking the training they need to provide everyone with a positive experience. I love Andy's and I hate to take my business elsewhere, but if this is the trend of current service I will not choose to come back. I hope this post brings awareness to the lack of training that is happening in this establishment so that all guests can have the positive experience I know Andy's can provide. read more

I was told to go to Andy's, because it was so amazing. The person who suggested it to me came along, because she had bragged about the place so much. When we left there she felt the need to apologize to me for the terrible experience we'd had. The server (Bri?) we had is the same one my friend has had in the past. Bri was rude, snappy, and very argumentative with the customers. We waited 45 minutes and that was just to be approached. We sat at the bar which the server was working. She was the only one running the place, which by the way may have been part of the problem. We waited another 25 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink...which never came. At this point we still had not had our food order taken, so we left. On our way out, we asked another couple how long it took for them to get their food and the woman responded, "At least 45 minutes." I guess Andy's is a place to visit knowing that you may have an amazing experience or you may have an unhappy one depending on the mood of the person running the joint. I love eating out downtown, but sadly I cannot recommend this place. I wish I could give you a review on the food, but I can't as we never got the order taken or the food. read more

Went specifically to go to Andy's earlier this year, put money in a meter, went inside (after 2), got looked at like we were totally mistaken about the time and told by the bartender they don't open til 3. ???? We were basically given the impression that we should have known that. Someone was even sitting at the bar (like a customer)..? Won't be coming back there. Hopefully someone who found a fully loaded parking meter was very happy. If a business changes their hours they should also take time to update internet listings to reflect the new hours! read more

I wish I lived closer so this could be my 'neighborhood bar'. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The interior is cool with all the re-purposed and recycled materials. The patio is nice in the summer, with it being on the shade side of the building after work. Decent selection of beers on tap and with a full bar, you can always find something to drink no matter the mood. Food is good, and nice variety. I used to love Andy's. It was my favorite bar in Spokane for four years. But ever since Bri, Lana, and Gary left, the service and food has gone way downhill. It's almost impossible to have a drink and a meal within two hours now. You're lucky if your server comes back to check on you. I had about five lackluster-to-awful experiences here before I gave up. It's sad because Andy's had the best nachos and amazing steak--plus some of the best bartenders around--but now it's just easier to go elsewhere or stay at home. Alright, I have to write a good review because I feel bad for our waiter. Came here *for dinner* after the Lantern Festival around midnight because it was one of the few places still serving food. We felt bad for our waiter/bartender because he was the only one working and he had to make 5 meals. He said it would take around 30 minutes to cook our food but it was more like 15 mins. We ordered a shrimp alfredo but he admitted that the shrimp didn't seem fresh anymore; thanks for not making us sick! I do think he should have charged less than $15 for that dish because it didn't have any protein, just noodles and sauce. It's okay. I was SUPER IMPRESSED with my STEAK SALAD - even the guys who don't eat salad said it looked good - perfectly cooked medium-rare steak over a bed of lettuce with sautéed veggies. YUM! My friend got the steak and potatoes - great deal and also the steak was cooked well. Another person got the coconut shrimp; it was okay but nothing special. I've had Great experiences here: great service, great food for great value, great ambience, etc etc. But the last several times I've been in, the service has been Horrible. Waitresses who are too busy chatting up regulars at the bar to serve the rest of the place, waiting for 10+ minutes to place our order when it's not busy, sitting with empty beers while trying to catch the eye of the server who is studiously ignoring us... I've finally given up. I may peek in once in awhile to see if they've hired new staff and give them another chance. All else being equal, service makes it or breaks it for me and this place seems to be striking out lately. If they could get the service issue fixed they'd be a solid 4+ star for me. read more

Hands down, this is my all-time favorite bar in Spokane. It has a great atmosphere and crowd and the bartenders are awesome - they're always super friendly and typically ever so apt to pour your drink stiff. In the winter, it's my go-to place to escape the lingering cold in Spokane, and in the summer, the patio is a great place to relax and enjoy drinks and board games with friends. The menu is exceptionally solid for a smaller bar and most of the food prices are very reasonable. Andy's also has really good happy hour specials. The only con is that it's small and doesn't seat many, so if you go during a busy time, you might not be able to find a seat at first. Andy's is Spokane's best kept bar secret! read more

First off, the best bartender in Spokane works here (Justin) he is a fun, friendly knowledgeable man behind the bar. The food I had was very good but not quite excellent. Pulled pork sandwich with fries. Fries were wonderful, pulled pork was good. Price was very reasonable. I wish I could give this place 4.5 stars. This is a great place to eat, drink and meet business or personal friends. The food is terrific. The staff is friendly and cool....all of them.
