My family and I just spent 4 days at this campground. The staff was so nice to us and helpful. They escort you to your site, helped us line the camper up. Even made sure we were happy with our site. The campground was clean and the staff was out working everyday and made sure to say hi to everyone. The arcade was clean and fun. They came in and cleaned it twice a day. The pool was clean and the staff was always checking to make sure everyone was having fun. The only down fall was the arcade and mini gold closed at 5pm wished it would of stayed open at least to 8pm. But it didn't ruin our trip. Will definitely be coming back.

Great campground. Everyone was friendly. Upon arrival we were escorted to our site and the gentleman helped navigate my husband into our site (this was a huge help and we were so grateful as it was only our second time taking our travel trailer out). Our site was up the mountain, gravel, wooded and spacious. It was a perfect site. The grounds, pool, bathhouses were immaculate. The playground is huge, there is an adult pool, family pool and waterslide pad (geared for all ages--including adults). The rules are strictly enforced and appreciated. I love a campground that doesn't let people run around like maniacs. There is a game room, campground store (you can borrow movies from their mini movie library) and pavilion (for bingo, activities and summer weekend bands). This campground is big, if you're up the mountain you'll want a golf cart, which they rent for $75 (a bit steep IMO). The mini golf needs an overhaul! Very little and junky, especially for $3.50 per adult. Otherwise, everything else was great!

The staff needs to be evaluated for the way they speak to campers. They are beyond rude.

The campground had great reviews on Google, not so great on Yelp but I was willing to give them a chance due to their location. The price per night was also very reasonable. I was surprised they had openings when I booked only a few days before arrival. The campground is easy to find, however once inside the roads are a mess. They really push the 5 mile an hour speed limit - which I get - but their signage and warnings are a bit overkill. My site was on a corner so it was bigger than most but still very tight. We parked two vehicles with one sticking out on the roadway a tad. I was really taken aback by the lack of square footage of our site. It was probably the smallest we've been to. The pool and playground were new and nicely maintained. There were activities for the kids. A free root beer float social at the pool was an unexpected perk. Bingo was fun and the cash prizes were great. The pond had a deck overlooking it and paddleboats etc that you could use. I would have liked to swing on the porch swing overlooking the pond but someone had their dog on it for hours! They had policies on where dogs could and could not be which I appreciated as I'm not a dog lover, but it wasn't enforced. Someone had their mutt at bingo. The office/store was well supplied and had a nice sitting area with a large fireplace. The wrap around porch was warm and welcoming. I enjoyed speaking with the store clerk who was also a seasonal. Bingo and my conversation with her was the highlight of my stay. Things I didn't care for, aside from the dog hogging up the swing was the site size as mentioned previously, the very, very bumpy roads, and the lack of upkeep on some of the seasonal sites. It also felt that the seasonals ran the ship and sometimes gave off an unwelcoming vibe. I'd give them another shot, if I was traveling with kids but not as a couple or on my own due to the lack of social interaction.

A fun and relaxing campground! This was our 4th visit over…read morethe last three years to Sun Retreats in Lancaster and we had a great time. We have enjoyed the numerous upgrade/updates that have been made throughout the campground since Sun Outdoors has taken over. The site spaces are better than average with tree cover between most of them, except the few near the Friendship Circle. The sites we've stayed in have been very level with good water pressure. SR has lots of accessible amenities including playgrounds, mini-golf, boating and hiking trails. The pools are our favorite amenities. There is a splash pad for small toddlers, a small play pool for beginners, and outdoor pool that is connected to a large indoor pool and a nice hot tub! Many hours have been spent at these pools. A snack bar/restaurant is beside the pool complex. There are weekly activities planned for guests. This past weekend there was a scavenger hunt throughout the campground, which was planned by the seasonal campers. We had a blast running (then borrowing a golf cart) to complete the hunt! One of the things that sets SR Lancaster apart from the other campgrounds are the seasonal campers. We are always impressed how welcoming and friendly the seasonal campers are towards those of us who visit for weekends/short periods. This welcoming attitude does not happen at other campgrounds!! My wife and I said when we are finally ready to have a seasonal site, this would be where we would make our home. We have already booked future visits to return. Highly Recommend.

There were 4 adirondack chairs by the fire pit which was great coz we forgot to bring our folding chairs! lol It was tricky finding the cabins at night though since the area is huge but we managed. We loved the campgrounds and that there are many fun things to do for all ages - there was a painting activity, fishing, wagon ride, live band on a saturday night, they have an arcade, mini golf, pools, etc and our fave was their paddle boats. It a beautiful scene by their lake so even if we dont necessarily have an activity we just go there to stroll and watch the view. Their general store has everything you need as well from first aids, to smores, souvenirs, hoodies, toiletries, breads, milk, everything! and the staff we encountered are all wonderful. We loved riding our golf carts, which we highly recommend renting so you get to cover more ground and get from one place to another quick. Definitely a fun place and a great way to spend some time with the family!

Yes, it is quite hilly throughout the campground, but the individual sites are very level to park the camper with almost no blocks needed. We had two sites this trip with water and electric, but they do have quite a few full hook-up sites. Overall the sites were large, with trees between, providing additional privacy. Except for the Plateau sites, which have the amazing view, the rest of the campground had a great tree cover! Too often private campgrounds attempt to squeeze as many sites as possible and end up with campers on top of their neighbors, but at Starlight, the sites felt very secluded. Water pressure and electric were both great throughout the stay. There is no internet, but we had good cell phone service. The employees in the camp store are amazing and go out of their way to make you feel welcome! I felt everyone went above and beyond to help me from the reservation process through check-in. The camp store is well stocked and also serves hand-dipped ice cream. Starlight is a nice campground to relax or explore central Pennsylvania.

It was quiet. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Our son was getting married and this was reasonably close. The other 2 campgrounds that were other options were on top of the tollway and a shooting range. This was soooo much better. They have sites that look over the valley. The view was breathtaking, but we preferred the shaded sites. If we had a reason to be in the area again, we would certainly return!
