My first couple of experiences with Warrington's Own Buses were terrible, dealing with rude and…read moreabusive drivers but my more recent experiences have improved dramatically, mainly along their CAT5 route, which connects Altrincham in Greater Manchester and Warrington in around 1 hour and 15 minutes, this route overall seems to have much higher quality buses, and nicer drivers too, it connects some useful routes along that such as Altrincham town centre and ASDA/Waitrose supermarkets, and towards the other end it provides a route into Warrington Town Centre from Bank Quay Station. This route is also known as Cheshire Cats. I do wish they had a feature which many other bus companies do now, to track your bus, an overhaul of their current app would be a major improvement which mainly just offers tickets, and "service updates", I wouldn't have even known about the app if it wasn't from hearing about it from a friend in Warrington, as the name of the app doesn't actually feature the bus company's name, it is just "Touch and Go" with the Warrington Own Buses brand appearing in the developer list, and the logo as the app's thumbnail on Apple's App Store Head Office seemed to take my feedback regarding an abusive driver with a professional response, where they promised to deal with it. 3* - Pretty average bus company, if they could improve many of their other routes to meet the standards on the Cheshire Cats, this would be super!

Fingland buses aren't glamorous, they're not big and blue, they don't have a double deck or…read moreanything of the sort. They're basically just buses. And they do the main town down through Oxford Road route and they're not as choc-a-bloc full of drunk and nosiy students as the other bus companies. If you're new to Manchester, you'll need to get used to the weird bus ticketing system where a ticket on one company's bus won't be valid on another's. If you're in a hurry, I would definitely recommend getting the magic bus as they're everywhere and come along every couple of minutes in both directions. You might have to wait a few minutes longer for a Finglands bus.

The interior of the buses are a cracking standard (cushioned seats!); everything however is a bit older then the slick stage coaches, but if it's costing me 40p less I couldn't give a monkeys. For those of us who don't do uni riders or week long passes this is your chariot of choice. Top banana.

Stagecoach is an asset to Liverpool! They far surpass their rivals Arriva, who seem to have to…read moremonopoly on most of the bus routes in and out and around the city. They are the cheapest bus company that I've ever come across, both in Liverpool and over the water on the Wirral. Arriva could do with taking a leaf out of Stagecoaches pricing plan as they truly will be losing business as Stagecoach really do manage to undercut them by up to a third on some fares. Their Mega Rider ticket is just £10 a week and allows 7 days unlimited travel on any of their bus routes. This is far cheaper than the £15/16 alternatives offered by Arriva. Best of all, student travel is just £1 on any of their routes, this is 50p cheaper than Arriva and it makes a real difference if you're getting the bus four or five times a week! But beware, looking scruffy just doesn't cut the mustard sometimes, and you'll have to show your student ID.. So have it handy, and avoid holding the queue up!

Stagecoach Bus Merseyside is arguably the largest bus operator in the Merseyside region which…read moreincludes Lancashire, Cheshire, North Wales, Wirral - some bus routes even go between these boroughs including the X2 which connects Liverpool to Preston, via Southport, at 2 hours and 16 minutes this is one of the largest bus journeys's I've come across, this, by comparison, is about the same length of time as a train into London and enough to get the train from Liverpool to Preston and back, with time to spare via Transpennine Express or even the slow Northern train! It amazes me how Stagecoach Bus in Merseyside hasn't been reviewed since July 2010, which is nearly ten whole years. In that time, so much has changed and it seems Stagecoach have got worse, perhaps that is through the complacency of being ahead in the region for too long with little competition. Due to how big Stagecoach is, if you're planning to use public transport around Liverpool you're pretty much going to have to use either Merseyrail or this. They do run train services to Anfield on a match-day, however because of traffic around the ground and the fact the bus has a further route to go after the stadium, they are forced to divert however despite having signs around Queens Square Bus Station and telling the bus driver where I was going, no one told me about the diversion and even other match-goers on the bus didn't seem to know, this was after a long wait for the bus which seemed to suffer delays as well to make it even worse (luckily I didn't miss kick-off!) Buses are typical Stagecoach across the UK, not too modern in most regards. Despite the growth of Arriva in Liverpool, Stagecoach are still the main players and it really does seem that from service, time-keeping and overall condition of buses they are taking that too granted, yet still anything beats First Manchester which caused me trouble for a great number of years closer to home and I do think they make their routes a little clearer than other operators, even if they don't factor diversions into it. 2*

They run from 7-7 Mon-Sat and 10-6 on Sunday. A great way to get across town fast and cheap, especially if you're wearing heels! There's lots of stops on each route too.

With buses and trams often running behind their schedule, a metro shuttle is a refreshing and almost always reliable alternative. No. 1 that connects the city centre with Piccadilly train station has recently been running well past 9pm, and since it is free it provides a quick and easy ride across town in the evening. To give you an idea about the routes, no. 1 runs from Piccadilly Train Station down King St into Deansgate and back to Piccadilly. No. 2 connects Shudehill via Victoria Train Station with Castlefield and Deansgate. And no. 3 runs from Piccadilly Train Station down Portland St into Quay St and Chapel St, before going down Princess St and Whitworth St back to Piccadilly. In other cities - Liverpool, Leeds, to name a few - they also recently began to operate free city centre buses. They often connect different parts of town, as well as bus stops, metrolink stops, and train stations. You can hop on and off this bus, and the best part is that you don't pay a penny!

I'm struggling to fault The Burnley Bus Company, which is owned and run by Transdev, they do a…read morefantastic job of offering reliable, frequent buses in and around Burnley, an area which would otherwise be left behind and be an almost impossible nightmare to travel around, due to irregular train times and poor pedestrian streets/pavements. They are going above and beyond to fuel and support the passenger experience, which includes investing millions of pounds on brand new buses for the X43 - Witchway, the buses were already comfortable and impressive but they just had to do one-up on themselves, I hate being on buses for a long period of time, especially with their Manchester - Burnley service taking way over an hour, but they find a way to make that journey enjoyable including - A mini-library on the bus, where you can even take buses home and return them on your next visit - Free wi-fi, the wi-fi isn't too fast but at a time where most other major bus companies have removed it due to either cost or COVID reasons, the fact they're maintaining a wi-fi is great - Mobile phone charging, you can charge your phone here through the USB charging or even the wireless charging at certain tables - Tables upstairs or at the back of the bus downstairs, making the journey much more comfortable again. - Orange front of the bus and lights going around a bus which is predominantly black if there was a limousine version of the bus it'd be the Witchway. I also like the stop announcements which don't just announce the stop, but they also announce the route along the way, for example, it gives you a warning before the bus enters the motorway at Prestwich as obviously it won't be able to stop for a while until it heads into Rawtenstall, it also announces when arriving into city/town centres, I've also noticed this on other Burnley Bus Company services too, such as the Mainline services which connect Burnley with a huge chunk of East Lancashire including Clitheroe. The frequency of the buses is still pretty good, buses regularly run on-time and never seem too overcrowded, which is handy especially during the current pandemic, where many operators have cut their services down to a poor level. I also like how different bus services have a different bus lively, but they all seem to stand out and look good inside and out, buses are as clean as they can be, bearing in mind they don't have cleaners on board, another COVID precaution is cleaners getting on/off the bus to sanitise everything at stations along the route, on the X43, someone got on at both Rawtenstall (Mid-way point) and Burnley (terminating point). The drivers always seem friendly too, it seems there are idiots who work for every bus company who are rude, clueless or even abusive, but I've never experienced a driver from Burnley Bus Company to be anything but friendly and eager to help. 5* - Empowering East Lancashire, not just connecting them into Greater Manchester and parts of Yorkshire, but providing a comfortable experience with friendly drivers, all in all, a great company, I just wish they offered more services which served Manchester.

Booking through Expedia wasn't the best experience but visiting the actual location certainly made up for it. I arrived horribly early in the morning off of a long haul flight and was promptly greeted by Caitlin who quickly attended to my rental booking. I asked about upgrade options and Caitlin offered my a choice at different pricepoints, she was determined to meet my needs. I ended up was a great vehicle at a price I don't think is far to disclose, needless to say I was delighted, my expectations were exceeded. I was unclear as to what insurance products I should take and Caitlin took the time to describe to me what was available and what would best meet my requirements for coverage etc. Caitlin even took the time to provide a brief tour of the car so I could ask any questions that I might have. Overall, Caitlin was a wonderful representative of Europcar, I left the site in a car that I was delighted with, having been helped to buy products that best met my wishes, I did not feel like I was sold products, but helped to buy the right ones, this was a reflection of the customer focus and professionalism of Caitlin, I can think of a few car rental firms that could learn a lot from handling a booking the way that Caitlin did, Europcar will be my first stop when it comes to booking my next rental vehicle, I would not ask for or expect a better quality of service. On Friday the 20th December of 2024 I booked a rental vehicle through the Easyjet website,…read morecollecting it from Europcar Manchester Airport at 3:00pm. From the innumerous companies based in Manchester, I chose Europcar as it is a well-reputed company in the market, trustworthy and with relatively affordable prices. According to the booking summary I did not contract any other services or extra options in addition to the car rental. When collecting the vehicle the employee present at the time suggested me to upgrade my cover to a premium insurance, to which I said I was not interested. Upon my answer, your employee gave me several documents to sign under the excuse they were mandatory to the conclusion of the rental contract. The car was returned with a full tank, without any faults or damage, something that was checked by your staff at the time of delivery. I was completely gobsmacked and furious when I received the invoice where you Europcar charged me almost double the amount that had been previously agreed. I will bring again to your attention that I did not contract or subscribed to any extra services, neither at the time of booking nor at the time of collection. After reading SEVERAL feedbacks from other dissatisfied customers on several internet pages, I can finally understand where the issue relies: Because I refused the premium insurance, the employee took advantage of my apparent rush to collect the car keys and the fact that I was a foreigner and non English native, to give me the premium insurance contract to sign mixed up with other paperwork. This is fraud, and you are accountable for it. Unfortunately this situation, which is very difficult to prove, seems to be recurring and many customers were scammed in this way (you can find plenty similar cases here in Google Feedback, for example). That said, my only question is: Are your employees who, in search of commission money, deceive Europcar customers? Or is Europcar the one encouraging employees to carry out this type of fraudulent scheme? Until what extend are you as a company involved in this fraudulent scheme? Either options are despicable and reprehensible. Considering Europcar has been operating since 1949 and has a reputation to uphold, you should be ashamed of your employees actions and take responsibility for their misdeeds. I expect nothing than a full refund covering the extra money that was abusively withdrawn from my account, and for the employees who have been carrying such fraud to be sanctioned and brought to justice. I expect an answer from you within the next 15 days, and in the case of failure I will seek further action with legal authorities. I will also report this matter to the GOV.UK, Trading Standards Institute and to the ECRCS. You can fool me once, but you won't fool twice. As someone who travels to England twice a year, I will never use your services again, and I will make sure this situation is widely spread.
