The good: The gym is jam-packed with equipment for everything you could possibly want to do. The counter staff are friendly, and there's childcare for the kids. Everything is pretty decently maintained. There's a ton of different machines for all types of workouts, a pool, classes -- by this merit alone this gym is better than planet fitness! Haha. The bad: Always packed. Some of the machines are facing each other which is really awkward (having someone stare into your eyes while you're exercising your hip flexors....yeah awkward!!) and as with any gym there are meatheads and bros -- but I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing (I know some people do, though). It's a quality gym, just wish it was bigger like the other locations. Also, price is a factor BUT there are tons of employee discounts offered. Still more affordable than sports and wellness! Haha.

This location is really close to me…read more Half the main workout area is about 4 rows of cardio machines, maybe like 25% is a functional fitness area. The rest is machines along with a spot for a dumbbell area and there is a row of 4-5 smith machines. There is 1 leg press machine that you can use with free weights. I've never used the locker room, so I can't speak on that. Otherwise this place is fine, it's always been clean and I've only interacted with the front desk when checking in and it's been fine. This facility doesn't have everything I would want in a gym for my personal needs, but it will not stop me from coming here because it is so close and has always been clean. There is plenty of parking, but it could use an update on painting lines. As long as you know what equipment is at whatever workout facility you want to workout at either within PF or outside, it's on the consumer to make that decision of what they want to do. I'm taking down a star because the Internet has been spotty and laggy for me in there, I don't ever use public wifi. This is when I need to check my email or load up an app on my phone, it can take a while for it to load. With that all being said this facility is great.. if you choose to work out here, just be aware of what equipment is available.

I asked the clerk politely to turn it down he didn't reply, acted like he turned it down but did nothing. I listen to heavy metal and even at 100% volume the gyms music was coming through clearer than my own music. Nearly 100% of the people at the gym were wearing headphones. Keep the music down. It's 2026 and everyone has their own headphones. Theres no need to have it blasting at peak volume. Be courteous of the members.

After moving here, my husband and I were set on finding a good gym for our lifting and after trying half a dozen we tried out Designer Bodies and knew it was perfect for what we needed. It's not as large as some gyms around here but the equipment is some of the best I've seen and the owners are always around. There are a few things that could improve, but hopefully as the membership grows some of those things will happen naturally. I would love if they were able to move all the cardio and yoga mat stuff into a separate back room, it would give more privacy to them and more space for lifting equipment (another squat rack!). Another thing would be if the music changed. Currently, it's a little on the mellow side and I prefer a gym with upbeat music playing over the grunts of everyone working out. I also would love if they had longer hours as my job prevents me from getting in before they close on some nights. But again, these are all small things that are not going to prevent you from having a killer workout. I love the vibe here. Some people, like myself, like to get in and get out, and you can do that here. You can also hang out, like others do, and everyone seems to be pretty friendly so that's cool too.

This gym offers all the classic equipment that you need to do almost any training that your heart desires, it also has a huge room where group classes are held. The feeling and hospitality is like none other. They have personal trainers there. I had the pleasure of working with Ryan, he is very knowledgeable, and also a good listener. He tailors the plans to meet your goals and does not try to push things on you that will not benefit you. If you live in the Belen area and are in search of a new place to call home this is it. After a few months using Sports and Wellness's Riverpoint's facilities, we put our membership on…read morehold and were charged were charged $20 and a small monthly fee by this sports club until we resumed it. We agreed to be charged $20 for September 2025 for putting this on hold. We were told we could not use their facilities for that month, September, but could resume at any time without further charges. We then decided to cancel after six months and informed them. Another $20 charge soon appeared on our credit card statement. Assuming this was an inadvert error, we followed up by contacting them by phone. We had been told when we put this on hold that canceling would not incur further chardes. We ended up calling numerous times, talking with their personnel including the manager at the Riverpoint office, Sean. We were told frequently he was "out of the office". We emailed, also, but he did not respond. Sean was very personable when we enrolled. In fact, no one ever got back to us about being charged $40 for both last September and after we canceled and not being able to use their facilities We only requested a $20 reimbursement for the second month we could not use their facilities. That's such a simple matter to resolve. Better Business Bureau was not an alternative since this corporation does not belong to it. We had no alternative but to resort to calling Sports and Wellness' regional office in Denver. The Denver office took all our information on our inability to resolve this and our attempts at talking with the ABQ office and were told they would relay all of this to Sean, who would get back to us. He never responded to us after the regional office's contact nor did they. Finally, we took this to the Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs of our concerns and the attempts to resolve this overcharge. first with their Albuquerque office, which then recommended filing with the state's AG. They have not responded to the AG's office. We've been told that this company has a very low rating. The AG's Consumer Affairs in Santa Fe will attempt once again to pursue this overcharge and for consumers inability to use facilities while charging for it. So, consumers should consider all these reviews. As a note, the AG's Consumer Affairs office recommend contacting them for such issues and will tract and act on these. Hopefully, their office can determine if these complaints are widespread or local.

When I went this morning (10 am), no attendant or manager was present. The place is so run down. The equipment is old and worn out, it needs to be replaced. I used their cycling bike and it was making a noise when pedaling. The carpet has so many gross stains that needs to be replaced. Equipment not connected, with cables lose on the carpet that it is a major hazard. The walls are scratched, split wooden floor planks that are dangerous to the members. The tiled floor is chipped in several locations. No disinfectant wipes, but a spray bottle with some un-known cleaning solution and paper towels. This location does NOT represent well the brand. Maybe the owners gave up since they have Defined Fitness across the street. What a shame.

At least 6 pieces of equipment are currently broken. With past equipment breakages, it has taken up to 18 months to fix or replace. Manager told me that if I complained about broken equipment or need for new equipment he would ban me from the gym. Problem solved: finished my workout, went across the street to Defined Fitness, signed up with them, and cancelled my Anytime Fitness membership. Same equipment across the street only more of it and in better condition. Now when a piece of equipment breaks, there will still be 4 or 5 other pieces of the same equipment that won't require "inventing" an exercise to replace the one I would normally have done.
