Eagle Restoration is essentially, as it sounds, a restoration company. To my slim knowledge of their background and credentials, it appears they mainly deal with mold and mildew remediation.
A pipe burst in the condo above ours, so one of the walls making up our bathroom was slightly ruined. Before moving in they did alert us that there was mold behind our bathroom wall but that they would take care of it. Mind you, this was pretty much after money was given and paperwork was signed, so it was a bit unprofessional. Either way, Nicklin Property Management hired this team (Eagle Restoration) to come in and take down the wall, clean it up, put a wall back up and hook all of our appliances back up. Little did we know, they'd be taking our appliances not only out of the bathroom but our laundry room, too.
My boyfriend and I were forced to stay in a hotel for what they guessed, would take a week and a half. We were disgruntled as this uprooted our life for a while, but we went with it, going by our condo every few days sparingly to check it out (we were staying maybe a mile up the street so this was convenient). Our water heater was in the middle of our living room, same with the washer, dryer, bathroom mirror, sink and toilet. We figured this was normal, as the two rooms were basically quarantined off with tape and solid white plastic. The first few days were fine, until we started to get into the middle of the first week.
The first time we went to the apartment to pick up a package that was delivered to our front door, no one was even inside. We also didn't hear anything or anyone working behind the plastic sheets (they were taped up so much we couldn't even look/get inside the bathroom areas). Mind you, this was 11am on a week day. My boyfriend and I found this to be very suspicious, but our suspicions were made worse when a few days later we came back around the same time to find the condo empty again!
We alerted Nicklin Property of our findings. We were also in touch with the manager named Bill Harrison, who was in charge of the team coming into our condo to do the remediation. Getting solid information and time-lines from this man was like pulling teeth. Bill would never call us, the condo owner OR Nicklin Property to tell us what that status was, how much longer it would take his team, etc. My boyfriend and I found ourselves doing all of the following up and calling - this should have been an even bigger red flag but it was out of our hands as we weren't the ones that hired Eagle to begin with. The weekend before what would have actually put us at two weeks, Bill calls my boyfriend stating he has good news. He told us that they would more than likely be finishing "early", so Monday would be our lucky day! My boyfriend and I were ecstatic, as we just wanting to be home already. Hotel life is only fun for a few days, then it gets obnoxious.
Monday rolls around and we hear nothing. This made our stomachs sink. We call Bill again, but he delivers bad news, saying it will be done Friday at the latest as they are running behind. Long story short, we weren't able to come home until Wednesday of the next week. We told Bill that Wednesday at noon we would be checking out of the hotel and going home (he found this to be okay), but again on Wednesday, we hear nothing from him. Frustrated and tired, we enter our condo with our plethora of suitcases to find not only was our water heater still in the middle of our living room, but our sink, washer, dryer and toilet was there too! Nothing had been touched whatsoever, the only thing we found that was different was the bathroom area wasn't blocked off anymore. Might I also mention, NO ONE WAS EVEN THERE.
There was McDonalds trash and random cups strewn about our little rocky area next to our front door and our bathroom tub had pipes sitting in it, with an empty cardboard bag that looked to have perhaps contained cement. Our place was trashed after three weeks in, no appliances had even been hooked up.
Needless to say, we called Nicklin about this and we are assuming they tore into someone with Eagle Restoration because about an hour into us unpacking, a plumbing company knocked on our door and they took the initiative to clean the place up and finish was Eagle FAILED to do. The last thing we have heard in regards to this company, is that the landlord of our condo is having to go to HOA because even HE has not heard from Eagle Restoration! While Bill was respectful, my boyfriend and I both feel this company is sketchy and we will be urging our landlord to do business with some other company if this EVER comes up again! They were slow, lazy, clumsy, dirty and Bill never even checked up on his workers to see if they were doing a proper job! Communication was terrible and our landlord had to pay for our hotel stay, which extended way past the time span they originally quoted us! Go with another mold remediation company, not Eagle! read more
