This is literally the worst place to visit in the area. The service, amenities and skiing are sub par. The units are old, outdated and dirty. There was old food still in the oven when we arrives, dirty dished in the cabinets and no hot water. They keep the power off until you get there to a frozen unit. They call themselves a resort but they are just a hell hole with a bunch of privately owned units that are lumped together. We hoped the skiing would make up for how awful everything else was but the skiing was just as bad and the rest of this place. Super short runs all crammed together. You spend the entire day on the lift freezing because there just isnt enough run to warm you up. It was about 25 seconds back to the bottom to ride the lift. Not to mention the lift was shut down half the time we were there leaving 1 green run. My kids hated it and we will never go back. I urge everyone to consider brianhead or park city. Even the Las Vegas ski is better than this place. read more

A Great Family Resort! I noticed they were offering free lift tickets to California residents to get the word out about the resort which re-opened a couple years ago with new owners after being closed for several years so we thought we would give it a try and boy are we glad we did! The Highlights: 1. Great staff - everyone went out of their way to help or make us feel welcomed 2. Great Facilitites - the buildings are all remodeled with have good food at reasonable prices 3. Great family terrain - It is a good size resort for families looking for a place that the younger ones won't get lost or be over their heads while offering some tougher runs for the advanced ones. 4. No Crowds! - If you are tired of long lift lines and having to be on constant alert for out of control idiots, this is the place to go! What it is not - please note, this is not a mega-resort, so advanced, big mountain skiers will get bored after a few days and it is not a party place, so I would not recommend it for young singles looking for night life read more

Being from Southern California, it's quite hard to describe to somehow how much better Utah snow is to someone who's never experienced it. I also live part time in Beaver, so I may be biased as well. I LOVE Eagle Point. It's my kind of resort. It's small, secluded, and not as popular as say Big Bear, which I believe is the arm pit of ski resorts. Brian Head, the mountain across the way, is more for the blue run skier, whereas Eagle Point definitely has more black runs. Not quite the black runs you would find in the Salt Lake area, but black runs none of the less. read more

Last season we brought a group of 25 young adults from Southern California and we had a blast. We had skiers and boarders of all abilities and everyone reported a great experience. There is tubing as well. Several beginners took advantage of great prices for rentals/lessons. The runs aren't as long as some other places, but with absolutely no lift lines, fresh pow, no one else on the runs, & free tickets (2012/13 was free for CA residents, this season $25-$47 depending on day of week) it is WELL worth it- we can get our group lodging & out on the slopes for 4 days/3 nights for less than $200 per person. Our old spot was Mammoth- where the trip is more like $400 per person. Took one star off for not many food options- there are some lodges on the mountain with some burgers & other food, but not full menus. No restaurants. We cooked for ourselves and it worked out great. read more

My sister and I moved from NH to Orange County, CA in January in hopes of skiing some of California's awesome snowy terrain. We didn't expect to be traveling into the driest year California has seen in decades.. however, with the year ending early in SoCal, we found out that Eagle Point was honoring CA season passes so we did what any snow loving kids would do, we ventured to Utah (March 20-23, 2014). We weren't expecting much from the little unknown resort but we got a big shock upon stepping onto that fresh cord first thing in the morning. Not only were we surprised at the amazing snow conditions, the grooming was that of it's northern neighbors up in the SLC and PC areas. Although the chairlifts are slow, it gives you ample time to digest the shock and awe you'll feel when you realize what a gem you just found! On top of the snow conditions and grooming, this place has great customer service, which is rare in ski resorts these days. My sisters and I had no problems getting our tickets by just showing our CA ski passes and were in and out in about 35 seconds. The resort itself is beautiful and the updates they've done to the Canyonside Lodge are absolutely amazing. Since we didn't have to pay for our ski tickets while in town, we thought we'd try out The Outpost Grill. To put it simply, this food is that of a 5 star restaurant and the pricing targets your average restaurant goer at around $12 per entree (big portions). The two days we ate at the Outpost Grill we had the sliders, the burger (AMAZING) w/onion rings, arugula salad w/ and amazing citrus vinaigrette, potato skins, calamari, and the bean/bacon soup. Their executive chef Jimmy chatted with us for a while as we finished eating and he's awesome. We couldn't give any more praise for his work in the kitchen and the menu he put together because we would literally eat anything and everything on it. I can't even describe how much my sisters and I loved Eagle Point. We wish we lived a bit closer so we could visit more often but we'll definitely be back We look forward to the friendly staff, awesome skiing and riding, and amazing dining; until next season! If you are tired of the overly groomed runs and crowded ski resorts of everywhere else, then this is your place! Beautiful and cozy lodges, fun runs, room for movement and enjoyment of the mountain with gorgeous views. So affordable, it won't break your bank like every other resort. We stayed 2 nights in a quaint condo at the bottom lodge area. It was the perfect ski in/out location near the black chutes. True enthusiasts are guaranteed to love this place! Helpful hint: I suggest you find the Cache Valley Cheese shop in Beaver, UT and buy some delicious cheese curds! read more

Spent Saturday there for free. Usually go to Brianhead a couple times per year for a few days. This was a nice change of scenery, Same family vibe and only about an hour away. The resort has two distinct sides. The upper side caters to beginner and intermediate. The lower side is mostly advanced. The advanced side was at least as good as anything at Brianhead. The snow here was very good. Protected from wind and did not crust over. The area has huge potential for expansion. Only drawback is that it was not possible to ski from the lower to the upper. Perhaps future expansion will address this. The food was very good. Will add this resort to our Brianhead trips. read more

This is a GREAT ski place for families. This was a perfect place for my kids, 5 yr. and 8 yr., to learn to ski for the first time! The staff was really friendly and it was not crowded at all. The snow was awesome and the runs were gentle. Also, I didn't have to worry about my little kids being run over by unruly snowboarders, even during the President's weekend. Because we skied for free (we are from California), I wanted to give 5 stars but I just could not. First they ran out of hotdogs at the Skyline cafe during the President's weekend. Then, they have slow 4 chairs and the runs are quite short. The more challenging runs are on the bottom mountain and still it has limited runs. I am on the intermediate/expert side and I was bored pretty fast. So if you have limited ski funds and looking for a family friendly place, this is for you! p.s. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Beaver, which was a $79/night for the suite. It has a nice indoor swimming pool and I highly recommend it. Also, they seemed to have 1 pizza place in town, which was awesome. They "grow" their cheese locally. read more

Awesome ski resort! All the staff here are very friendly. I came up from Vegas to use my free pass from snow jam and I was very surprised by the runs. I am an experienced snowboarder and I get very bored by the few black runs at Brian head and there are a ton of great runs here! The right side of the experiences mountain does not have a lift but there is a free snow cat service to take you over there. Not a ton of wind here like there is at Brian head due to the tree coverage. Very snowy and not a lot of ice. The lodge at the expert mountain is awesome! Very homey and nice, comfortable couches and games. All in all definitely worth the extra 45 min to go here over Brian head. read more

Im going to keep it short and get to the 'point' with this review. 3.5hr easy drive from Vegas and cheap lift tickets if you buy them early online. Absolutely ridiculous resort reservations. The resort double booked our cabin reservation, then did NOTHING to accommodate our large party but offer a more expensive lodging with NO PRICE BREAK! They obviously don't know how to run reservations if the owners of units and the resort are BOTH booking! Watch out! You might not have a real reservation, contract or no contract! So I have to edit my previous review after returning home from our week at Eagle Point. Yes, the reservations were extremely frustrating, especially because we had never been to EP. However, we had the BEST time during our visit. We are a young family with beginner skiers/boarders that were on the blue & black runs by the end of our trip. This resort is so family friendly and easily accessible, it was perfect! Loved the ski in/out options and the staff was helpful and friendly. Two storms blew threw during our visit and we experienced the softest snow ever! No crowds, fun trails, and a family friendly environment makes this definite return visit for our family! Oh, and we LOVED FREE SKIING/BOARDING for Cali residents!!!!!! read more

Ski season is approaching and I was just thinking how excited we are to plan our trip to Eagle Point. We have been there twice before, and let me tell you, this place blows Brianhead away! The lifts are not crowded at all, especially on the weekends, no lines! The runs are longer than Brianhead and all the snow is natural, NO man made snow. The staff is hands down the best, super friendly & very helpful. And the prices on everything is so much more reasonable, from the room to the lift tickets. And they only charged us $10 to wax a board! The food in the lodge is really good too. It is so worth the extra 30-45 minute drive past Brianhead from Vegas. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! You wont be disappointed, cant wait to go this year! read more

Just got back from my second visit here. Love this resort! We left Las Vegas Friday morning and arrived in about 4 hours after a gas/snack stop. It was warm when we arrived, about 45-50* or so, but it dropped into the teens overnight. The first night, we were not able to do any runs because it would have been too late by the time we got tickets and gear. We stayed in the Wooded Ridge area condo homes and it was fantastic! Our friends stayed upstairs from us. We had a 1 bedroom with a king bed, queen sofa sleeper, full kitchen, washer and dryer. There is a patio out back overlooking the slopes. We went to the lodge for some drinks before dinner, and there were maybe 5 people in there...on a Friday night! It was GREAT! Saturday morning, we woke up early, I took a snowboarding lesson with Hunter at 1015am. I was the only adult in class, so it became a private lesson for about 2.5 hours! Woo Hoo! Colter is the ski school supervisor and is super nice. Hunter was a great instructor, being very patient with me after multiple falls and 1 hour to get down the hill. I learned SOOOO much and happy I took the lesson! So proud of myself for trying again after failing miserably years ago! After the lesson, we headed back to the condo for lunch and went back up the hill to take another run. I made it down without falling! Thank you Hunter! Not busy at all all weekend! While the conditions were not the greatest due to the lack of snow they had recently, between Saturday night and this morning, it was pretty soft powder which would have made for a great day today, had I not been so sore. :( My friend's talked about going back up in February and I am already looking forward to it. The friend I traveled with is already talking about going up next year and bringing her boyfriend and his 3 kids. \ Btw, the Outpost Grill near the main lodge for accommodation check in, is fantastic! Kudos to the chef/chefs! The food is great!! While waiting for my friends to arrive after some runs, we ordered the nachos, huge order for about $9.00! Each individual nacho had toppings on it, not a huge pile just sprinkled with crap. This morning, we had some breakfast before heading out, breakfast sandwich either on a bagel or english muffin with egg, cheese, bacon/ham/or sausage. IT was a perfect portion. Two bloody marys and we are good to go!!! I want to tell everyone I know to go check out Eagle Point so they can continue their expansion, but at the same time, I'm selfishly thinking I don't want others to know about it because it's such a hidden gem. Skied at Eagle Point Friday, February 24, 2017. Conditions were amazing. Great snow and impeccable grooming on the "left" side of the area. Was told by an employee that they have a new grooming machine. Grooming on "right" side hadn't caught up and one lift closed, other wise could have given the fifth star. Friendly staff except for the shuttle bus driver who seemed a little strange. read more

Skied at Eagle Point March 1-3rd and really liked it. First of all, it was almost completely empty. Saturday was the most crowded and even then, I never had more than 1 person before me in line. Coming from SoCal, that was unbelievable. Second the snow quality was excellent. Powdery snow. Excellent runs. Some of the ungroomed black runs were equivalent to double-blacks at any Southern California resort. Third, every economical. Lift tickets were free for Californians (thanks so much). Even pvt lessons were much cheaper than at other resorts. Probably the best place to learn/improve. Another really nice feature -- ATT actually has very good connections on the slopes and on the lifts. Somehow inside Outback Grill the connection isn't as good, but it is always easier to find friends when you have good cell phone coverage. read more

Our family went to Eagle Point over Christmas and it couldn't have been better! Besides the lack of crowds and the beauty of the montains, the food in the Lower Lodge was superb - really!- and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We were lucky to be there until a new storm forced us to leave early. Our SIL learned to snowboard and his two boys learned to ski and snowboard. What great instructors they had! read more

We spent the later part of the holidays skiing/snowboarding at Eagle Point and it was fantastic! The staff treated us like family and were all super friendly. Jody, Colter, Lane, Roger, Sean, Davis, Hunter, Bobby, Mark, Carol, etc. were the best! Our cabin was very comfortable and we had a great view! The food in the main hall was very delicious and affordable. We hope to visit them every holiday season. read more

I love visiting Eagle Point! It is always a ton of fun, and never crowded! The staff is all very friendly, especially Carol, who works at the upper lodge. She went out of her way multiple times to make sure that everyone in our very large group had a great experience. I have come back to Eagle Point every year for three years and it is always a blast. As this is a new (reopened) resort in southern Utah, I'd love for it to succeed, but they need to make some changes. First off on the good: 1. There are few skiers. 2. Beautiful scenery 3. Low cost (as it is new, they had $30 lift tickets and if they ever get to full price, it is still only $45) 4. Beginner friendly terrain 5. Friendly and very helpful staff. 6. I did not try out the dining area/restaurant, but it looked very nice. 7. Tubing run Ok, now for the bad. 1. There is mainly only beginner and advanced runs, and very little intermediate, even though it is advertised as 50% of the terrain. The upper mountain intermediate runs are more like harder beginner runs. 2. How about truth in advertising? They advertise a half pipe and it is not completed. They show many open runs on the lower/advanced slopes but you have to walk to them to access them (how about a sign at the lift, website and trail map saying that anything past Anasazi Freefall is walk-in only?? This affects the majority of the runs on that slope). The lift that serves these other runs is not functioning. 3. How about some signs? They close most of the runs on the advanced slope at 3:30 with a rope, close the lift to all of those runs at 4:00 (advertise a closing time of the resort of 4:30), and have no sign (not even a dry erase board) telling people this!! Argh!! How about some signs along the road showing the path to the upper lodge? 4. Better design of the lift departure area on the intermediate ski area. People would stop immediately after getting off and block traffic. I saw one person bloodied in the face because of this! Either add more space to get off or have staff directing traffic/notifying people to move along. 5. Only 4 functioning lifts. 6. Rentals only at the upper lodge. Yes, you have to use a shuttle to get back to the upper mountain area, but there is a shuttle every 10 minutes so it is no big deal. I can recommend this resort for beginners and anyone that wants to explore new terrain (but if you have intermediate skills, immediately head to the advanced area of the resort). read more

Do NOT recommend this place at all. Terrible customer service and they lie. They claim to have a refundable booking policy for military but then won't honor it. Gave them 24+ hours notice that I'd have to check out a night early to be back for work and they said they would try to re book it. That same night there website said they were full and they were telling people they were full over the phone. When I asked for the refund they said they weren't able to re book it because the house keeper couldn't clean it in time (note- we checked out before 1000 that morning...). When I told the "manager" I was going to post about the experience she said "good luck". This is how little they care about customer service. There is zero wifi or cell phone access at the entire place. Also, claim to have direct TV but it didn't work. One place to eat, limited menu, and my husband was immediately sick after eating there. The bathroom had holes in the wall, carpets were dirty, overall run down. The only good thing about this place is the skiing itself. Come up for the day to ski but don't stay. read more

I heard that this resort was free for california residents. After a moment of disbelief, i googled eagle point and found out that it was true. After budgeting for food $80, gas $189, and motel $153. I was able to have a three day on the slopes family ski vacation for less than $450!!! You can't do that for even one day at Mammoth!!! It snowed 1 1/2 feet of that great one of a kind dry southern Utah powder over the weekend while we were there. The mountain has some fun expert areas and intermediate area's with a small park. The staff are the best and most patient i have ever met. I have two small children (6 & 2), so me and my wife took turns boarding while the other was watching the kids. We basically picked out the corner table in the upper lodge and made ourselves at home. Not only did they not mind on bit, the even helped while my 2 year old was having and offered my wife some apple juice. On the first day my 6 year old refused to ski with daddy since it was to cold and stormy out side. The manager let me return her rentals with a full refund, try doing that at Mt. High or Mammoth!!! Overall, this is a great resort for families and those who aren't trying to ride like pro's and drop cliffs. The park was fun, but small and not very challenging. However i didn't come to Eagle Point to ride a park, i can stay in socal for that. I came for tree runs, open pow fields, and fun little terrain drops and i got ALLOT of that while i was here with my family. The only con i can think of are the ski lifts. All but one are SLOW. The only resort that i can think of that has slower lifts is Mt. Baldy back in L.A.. Since i came here with small children i can't really comment on the local night life, but the lower lodge had a nice bar and shuffle board table in it when i checked it out, plus hot tubs right next to it. Overall i have to say that this is the best deal any californian can get right now if you want to ride real powder instead of sierra cement and not pay an arm and a leg to get it. read more
