We love the convenience to I-75, and a Publix grocery store is only 2 miles down Bay Shore Road. Lee Memorial Hospital is only a 10-mile drive which is also very convenient, for people who like to be near a major hospital.
The name of the salesperson we worked with is "Dave Grech" and we highly recommend him! Dave has sold real estate for many decades, and he is very knowledgeable of SW Florida's housing market.
Dave is an astute listener, and he will help you find the perfect lot, model, and elevation that suits your liking and budget. Be sure to ask him to show you all of the "Quick Move In's" or "QMI's" to see what empty, unfurnished, undecorated models look like. QMI's are tastefully done, and they eliminate the need for numerous trips and countless decisions, when designing a model, from the ground up.
To get a real feel for the community, its amenities, and the residents, I recommend booking a two day "Stay & Play" reservation, that is cheaper, than most hotel suites. Our two days' stay helped us decide that Oak Creek is the right fit for us. During our stay, we also visited several other communities - "Pelican Preserve," "The Plantation," "Bridgetown," Valencia Harbor," and "Verandah." Some had more acres to roam and more mature and extensive landscaping and onsite golf courses, that also comes with higher HOA costs, and one time "buy in fees."
We decided upon Oak Creek because we are not regular golfers and because we prefer to live amongst 55 and older residents who have also relocated to a new community. During the present time of writing this review, the community is only 40% built out, which still allows for selecting lots with water views, or lots that back up to the preserve.
