When the salesmen came out, I was very clear I wanted French doors. He advised me to get a sliding patio door and upgrade to French doors later which was just insane to me. He told me to consider it and wrote my estimate for sliding doors and said it would be another $1000 for French doors instead. When they came out to take measurements, I reinforced that I wanted French doors not sliding doors. Then when they were being ordered (5 months after I initially met with the salesman) I was told French doors were going to be a $2k+ upgrade and that they had no idea where the salesman got the $1k from. Paul was absolutely wonderful and worked really hard with me to reach a solution and have nothing but kind things to say about him. Now we're in January (this whole process started in June) and when I spoke to Brittany on the phone last week Tuesday to set up install date I asked her what my remaining balance was, she told me $4600 (rounded). But then this morning when I go to pay the remaining balance I'm told they forgot to add in an additional $1600. I've managed 2 offices in my career, a car lot and a flooring company. Never in my life would I ever tell someone one total and then send someone to collect payment and give them a higher total, extremely unethical. I have budgeted and saved and picked up overtime hours for the total I was given and now it's once again "I don't know where they got that number from." Whoever is running their office needs to be replaced.

I truly dont think you will find a better product in the Wilmington area....they truly build great decks....for those that want to read....I will take you thru our process..... If you want a quick turnaround on your deck, dont count on it, it will take several months. They are busy. Process- Salesman arrives in March...he is fantastic and helps us solve a couple of issues we had concerns with...two other companies did not. He explained procedure....10% down, if you cancel you lose half of your deposit...40% when they start and balance of 50% when project completed. You will have to submit plans to HOA for approval, they will take care of all the other permits...very convenient. We had our down payment in by the end of March and were put in Que...we were told the completion date would be mid June to late June.....their price was higher than the other two quotes....significantly, however; the product and design offered is far superior...pay the money, you wont be sorry. No communication from the end of March forward until I contacted them during the first week of June to ask about start dates....I was told they were waiting on permits...so I checked on line...its public information...our permits were not put in until May 31st....this delayed the build...the project started around July 17th and was completed on August 2nd. I feel the permits could of gone in much sooner to keep on schedule. There were a couple of hiccups during the build that we caught before they became a major issue...I would highly recommend you be home for the build to insure it is how you envisioned the project. These minor issues were solved easily and without concern, but if they were not caught before/during construction could of been an issue. One of the issues was a change we made after agreeing to a certain build height of the pergola, but while watching it being built realized it was to low...they raised it, no problem. The other was a cosmetic design that was sold to us but was not conveyed to the contractor....this was also caught early and rectified. The last was the underpinning...we thought it was included with the build because the deck was two levels and found out at the end it was not. They gave us a very fair price to add it on and completed it without hassle. They also gave us a price to have the pergola painted once it has time to weather. All of the Owners/team members I had contact with were easy to deal with....Glenn, Mark, Dino and Josue were fantastic. The deck is awesome, constructed extremely well and in the end thats what matters....I would chose them again without question.

Top notch service!…read more I recently had my Sunesta awning get stuck in the open position. The motor failed and the weather forecast was for wind and showers. I contacted Express Sunrooms on a Friday night and Jeff and Scott responded the next morning securing the awning in its closed position and diagnosing the motor problem. The motor arrived about 2 weeks later and Jeff installed it. In addition, he noticed the brackets pulling away from the house because the house was not designed to hold an awning, so Express Sunrooms re-installed the awning with a header board that not only looks nice but will hold the awning securely. I cannot say enough good things about the service, response and professionalism that Express Sunrooms in Ladson demonstrated in solving this problem for me. I am very comfortable in highly recommending them to anyone seeking products and services that they offer.

Then the installation crew damaged the framing to my porch. I asked him more than once if the job was either too small or, he didn't think he'd be able to do it, from either a skill or time perspective. The responses were: Not too small, no problem doing it, timing within 3 weeks. I left that meeting with a very positive feeling. The Bad: - Approaching 3 weeks, NO John. NO response to a couple texts. He did respond to a phone call. He told me he had been away and didn't get my texts. At least one of the texts I had sent him was when he was still around (Besides, the last I knew, wherever you are on the planet, texts still come through when you get back within signal range). He said he would do the job after my company left. After the they left, and over the next 3 weeks, I contacted him no less than 3 times. His responses: [i'm just finishing a job and could be at my place by the end of the week], [just finishing a job and can be there in a few days], [ just finishing a job and i'm clear after that so i'll be able to get over to your house]..Never showed or, had the courtesy to text/call to tell me he would not be doing the job. My final text to him asked if he was still planning to do the job and, if not, to let me know so I could look elsewhere. Yep, you guessed it, NO response. I wasted close to 2 months waiting on him. Good craftsman or not, he is certainly not on my 'recommend' list.

Work was expected to start in December 2023 or January 2024. We have not received any contact from Steve or his company since June 29th when we received a copy of the contract. Their phone is no longer accepting calls, they are not returning e-mails or FB Messenger messages, and it appears that their business office has been closed. I am hoping that they will contact me to resolve this issue and I do not have to report them to the State Licensing board and file a claim in Small Claims court.
