She enjoyed seeing something more stimulating than hospital-like walls, as the driver, Art, took a scenic route to Walnut Creek. Art was courteous and conscientious, and he waited through the doctor visit to drive us back again. The ride appointment was booked by a third party, and I discovered a scheduling mixup when I called to confirm. Pam the dispatcher was very reassuring as she straightened it out and got the Medic Shuttle to us on time. Pam later called me back to say the error had been at their end and they were investigating to make sure it didn't happen again. Pam wanted to make sure I wasn't blaming the innocent third party; I thought that showed kindness as well as integrity. It may seem odd to write a fivestar review that features a mistake, but we all make mistakes. How a company owns up to their mistake tells you a lot about their character. They knew what they were doing helping my grandma onto the gurney. They made sure my grandma oxygen tank was on and even at the house. The staff is so mean to the residents, treats them like they are nobody, feeds them awful food that doesn't even look edible, force feeds them down their throats, etc. I simply can't believe how people work here and are okay with the way these residents are being treated. My heart aches for the residents and family who are being "cared" for in here. If you don't believe me look up all the law suits, they even changed their facility name. I noted that I needed him to be carried part way to the transport vehicle and strapped into his wheelchair. They sent one person with no ability to strap him into his wheelchair so he was transported on a bench-really hard for a 91 year old with no musculature. I sent my own caretaker with the van. The caretaker got him into and out of the venue. Upon returning to our home (again on a bench), the driver dropped my husband out of his wheelchair onto our front steps and had to get the help of our caregiver to get him back into the wheelchair (my husband was exhausted and really scared) and into the house and back in bed. I needed 2 strong people, reliable wheelchair stability, and knowledge of how to safely transport him to and from the destination. I warn any prospective customer who has not previously contracted with SC Medical to find other resources.
