The BEST Tree Service in NW Florida! We were in awe of Eager Beaver Professional Tree Care, LLC! Crew of four Beavers arrived two weeks ahead of anticipated service. Everyone from initial contact Troy, to scheduler Jennifer were professional, timely, honest. Beavers: Alex, Brett, Brandon and Andrew delivered over-the-top job [exceeded bid specifications], AND continued cleanup long after I'd paid and given Beavers a generous and well-deserved tip. My wife and I enjoyed watching hard and diligent work from the young Beavers. [FUN CREW: one Beaver riding our rope swing made me start worrying about liability if he swung over the roof. But Eager Beaver is licensed and insured.] Price: Eager Beaver easily out bid ALL competitors we could find. We got bids from three other companies. * The TOP TWO ranked BBB businesses were OVER 4X Beaver bid! * [Eager Beaver beat runner up by $50;; incidentally, that firm had done our trees for 15 years, and we wanted to re-hire them; however, it had changed hands and the new philosophy grated on us.] Service: * The TOP TWO ranked BBB businesses responded days after the estimate, and were NOT communicative at all. These guys deserved our tip. Equipment was a green "nifty SP50" crane that navigated our back yard with almost zero impact; a chipper ate all debris as Beaver crew carried and fed it in our drive. I signed a contract with Joc from Eager Beaver on Feb. 4, 2021, to remove an old diseased oak, trim a large Magnolia, and to cable and trim a young River Birch. They completed the first two on the list but did not have the appropriate person that day to cable and trim the birch and vowed to return. They did not return until Sept. 30, 2021. I finally paid for the job on that day because I thought it was going to be completed. After they left, I noticed that it wasn't trimmed - only cabled. I called their office and the woman on the phone said she would have them come back out. They never did. I followed up every week until finally in spring of 2023, someone came out to trim but didn't bring a ladder tall enough to reach the higher dead branches. I continued to follow up with them to try to get them to come back out and finish the job I paid for, but then I received a voicemail from them on June 26, 2023, saying that Joc would not be returning to finish the job. read more

Absolute worst business engagement I have ever experienced ... and I am in the contracting business. They didn't answer my calls, the scheduled me and blew me off, and they showed no interest in fulfilling their part in a signed contract. In fact, Eager Beaver began suggesting that the price would go up after I had waited 8 weeks for them to respond. Owner said that he would come out to assess the job and he blew me off even though I took the day off from work to meet him. Beware. This is a total shambles. This business has no interest in. Eager Beaver was hired to cut down a few limbs at my parents home and they were quoted $500. That was just to cut down the limbs. To have them removed would have been an additional $500. So in the process of cutting down the limbs, the company cut down a palm tree in the front yard without permission (and left it behind) and broke some of the boards on the privacy fence. They were called and asked to fix the fence and their response was "we did a $700 job for $500, so you will have to fix the fence yourselves." I would not recommend them and my parents will definitely not use them again! Expensive, horrible customer service, and no integrity! read more

I give Eager Beaver Professional Tree Care a low review because of the broken promises. After waiting over (2+) weeks on 3 separate occasions, I decided to cancel my request of almost 2 months to have them remove a stump. Each time I called, it was "We will be there in 2 weeks" or "the President has pulled everyone out of Gulf Breeze to work in Pensacola" or "the person who does stump grinding is unavailable." When I said I was canceling my work order, the agent said that she would call the president and get back with me. She did and was told by the company president that if I did not like the customer service to just cancel the order. read more

I received a quote for a $1,200 to cut down 5 trees on 9/7/19, which was a fair price in contrast to the other quotes I got but that will be the only good thing that came out of this situation. On 3 separate occasions I was told their team would come and do the job and on all 3 dates they did not show up. Excuses after excuses on why they could not make out to my property. And the worst part is that everybody'a excuse was different.... lady on the phone said they got called to an "emergency job", while a guy on the phone said it was too hot to cut the trees..... I had Eager Beaver's owner come to my home on September 24th this year to get a quote for cleaning up 4 palm trees in our yard. I explained that I wanted to have the dead fronds trimmed off and then get the trunks cleaned of old bracts and ferns growing in them. I was quoted 200.00 for the job and told it would be a month before they could come out. I asked once more to be sure that price included getting the trunks cleaned and the fronds trimmed. He assured me that all I had to do was tell his foreman what I wanted when they arrived. After waiting the month I called to check and see if we were still on the calendar for the job. I was told yes, and that I would be put on the schedule for the following week. Two weeks later I was finally put in the schedule. A six week wait in total. The workers got here, cut the fronds and then I saw they started cleaning up. I stepped outside to tell the foreman that the owner had told me to let him know that I wanted the trunks cleaned as well. He then called the office and was told "No, just trim them as the contract said." The contract did say "trim palms". After my conversation with the owner and then clarifying with him, I understood the job would be done as I had asked. I don't know if he was just in a hurry and wanted to get on the next customer or if he consciously lied to me. Either way, it is a terrible way to do business. I was then told that they would come back and do the trunk cleaning if I paid extra. Now, after speaking to the owner and being assured that the job would be done as the owner had told me, he apparently not only lied to me about how they would handle the job, but also tried to get me to pay more. I can't imagine this company ever gets any repeat business. If you decide to hire them don't ever take their word for anything, be sure you get every little detail in writing!! I have to mention, since this has shown up in other reviews, that I called the office to let them know how upset I was. I was polite, but let her know how disappointed I was with their lack of clarity and communication. I was told by the woman who worked in the office that she could not get a hold of the owner because she was on "an emergency" call and the owner was at a lunch meeting. There was a 18+ week delay between the estimate and actual work due to busy schedule then hurricane, but once on the schedule, the crew arrived on time, was professional, polite, performed the tree removal/trimming/clean up in a timely and impressive manner, and the stump grinding was done the next day and also cleaned up very nicely. Used this company to remove a large oak tree that had been damaged due to a lightning strike. They provided a written quote for what all they would do. Their crew did a great job taking down the tree. They were diligent in protecting nearby shrubs, etc. They disposed of the tree and left the yard clean. I would certainly use them again. read more

The owner came out to my home and provided a very fair estimate. I could tell this guy was a pro that has been in the business a while. These guys are not the cheapest in town but a tree service is one of those things I will pay more for if I feel comfortable. I sat on the estimate for about a month before I was ready to pull the trigger. It took a while to get the appointment set due to equipment but I didn't mind. They came in and safely removed a large tree in our yard. My wife said the guys were courteous and professional. They did a great safe job in cutting the tree down and cleaning everything up. They stump grinded everything and filled in the hole...everything they said they would do. I will use them again. read more

Came out to remove a couple small trees and was so blind he couldn't see the ditch. Drove his hummer across the lawn and into the ditch. Tore up the sod when he spun his wheels trying to get out. Tore up two neighborhood lawns with his dually trailer and straight up refused to pay for it. He said to get a lawyer; it didn't matter to him. He offered to come and patch it up, but really didn't want a blind man who runs his truck into a ditch tearing up any more of the neighborhood. Do not use this service unless you want them to tear up your yard and to leave debris everywhere. This was the least professional outfit that I've dealt with in my life, and to top it off, they don't care anything about your opinion. Just about whether they get paid. They're currently under a "cease and desist" order because they're violating zoning laws at their current location. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. My mother, a widow, used this "professional tree care" service to remove a palm tree in her yard and they damaged her main sewer line. What a sloppy job!! She had to pay a plumber $300 to fix the damage. When she called James to come and fix the damage to her main sewer line she was told their contract stated they were not responsible for damage. Well my mother never signed a contract, she was given the quote over the phone and next thing you know they had come to cut down her tree without confirming an appointment time. Repeated calls to this "business" have not been returned. I work for a company that takes pride in customer service so I have a real problem with businesses that don't understand the concept of this. My mother, a widow of a US veteran, does not deserve to be taken advantage of and absolutely deserves to have this situation corrected. Do not use this service. They are charlatans and don't care about their customers or the damage they have caused. We will definitely let everyone know in the area- we know a lot of people - to stay away. Well after a half dozen phone calls with no response at all it's time to trash this company. Eager Beaver Tree Care is a bad company. They have a "F" rating with the BBB. I can understand why. Not only did they wreck my yard, they promised over a month ago to fix it and never did. Small claim court here I come. I invite any Attorney interested in pursuing this to contact me. Do not use this service, totally unprofessional. Did no do what was asked, left a pile of debris in my yard, asked professionally to have service completed, was told the cost was on them, no cost to me but was a "gift" from them and they are not returning. Are you kidding me? Now I have to hire someone else to finish job and clean up all the mess, along with having a 6 foot high pile of cut limbs in my yard the last 5 days... They did return a week later to clean up the debris. This is after requesting work to be done 3 weeks prior, called as they were arriving and I was working and could not be present at time of service. Did a fabulous job of trimming up our 30 ft palm tree. I definitely recommend Eager Beaver. Reasonably priced as well.

First off, I wanted to say that James, their customer service rep was great to deal with, very knowledgeable. With that said, the worker bees left a lot to be desired. First, they wouldn't commit to a date to come out, it took over ten days from the time James gave the estimate to the time they actually came and did the work. Once they did the work, they overchardged my wife $25 and they didn't do part of the job. I called James four times to get the job completed and the overcharge refunded. Every time, he assured me that he would pass it on to the person that handles customer follow ups, but it never happened. At this point, I would say buyer beware, hopefully you have a better experience. You may have to be there and watch them do what they say they would do at the price they initially quote. read more

WHY ISN'T THERE A ZERO!!!!!! I received an estimate of $1000 for tree service and was scheduled for three weeks out- July 16th in the early morning. When they did not arrive, I called, Caroline in the office three times. She insisted they were"on the way and delayed because of a "add on". I was concerned that the work would not be finished that day and she assured me "they work to dark".Two flat beds and a cargo truck arrived at 4:10 in the afternoon and announced "they were parking the equipment and would be back tomorrow". When we told them that was not possible because a child's surprise birthday party at the pool area where they had to work was scheduled, the manager (as he called himself)" got very irate, disrespectful, and decided that "the work was worth more than they had bid" He said he would not start the work at that bid and that Bert, the estimator had underestimated it due to inexperience and short time on the job. He also said "Caroline didn't know what she was talking about and they never work late. I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE CUE THAT I DID NOT WANT TO WORK WITH A COMPANY WHOSE MANAGER TALKED DOWN ON HIS EMPLOYEES....BUT I DID NOT. After calling ,almost daily, and hearing every excuse why she could not schedule me...and blaming it on the owner ,Jock Howard being "out of reach" and the estimator Brian being "out of town" On Friday,July 25, Caroline said everybody was out of town and she would talk to them and call me Monday morning. Of course, she did not. I called her on Tuesday, July 29 and told her I had to talk to someone today or else. Bert called and said he had just talked to Jock and "Jock said to take the next bid because he was not going to honor the estimate and verbal contract. I could not believe any reputable company would not stand behind the bid and verbal contract. Bert said he would talk to Jock again...but he too never got back with me. IF i HAD READ THE MANY REVIEWS OF THE MANNER THIS COMPANY DOES BUSINESS, I WOULD HAVE NEVER GIVEN THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. I am a 20+ year professional in the Landscape Design business. I recently moved to the Pensacola area. My daughter and her husband used this company last year when I suggested they have some invasive 'Popcorn' trees removed. They did a decent job so, they called them back for some serious Live Oak tree pruning and a small dead tree removal. I decided to give them several referrals of my Landscape clients who needed some tree work.. However, a WARNING BELL, should have gone off... when I asked, the Service Rep, if the owner was a 'Certified Arborist' and he said he did not know! Eager Beaver workers showed up and cut a totally live tree down, left the dead one! When my daughter called with the Intel, she was told that the tree they cut down was dead! Not so, I will attest the tree was very much alive! I wish I had read the REVIEWS of PAST customers, that are hidden in these YELP reviews. Everyone makes mistakes, but not admitting that and being rude and defensive about it is NOT good customer service or business policy! read more

HORRIBLE customer service! I haven't even had a chance to use this company, the neighbor behind me is having a pine tree cut (one that is largely overhanging into my yard) this morning. I was not informed that large tree branches would be falling into my backyard. I have 4 children between 2 and 6 that could have been in the yard at that time. I also did not know whether or not they would come to my house to get the broken mess out of my backyard (one branch of which nearly knocked out my fence!) so I walked around to the neighbor's house to talk to them. The man talked to me like I was an idiot, when all I wanted was to ensure that my yard would get taken care of. Then on arriving back to my home, I see a man STANDING on my 10 year old fence! He hopped over my old, 7 foot fence. Nails have come loose or have fallen out completely. When I called to talk to someone about it, I heard nothing but excuses. The woman on the phone seemed to believe that it would have been the neighbor's fault had one of the branches fallen on my 2 year old! She refused to let me speak with anyone else and just continued to get irrate with me until finally I hung up dissatisfied with the company's reaction to the situation. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!
