Love the Stella!
A…read morefew months ago I saw they had a Groupon offer for 1 or 3 silk collagen facials. I had never been, and due to recent bad experiences with other spas, I decided I'd call before purchasing the Groupon offer, just to get a feel of how they work and to ensure the facials included extractions. It seems like common sense that a facial should include that, but a lot of spa owners try to charge extra for it, which is unfair, since if they don't open the pores well, the products they use during the facial wouldn't be properly absorbed. In my book, any spa that says extractions are extra should not be in business. So when Stella coincided with my opinion, that was a good sign that she was the real deal. I went ahead and purchased the 3 facials offer.
Making an appointment was very easy. I went in, a little weary that she may make me get the 3 facials I purchased in one month, because my Groupon expired in about a month. She recommended that I did the facials with regularity, but there was no gun to my head, which felt great. The guy working phones and the counter was also very courteous and pleasant. They're both very nice people. I waited only a few minutes and saw they have very nice exotic jewelry, handbags and accessories on display. I went into their facials cabin, noticing the relaxing instrumental (Spanish guitar) music and pleasant aromatherapy. Stella gave me a couple of minutes to change into a strapless robe.
The facial was great and just what I needed! She did extractions, used very good products, and did a hell of a job with my blackheads. She's very gifted with her hands, and knows how to massage your face and neck to tone them properly. She even briefly massaged my shoulders, hands and feet. I mean, complete service. I love that -- people who proudly do their job so well. And at the end, I walked away with skin that was deeply cleansed, polished, and most of all, very, very hydrated and glowing, with surprisingly barely any post-extraction marks that went away in 24 hours. My following 2 visits were just as pleasant.
I prefer the service you can get from a small spa compared to the ritzy hotel spas, because it's much more warm, personable, personalized, not pushy to get you to purchase products, easier to make appointments, and they take their fair time with you. A spa should never feel like you're speeding through the drive-through at McDonalds.
For me, Stella is a keeper. Do yourself a favor and Groupon or not, give it a shot.
