I went today for a massage! I had a Groupon to use, and making an appointment was easy. I was able to get in touch with the front desk and get my Groupon redeemed over the phone, so that all the payment I made at the spa was the tip for my therapist. I even got a confirmation call from them the day before, and the receptionist asked whether I had the correct address for the spa. I understood from the previous reviews that the address listed on their Groupon page is incorrect, so I looked up the address from their website and on my GPS. The location is easy to get to, right off of the Palmetto Expressway. I got to my appointment on time, signed in at the front desk and was brought in 20 minutes later. The receptionist showed me to the bathroom to use before my treatment. The bathroom is in the back of the spa, so I got a mini tour of the whole facility on my way there. The smaller front entrance makes the size of the place deceiving; there are lots of treatment rooms! It was interesting to walk past a girl on a vibrating platform; I saw flyers for detox and weight loss treatments. My massage therapist was lovely. She mainly spoke Spanish, but I had no trouble discerning what she was saying to me when needed. She was precise, detailed and didn't over oil my skin during the massage, going really deep tissue, which I didn't realize I needed in my life. I think she picked up on my knots since she paid extra attention to my shoulders. She even gave me a scalp massage which I consider to be a bonus. The room and massage oil had a gentle fragrance without being overpowering or nauseating. When she finished, she offered me water, wine or beer and got me a glass of white wine (my Groupon was for a massage and facial with a drink - score), allowing me to linger for a bit in the room in a post treatment breather. I was supposed to have a facial in the appointment and went to the front when I saw that no one was directing me to the facial. The receptionist said that I was supposed to have a facial as was listed in the Groupon package, but there was no appointment time included for me for some reason. I had no problem scheduling another day to return for the facial. I asked for a price list of services since I didn't have a chance to look at their website and did not know the full price of a massage to figure out how much to tip my massage therapist. I also didn't know the Groupon price since it was given to me as a gift. The receptionist tried to print out a listing from their card payment register, but since it didn't show pricing, she told me the package was $59. She also told me that they encourage people wanting to book the same Groupon services to buy directly from them since they will match the Groupon pricing. My friend scheduled a gal's valentines couple massage for us. As soon as we walked in and filled the form, Diego offer us wine,coffee, or tea. Of course, we went for the wine. From the moment I walk in ,I felt welcome, and immediately begin to relax. The Spa is immaculate and beautiful and peaceful, the menu of services is incredible. Extremely clean Our appointment was set for 11:45 am, we arrived around 11:00 am to enjoy the sana before our massages. The sana had multiple choices of lighting for different purposes. I had a really mid massage. She did the bare minimum and didn't pay attention to my feet or hands. Plus I payed for a 60 minute massage and only got serviced for 45 minutes. The location was also really cold so I was really uncomfortably chilly while getting massaged. I left feeling shortchanged and I didn't feel the typical relief that you get after a nice massage. I found Destiny Med Spa on the Groupon app. I bought the Groupon, but the person who I spoke to told me that Groupon appointments are limited, so I could purchase directly with them and they would honor the Groupon price, so I did. I got my massage that same day, which was great. I even purchased an additional service for $180. But the next day I went in I was scheduled with someone else. Due to the intimate nature of massages, I was not comfortable with that. Since I purchased 10 sessions up front, I asked to go ahead and book the remaining sessions in advance. The front desk staff was clearly annoyed and suggested that I just book five now and the. Book the next five at the next appointment because it's "too much work." I stood there and watched her book 6 of my 8 remaining appointments, which took less than 5 minutes. All that tells me is that they just did not want to do it. I did not want to risk being with a different person over and over again and they just did not seem to care. The massage techs are gentle and caring, but the customer service by the front desk clerks need work. Just based on their service, I would not recommend Destiny Med Spa to anyone. read more

From the moment I called to book the appointment the customer service was great. Quick and easy. They called the day before to confirm. On the day of I arrived and I was called in within less than 5 minutes. The massage was great. If I could give zero stars I would. Save your money and do not go here! I called them up and mentioned the Groupon for 5 massages at $220.00. I was told not to go through Groupon but to come in the spa for the same price. When I arrived at the spa and mentioned that I also wanted to purchase a faja, they began speaking in Spanish and I only speak English. After about 10 minutes, I guess they realized I didn't understand and the front desk person translated in English. I was taken into a room for a massage and once again was spoken to in Spanish. The "masseuse" said she didn't speak/understand English. After I told her I had lipo in my stomach she began rubbing my legs...Not sure why. She left me covered in heavy oil and it ended up getting on my clothes. The faja I purchased broke a week later. I called to complain and was told to come in and they would replace it. The man at the front knew nothing about this when I came in which clearly demonstrates a lack of communication among staff. He also informed me that this front desk person was "not authorized" to make those decisions. He refused to exchange it for me and then encouraged me to call the police which I ended up doing because at this point I did not want anything to do with Destiny Med Spa and their utter lack of unprofessionalism. THE BEST LASH EXTENSIONS EVER! I did them a couple of days before my daughter's wedding and to tell you I cried my eyes out multiple times, still crying looking at video and pictures but my lashes are intact. They forget your booking and then make you wait one hour in the facial room before saying they can't do your facial because they don't know how to book and they over book people. Also if you book a one hour massage that means it's really 30 minutes because they rush you out and they pretend like nothing ever happened and refuse to refund. Also the place is unsanitary. Started off with my amazing facial which made my skin feel glamorous. Next I got a body scrub and was completely wrapped in this foil type thing that made me feel like a baked potato. AND I LIKED IT. To be completely transparent, my husband and I have been here before. We enjoyed it so much, we decided to revisit for our date night. We showed up 20 minutes before our scheduled time frame as we were told and waited in the lobby for our turn. Since we had already filled out the paperwork prior, they had our records. 5 minutes before our session was to start, they left us in to the waiting room inside (with the tree). We had to ask for our complimentary drinks as they were not initially offered. We proceeded to wait an additional 37 minutes as they were running late. Both ladies that did our facials did not speak English. I don't mind that as I am bilingual but my husband is not. He was hoping to ask questions but since we were both separated, I could not translate so he was not able to. My esthetician did not speak to me even though I tried to start a conversation. The facial was mediocre at best. She cleaned my face, scrubbed and hydrated my skin (but no massage) however, I was glad my husband at least got that. A scalp and facial massage. His session started well over 30 min AFTER mine. They did offer me an extra drink and to sit in the sauna but after 15 min, I was done. Moving on the to massage, which was indeed great for me and my masseuse removed many of my knots, my husband however, did not feel the same. He described it as a "rub down" and felt rushed in the process. My feet and hands were omitted from the massage but since my back was my focus, I did not mind. After everything was said and done, were there there for THREE and 1/2 hours although we only expected to be there for two. My husband had planned on movies afterwards but because we got out of there after so long, we had to forgo the movies which we were both looking forward to. The receptionist was apologetic as we left the building but the damage had already been done. I suggest calling ahead of time to confirm they are running on schedule if you ever plan on going. read more

The covers don't seem to be the kind that are cleaned often. Overall very bad experience. I am very much into massage therapy, and I receive 50-60 massages a year. My husband and I just got a couples massage. We both came in with very tense backs, shoulders, traps and necks. My husbands massage therapist was wonderful! She really worked out his knots and used great pressure where needed. She seemed to know proper techniques and skills. My massage, on the other hand was probably the worst massage I have ever had. I feel like I just paid someone to LIGHTLY apply oil to my body. She did not even touch my neck and the pressure was non existent. I asked for harder pressure 3 times but nothing changed. The only time it felt hard was when she put her whole fore arm on my back but it just hurt my spine, it didn't hit or target any muscles/knots. Overall my husband is leaving very pleased with his experience and I am leaving very upset with mine. The facility was nice and very clean. The music was calming and the table was comfortable. Today I attended a 60 minute massage and 30 minute scrub session. To begin with, the spa was very clean and calming. The staff there are extremely nice from the beginning to the end. My appointment started at 10:00 am and I was in my spa suite 5 minutes later once I completed the necessary documents. The 30 minute scrub was a disappointment. The cold scrub was slapped on my back, arms, and legs. I was then, wrapped up in a foil blanquet and remained in their for about 15 minutes. When it was time to remove the scrub I thought it would be massaged into my skin like most spas. However, a warm damp towel was used to remove the scrub. I felt like a baby being wiped down. The good thing is, the actual massage was amazing. He really took his time and made every inch of my body feel delightful. It is because of the later part of my massage experience, I would recommend this spa just minus the scrub. read more

The receptionist / appointment maker was rude and had a very tough time after numerous phone exchanges finding 2 appointments at the same time. I found this place on Groupon. I chose it because I was looking for an appointment that day and it was the only place that had availability for the same day. When I called the receptionist seemed very nice and professional. I came in for my appointment and was never asked if I had a preference for male or female masseuse. I got a male (Diego) and was a little uncomfortable but I figured that he does this every day and trusted he would be professional. Well, I was wrong. When I got into the room and got under the sheets I realized that the sheets were every thin and see through but I didn't think anything of it. During the massage he made small talk with me and I engaged just to be nice even though I didn't really want to be spoken to. I just wanted to relax and enjoy my massage. At one point he got really close to my breasts but I figured it was an accident. While massaging my legs he sat on the table and put my leg in his chest. He also mentioned that he could tell I work out. To massage my arms he also sat on the table where I was laying and laid my arm over his leg which I thought was strange. The Groupon included a body scrub. He did my back and arms, and then when he got to my legs he decided to uncover me completely exposing my whole back side and thong. I wasn't sure if that's what normally happens because I've never had someone use a body scrub on me before. I left feeling very uncomfortable so the next business day I called the office to speak to a manager. The receptionist said that no one was in the office at the moment but she would have the manager call me. I asked the managers name and it was Diego (the masseuse I had). So I asked if I could speak to the owner. She said that the owner normally doesn't come into the spa but she would have "her" call me. She made it clear that the owner was a female. I get a call later that day, when I called the number back it was the number for the spa. I told the receptionist that I missed a call and she put me on hold. The person who then picked up the call was Diego (the masseuse). I told Diego that I had asked to speak with the owner. He then said that he was the owner. I responded by telling him that I thought he was the manager and he replied saying that he was the owner and the manager I felt so uncomfortable I hung up. The receptionist made it very clear that the owner was a female when I had spoken to her on the phone and she also said that the owner doesn't usually go into the spa. So the owner could not have been Diego who works there as a masseuse. The masseuse knew what he did was wrong so he was trying to cover it up. I feel very violated and now I know my feelings are justified by the way that he was trying to cover it up by pretending to be the owner. read more
