We thought may need to find some ACADEMICALLY for her! This class murdered small children's passion of dance! They are only two three years old, they don't know how to take the shit by let them know you are not good or you are not follow teachers! My daughter refused to go there and refused to put Tutu on, she is not twirl or plitte at home any more, she looked very sad and silent after class! The owner is horrible! Parking was nightmares! I emailed them twice to cancel my membership, you know what? They still charged from my credit card, not out of my imagination! School like this, be careful to send your little one there! You don't know what gonna happen with this school environment and this administration type!!

At 4:40 PM on the day the belly dance class was scheduled, I received a "reminder" text that it was cancelled. I checked the old-school, proprietary scheduling app on the school's website and saw that my reservation was not also cancelled. I called up the school twice and spoke two different employees who said that they would move my reservation to Aug 13. They both explained that the instructor was on vacation. I noted that if the school administrators knew she would not be available on July 30, the scheduling app should have prevented me from reserving a spot for that day. The owner, Serge, said he would accomplish this task immediately after getting home, which he said would be in 15 minutes. Never happened. So, I had to contact my credit card company to reverse the charge. The school's conduct over such a simple matter as rescheduling a reservation is just baffling. And downright dishonest. What a collection of creeps. Save your money and your breath: Avoid this dance school. There are plenty of other good choices in the Valley.

Our…read moreoldest has moved on to other interests, but our 7-year-old continues with ballet and loves it. I've watched Elite grow from a smaller studio into the powerhouse it is today. Elite is an excellent dance studio, from day one through their very polished recitals. It's important to note that this is not a cutesy/playtime type of studio. Dance is a discipline, and so dress code and presentation are taken seriously. For first-timers, that might feel a little intimidating, but there's a reason behind it. Hair and makeup need to be spot-on for recitals, because there's always a chance your cute 3 or 4-year-old might get on stage and just stand there! But guess what? They'll look fantastic doing it. And then, year after year, you'll see their confidence and ability grow. As a parent, you will need to stay on top of recital packets to know who/what/where/when, and I find Elite to be very thorough in the material they send out, or if you simply call them ahead of time. Another perk.. they have a professional photographer who takes photos on stage and backstage at shows/recitals for FREE. As well as a videographer, which is very much appreciated. The owner, Toni, taught my oldest years ago and is fantastic, both as a teacher and as a business owner. Neither of my girls have ever been on team, but both have always enjoyed their classes. The teachers are wonderful with age-appropriate instruction (shout out to Miss Princess with the littles) and technique. My 7-year-old only takes one ballet class currently, yet she could not be more excited to be performing in The Nutcracker for her second year in a row. Needless to say, we love Elite!

You do need to understand, this is a serious ballet academy, not some little dance studio for kids (like two others my daughter went to before this). At LABA, you will be required to follow rules, wear a ballet bun for each class, wear a uniform; you will be evaluated every year, and if you do well, you could audition to join their teams. Their teams compete at serious ballet competitions and perform regularly (ok, not during COVID, but we are getting past that hopefully). For us, this was exactly what we were looking for, but we also got much more than that. Our daughter developed amazing friendships at LABA, she feels welcome and at home. She is also learning that hard work and dedication bring results, and I think that's priceless. Thank you LABA! Oh, did I mention they occasionally offer master classes, such as the one with Ms. Petra Conti, a principal dancer from Los Angeles Ballet? I don't know if many ballet schools in town offer such opportunities. A picture with Ms. Conti included.

Click on "faculty and staff." You'll see nobody listed because practically all their staff have quit. It's a toxic environment where the directors and teachers treat dancers with disdain. They make comments on what the young girls are eating (that's a major red flag at a dance studio). It's a very sad decline. They used to put on a production of the Nutcracker at the Alex Theater in Glendale. It was glorious. That was before Covid. Now they put on a small family only production in a little theater in Northridge. They used to have many dancers winning competitions. Now they barely have anyone even qualified to enter competitions. It's a very sad state of affairs with many dancers going to much better, growing dance studios in the area. I'd be surprised if LABA is still operating later this year. So sad to see it fall from grace. I guess all good things come to an end.

I think we had a total of 6-7 classes, but after the second class, we had the entire routine down - it was all just about perfecting it. Lucia came up with the entire dance, after we expressed our song and vision to her. She even edited the music. She was so friendly, her schedule was so flexible, and she took advantage of each minute of every class. We really lucked out with her. She is so incredibly talented, and it shows. Our wedding was about a month ago and people don't stop talking about our first dance. The choreography was so amazing. It should also be noted that neither myself not my husband are dancers in any way! Thank you Lucia! Do not think twice about using her for your first dance choreography. Our friends are going to use her too!

The thing I love most about there is that they have is tic toes that will teach you the skills and the foundations do dance while still making it fun. I need a balance of technique and fun and they deliver! I have had the esteemed pleasure of working with and competing with many of the instructors, I've learned a multitude of dances, had incredible support and the most fun I've had pretty much anywhere. Dance itself can be almost addictive once you jump in and boy what better place to get those endorphins in while learning than at a place like this? I went from knowing virtually nothing and feeling very overwhelmed (in a good way) about any partner style dance, (I also didn't have a background in other forms of dance) and threw myself in entirely to then be at my first salsa competition a year later. I'm so glad I made that investment. I've warned lifelong friends and memories. They have knowledgeable teachers, kind staff, a wonderful space and always something fun going on. I have worked with the owner, Raul, the amazing Artem, the show stopping Yesenia, the bubbly Deana, the sassy Jackie and many others during my time there. The knowledge and experience I now possess makes me feel comfortable in most dance settings, socially or otherwise. If you're looking for a place to learn and have fun...this is it!
