We used E3 for over two years. My three children span elementary, middle, and high school. Although they had the aptitude to support elementary aged children, they have not demonstrated the same success as the children advanced. As they expanded to two locations the personal service and attention has dropped significantly. As a parent we are careful when changing tutors and therapists until we are certain it is in the child's best interest. So we stayed through E3's growing pains. A mistake which has demonstrated itself in scholastic achievement. The charge a premium for there services and their is no support for their staff. When a problem arises the burden is left to the tutor to solve. The staff turn over occurs at the end of summer and you start with a new tutor each year. For middle and high school your money and time would be better spent with subject matter specialists. Education is important, be sure to set and reinforce your expectations regularly or all you will receive is a hand written note with sentence fragments tracking progress. Best of luck read more

When my daughter started a private school two years ago, a year ago, her math became challenging. I found E3 Consulting and from the first phone call, they were welcoming and friendly and they made me feel very comfortable; everyone was so nice that it convinced me to try them. After talking with Becky about my daughter a little bit, she assured me she had the right person, she thought, would be the perfect fit for my 14 year old. She was absolutely right! First Alyse helped my daughter (she would drive to school and tutor her there which was fantastic), and now Tonya tutors my daughter at the Encinitas office. We love Tonya too... She's smart as a whip and my daughter really relates to her as a person and as a tutor. My daughters grades have improved 100% and she is no longer anxious about math. My daughter has completed 2 sessions with Stephanie at the Encinitas office in order to give her a jump start for Precalc in the fall. She says that Stephanie is a very helpful, knowledgeable teacher & that she has already learned a lot & is having fun. Even some laughs, which says a great deal coming from a teenager! We drive from the PQ area & it has been very worthwhile. During our intake, both Mae & Becky were very professional, friendly, & resourceful to our individual needs. A thank you doesn't feel like enough so I thought I would write a review to share how grateful we are, and have been, to e3. We started with e3 five years ago, when my 8th grade daughter, the oldest of 4, was diagnosed with Dyslexia and an executive functioning disorder. The academic help accompanied by the strategies and tools to manage her struggles culminated in a confident student who is now in college. Since I wasn't the one trying to help her with strategies and homework, the unknown benefit was that my relationship with her shifted to be so much more positive. A win for everyone!!! Once we found that my son (3rd oldest) had a similar diagnosis we realized that he needed support as well. We signed him up two years ago and are again grateful for the strategies and academic support he receives. We have just recently signed up my youngest son to get support as well. He LOVES going and wants to go more than twice weekly. Another win, but I told him no, because it is pricey, but worth it!!!! Lastly, in the last couple weeks, my other daughter (3rd oldest) who doesn't have any learning challenges was asking for help with her AP Calculus and we knew exactly where to go!!! e3 has been such a positive experience for my 18 year old son. He has worked with several of the tutors over the last few years. Most recently, Meghan has been working with him with Chemistry and Physics. My son looks forward to seeing her each week and her time spent with him is efficient and positive. She is able to keep him focused and interested in high level topics and assignments. My daughter completed two tutoring sessions. She needed math tutoring. During her second session, her tutor asked if she wanted to work on an upcoming paper and did she want to practice her Spanish. I was frustrated as she has A's in those classes and I was very specific in my request when I met with the Director. According to my daughter, the tutor needed to Google a math concept. My daughter has ADHD and went to e3 for four weeks this summer to help her get a high mark in a summer school class. One thing is for sure, my daughter wouldn't have made it through that class if it weren't for the help of the wonderful tutors at e3. She is currently receiving ACT review with them and they have been very helpful. Not only are the tutors knowledgeable and helpful, Rebecca, the owner, possesses an uncanny familiarity with all things education and all things North County education. She has been a valuable resource for us. I have had a couple of my children work with e3 during high school and really appreciate the attention and support that they provided to them. My kids needed very different types of support and Becky and her staff spent time meeting with us to find the very best personalized plan to address each of their needs. We have not had a bad experience with any of the staff that my kiddos have worked with, the only negative is that the teachers that we work with are in such high demand that it can be tricky scheduling. I have to say that my daughters sports and extra-curricular activities are not easy to accommodate but I felt like they went above and beyond to make sure her needs were met. As a parent I felt that they have always been responsive to our families questions and concerns. They have an amazing staff. Kristin in Del Mar is a scheduling wizard and extremely patient and easy to work with. Mae is also a sweetheart but I believe she might be in a different office now. Meghan (although I hate to give out her name for fear of her getting to busy) is our gifted, kind and extremely knowledgeable teacher that my daughter looks forward to seeing EVERY time. They have provided a very comfortable learning environment while helping her be successful. I sent my son to E3 for tutoring for a couple of years. It turned out to be the biggest waist of money. Most of their tutors do not follow through and they only care about making money and not how your child is doing in school. I will never recommend them and i only stayed with them because I could not find anywhere else to go. But now I have. read more

I can't say enough how happy I am to have walked in the door of E3! I have an 11 year old son who couldn't quite grasp math facts and was a struggling reader. After ONE lesson with Miss Lauren he came out saying "mom, she taught me how to learn!" Incredible! And he's only gone up from there! I have two children who are in their second years of tutoring with e3. One son works 1-to-1 with a couple of different tutors and one son goes in to Sunset Study when he needs a little help. I looked around for quite a long time before I found tutors skilled at working with ADD students. It has been a great experience for all of us. The stress of homework is no more, the grades are all going up, and better study habits are developing. The tutors have been to teacher's meetings with us (parents) and they communicate regularly with multiple teachers. I am even trying to get them to set up a homework club on my kids' school campus. read more

I simply can't recommend e3 highly enough! When my son was in kindergarten, his teacher recommended we take him to a neuropsychologist. After spending many hours with my son, the doctor confirmed that he is mildly to moderately dyslexic, and after discussing the educational therapy options, he highly recommeded Becky and e3. I interviewed several educational therapists, but the doctor was correct--Becky was the most impressive and seemed genuinely interested in my son's progress. Three years later, we are still thrilled with e3. My son has worked consistently with Julie over the past 2 plus years. My second grader is now reading at a third grade level, and reading sixth grade level sight words. Moreover, he enjoys reading now and his confidence level in reading, math and other subjects has soared. Julie has become an integrated part of his education; she attends parent-teacher conferences with me, and communicates regularly with his teacher, as well as with his occupational therapist. It continues to amaze me how willing she is to go above and beyond to make sure that my son is doing well and feeling good about school, to make sure that he has all of the available tools at his disposal, and to ensure that everyone is coordinated in their efforts. She clearly cares about him and his progress. Becky has also remained very invested in his progress, and meets with us to discuss further goals on a regular basis. In my numerous referrals of e3 to other parents and friends, I always say - I don't know how they do what they do, but they work magic. My son is always happy to go to e3 and really adores Julie. Even when he was going for several hours a day during the summer, he never once complained about going, and actually looked forward to it. He is much more confident knowing that he has Julie's help.
