We heard them clearly because there is no A/C in the building. Thankfully it was not an extremely humid weekend. The room was large and had abundant cabinets. The volunteers who were there when we arrived were kind and polite, gave us a tour of the entire house, but there was no host present, nor anyone else through the stay that we could address a concern. Yet there were random people on the grounds that we could not tell what their presence meant. So security is basically none existent, not that it would be necessary but there was nothing between us and the outside world but our room door lock.

What a cool place tucked away in the country. They had so many different horses and showed multiple uses for the horses and the machines they work with. I liked how they had the herb tour, blacksmith, broom maker and other people showing their craftsmanships at this too. I recommend checking out a class here or going when they have an event like this open to the public. It's a step back in time and you can learn and see how things were done in the old days.

You can talk to the director, but the teachers never find out unless you tell them everything too. The food for the children may not be in their control but it is ridiculous to think the kids will eat some of it. I wouldn't want it eat it. The main teacher in the older class doesn't care about the kids. Never seems to be paying much attention. Children ask for help and she ignores it. The younger teachers are great. They help in all classes and have more patience and caring hearts.

Hands down, the best firearm experience I have ever had. Larry and Marjorie are passionate about…read morewhat they do, and it is very clear when you meet them and go through a course. You can easily start as a newbie and over time become a skilled shooter with the classes at Lone Cedar. Larry has SUCH incredible knowledge with firearms, he knows when to challenge you and when to let you take it all in. I took the handgun fundamentals class, and all I can say is TAKE THE DANG CLASS. I've shot before here and there over the years, thought I knew what I was doing....and it's like this was the glue I needed to put everything together. Larry makes it such a relaxed and safe environment, so that theres ZERO intimidation...I felt comfortable to ask whatever questions I had. He is such a natural and great instructor. He could tell when the gears were turning in my head, when all pieces were coming together and didn't rush to the next topic. He gave me the time to process things, just naturally, which really increased my confidence. He could instantly tell where I would hit on a target without even going to a range with me, and he was 100% spot on. He made suggestions and corrections without making me feel stupid or dumb. I can't say enough great things about him! I wanted to be comfortable with a firearm without a male with me, and I completely am now. I can now easily go to the range myself, be safe, and use the tools Larry taught in the course to challenge myself confidently. This class was critical to my success as a shooter, to build my confidence at the range, to increase my safely handling any firearm, to confidently purchase a new firearm, and left me wanting to enroll in another course right then and there. If you're on the fence about taking the course before your CPL class, just do it. It helps bring everything together, and helps you build a SOLID foundation. I can't say enough good things about Lone Cedar Training Center, Larry, and Marjorie. Lone Cedar Training Center will absolutely be my #1 recommendation to all of my family and friends, and we'll heck anyone who will listen.... Do yourself a favor, just book the class or give them a call!
