I love E+ROSE for its smoothies and açai bowls ... but what many people don't know is that they also have delicious coffee drinks! I've been to this location a couple of times, and most recently I stopped in to pick up some coffee for a business meeting nearby. It's so convenient to order ahead in the app, and they'll even send you a text when it's ready to pick up. Parking over here is a bit tricky ... but that's thanks to all of the new businesses settling into the neighborhood. This E+ROSE location is one of the OG's - it's been in Wedgewood-Houston for more than 5 years! My coffee order rotates - but I especially love their shaken iced espresso drinks, which feature their housemade cashew milk. On this visit, I tried the Salted Maple Shaken Iced Espresso, which may be my new favorite. It's sweet but not too sweet, and has a nice mix of maple and coconutty flavors. read more

E + ROSE accomplishes what they've set out to be: an ultra-healthy, coastal, California-esque cafe. (Note: I have never been to California. But I feel confident in my assumption that this place encapsulates a Cali-vibe. And yeah, I wish I could think of a better way to express my thought than, "Cali-vibe," but I fear that's the best I can do.) The Pro Bowl was LARGE & IN CHARGE! Chock-full of granola / bananas / cacao nibs / peanut butter & honey ... I felt like I was hunting for treasure with each spoonful. As far as açaí bowls go, this one is worth the price tag - they don't skimp and it kept me full all day. I was curious to try my latte - made with their house cashew milk which is lightly sweetened with dates. Unfortunately, the latte was not great - there was an odd tang to it. It's a rare occasion that I don't finish a latte, but this was one of those times. As for the ambiance, I'd say E+ROSE isn't that kind of place I'd choose to camp out at for very long. It's more: "quick bite & be on your way" and less: "bring your tent, sleeping bag, butane camping stove, bear spray, & stay a while!" Long story short: get an açaí bowl, have your health influencer moment, and go get a coffee elsewhere! One last anecdote: While in line, a very blonde, stylish couple was introducing their baby, named SMOKE (!!) to another couple. I ordered one of their special bowls with a homemade matcha & cashew milk latte, and I swear to you I've been dreaming about it ever since! I'm always on the search for the best gluten free avocado toast & was excited to find E+Rose's GF avocado toast on Uber Eats. Unfortunately this was a bit of a miss for me. Subbing gluten free bread is $3, which is fine, but it is the smallest GF toast I have ever had. For $12.49, the avocado toast was a mere snack, & I was thankful I had boiled some eggs that morning that I could eat with the toast. The 16oz Supernova smoothie was very tasty, though it had melted a bit during the delivery & did not come with a straw. When this shop opened I was thrilled to have a location so close to me! The location is super cute sitting on the corner of Martin St. and Merritt Ave. From cold-pressed drinks to grab and go treats this cafe is the bomb. You won't be upset. The menu is awesome they have tons of foods and juices to go! I personally always go for the Katalina wrap that is vegan and you wouldn't even know! During quarantine, I have gone to stock up on drinks and wellness shots; such as the immunity shot(has a kick of cayenne), energy shot (very citrusy). For the drinks, my favorites are the Johnny Cashew (tasta like horchata), and the grove (great blend of pineapple, orange, and grapefuit). I personall haven't tried a smoothie but I bet it's amazing. For starters, it is open early. If you're a coffee shop and you don't open until after 7 you're not a real coffee shop in my opinion. While this place is not even know for it as only a coffee shop, they were still open early. It is a very fresh smell right when you walk in. Everything is natural and most of the things are local as well. They have more than just food. It is almost a mix of a coffee shop, restaurant, co-op, and deli all in one. Such a cool concept. They do not have the flash chilled coffee, which seems to be the "cool thing" to do in Nashville, and I am glad they have a cold brew. It was an amazing flavor. A bit of a punch at first, and I like that because of bold flavors, but it was so smooth, and you could taste distinctly 3 different flavors coming in succession, finishing with a rich chocolaty taste. One of my favorite cold brews I have had. I always taste my wife's latte, even though I'm not huge on them, and even it was good. All in all, this is a place I will be coming back to. I have become a super fan of their smoothie bowls, especially the "BC", a tasty blend of oat milk, dragon fruit (Pitaya), bananas, strawberries, cherries, almond butter, flax seeds, beet, & cinnamon, topped with granola, sliced bananas, chia seeds, pb, hemp seeds, honey, & cashews. Even though it's a "new" food to me, the familiar flavors of peanut butter, honey, and bananas take me back to homey childhood sandwich flavor profiles. Our order included a wrap (which was made in-house but packaged for grab/go), a smoothie + grain + fruit thing in a cup, and an order of banana bread bites. Flavors were layered nicely, textures complemented one another, and it was easy to tell that the ingredients were of a very high quality. I'd just had a surgery so I need calories and carbs in a light package that the smoothing thing delivered. My wife wanted a meal and the wrap was so stout that it nearly made two meals for her. We popped in for bfast- clearly a haven for vegans in the area. We ordered the avo toast and banana honey toast, as well as their iced coffee. Great fluffy bread and very healthful dishes. Honestly if you are in Nashville and not eating at this place or any other E+rose you are missing out. They have everything you need to stay healthy. No added sugars and the açaí bowls are to die for. They also have food and drinks you can grab that are ready to go, if you are in lunch or something. Only downfall is I wish I could get this a bit cheaper. I travel full time and have had bowls in other places around the USA that are just as good and maybe 3-5 cheaper. I add walnuts and extra honey to everything. Some of my bowls are over $20 because most will charge you for everything. Somethings you can exchange which is cool, but not all. read more

The toasts (banana and avocado) were solid, but a bit small and served in a box which made it hard to eat (we dined in so a plate would've been better).
