Few, and I mean very few, reviews I do are five stars because nobody is perfect, even Stef. That…read morebeing said, Stef is perfect for me and for my needs and that rates five stars in my book. Stef is such a sweetheart but a tough trainer, she'll figure out where you want to go with your fitness and get you there in a very responsible and fun way. One of the things that really touches me about Stef is how very vested she is in her clients. I've seen her near tears talking about successes she has been able to encourage in others and you can see that this is a genuine love of what she does. Stef wants to be the positive force in your life and she wants to watch you transform, I sense that the money earned from this is simply the extra benefit of being an agent of positive change. It's really easy in the fitness industry to not be a good representative of what you are teaching. We've all seen the overweight trainer, the inflexible yoga teacher and the nutritionist that you can swear smells like a Big Mac right then. Stef is not any of those things - she is not a poser. She lives what she teaches and loves every aspect of the fitness and nutrition that she helps you with. You have to respect that. I do. For me, personally, my transformation has been more than I had hoped for. I always hurt for two or three days after seeing Stef and am that much stronger when I see her again. Run, don't walk, to the nearest phone or computer and give this lady a call. But, if you book her so solid that I can't get my Stef time then we're going to have some words!

I have been training at JRT since they opened last year, and there is so much to love!…read more It is clear that the owner, Sean Johnson takes pride in his gym. The facility is clean and loaded with state of the art equipment. Aside from himself, the trainers he has brought in are all very knowledgeable. I personally train with Ralph Thomure but I have also had numerous conversations with Sean and Jenna. All three of them are very knowledgeable about athletic training, and I would highly recommend any of them. The reason I started training is because nearly 3 years ago I tore my ACL and until I started training with Ralph, I was scared to push my legs to get stronger. I started training in April of 2016 and it was the best decision I've ever made post-injury. This will be the third ski season since the injury/surgery and my knee/legs have never felt stronger! Aside from this, because of my crazy work schedule... having our training sessions scheduled helps me stick to at least those workouts (even if I skip the others in the week). I'm less likely to skip a training session as opposed to going to the gym on my own, which has made a huge difference in my life. In the past, if I got really busy at work I would fall into a slump of not going to the gym for a while but now that doesn't happen with training sessions scheduled. There are SO many reasons to start with a personal trainer; to get stronger after an injury or even just to get in shape... I definitely suggest giving it a try!

Also, I want to understand things on a functional level, not just a "do this" level and never know what's going on or why I must do it a particular way. Enter Sean: the wonderful trainer who quite literally knows and loves fitness in every aspect. He explains things so thoroughly and keeps me motivated as we work through the exercises. He also took the time to learn and establish a starting point with my multiple dysfunctions and help me reach what I am striving to work for- without compromising the integrity of my wimpy joints!! I cannot rave about him enough, he truly is an amazing trainer. With his help, I am learning more about how to use the proper form while I'm doing my own workouts between our sessions. I am paying more attention to my form and how important it is to not just "go through the motions", but to actively be aware of the movements, muscle contractions, and the positions you are in. This helps prevent further injury which tends to happen to weight lifters like me!! I have only done four sessions so far and I cannot wait to see my future results from training with him and how his knowledge will help me in the future! Thanks Sean for all you do!

I have been a client of The Exercise Coach for almost one year. This one of the best things I have…read moredone for myself in many years. The 20-minute (twice weekly) workouts have far exceeded my expectations. Kyle and his team of coaches are all very knowledgeable, patient, relatable, encouraging and fun. The exercise equipment, which focuses on strength training, (core, upper body, lower body), is amazing. One of the coaches is with me on each piece of equipment. On the computer programmed/electronic equipment, the coach inputs my i.d. number, selects the particular workout, makes sure that I am best positioned to have a safe/effective workout and the machine does the rest...well, except for the exercise part. Then, as I have gotten stronger, the computer programmed machines automatically adjust to my increasing abilities (by gradually increasing the weight based on my prior performance) and thereby continue to provide me with the optimal workout. For the equipment that is not computer programmed, my coach has the complete written record of my prior workouts on the particular piece of equipment (weight and number of reps) and he/she manually adjusts everything for me. I would also note that the coaches have done a superb job of tweaking my workouts as appropriate to account for my rotator cuff surgery that was done roughly a year prior to starting with The Exercise Coach. Their shoulder-specific adjustments have not only protected my shoulder, they enhanced its rehabilitation. In short, The Exercise Coach has improved the quality of my life. This is far more effective, and time/cost efficient for me than my experience with personal trainers at a fitness center and the exercise equipment we have in our basement. All good things!
