Please, don't waste your time if you're experiencing a foot problem by visiting any other doctor other than Dr. McLaughlin. He is the absolute best podiatrist in the Great State of Massachusetts. This office is a total SCAM! I made an appointment to get an ingrown toenail removed with Dr McLaughlin back in November. When I went to the appointment, it was Dr Paula Angelini. I asked her if she was taking over the practice? McLaughlin's name was still on the office sign and online. She didn't directly answer my question, just said that he was scaling back his hours. After reading some unsavory reviews about him, I can see why. I was in the office awhile but she removed the toenail and sent me on my way. Went for my two week follow up appointment where she told me the toenail looked good and was healing well. Great! She wanted me to go back for another follow up in two weeks. I ended up canceling that one because I didn't have any nail issues. The ingrown came back a few months later but due to covid I put off going back. I finally went back in July and she removed the nail again. When I asked her if there was anything I could do to prevent it from growing back ingrown she told me she'd "give me tips next time." Uhhh weird. Why couldn't she just have told me then? I had already been there over an hour and just wanted out so I didn't press her but the red flag was waving. 6 weeks later my ingrown is back. I found another Dr who asked if my previous dr had put medication on the nail after removal? I said, no she didn't. *face palm* He told me that the med is what kills the root and stops the nail from growing back ingrown. JACKPOT! So why wouldn't Dr Angelini do this? Because she wants to keep billing insurance for office visits, of course! Also explains the unnecessary amount of follow up appointments she wants you to schedule. Would not recommend ever going to this office . After being referred by Tufts health plan I was having problems with ingrown toenails. My first office visit was at first very standard although I had to wait almost an hour past my appointment time to be seen. During the appointment Mc Laughlin was nice and friendly ending in a buzz-are invitation for me and my friends to meet him at a local bar that offered deals on burgers on Thursday nights ? It was so creepy that I was like ? What about your wife ? And his response was that she was busy with there son . My skin was crawling. At end he told me the procedure on my big toes was not a big deal and I would recover in a few days. In reality the way he performed the procedure my toes where bleeding and very painful for 2 weeks, then infected and swollen for weeks after that. It was almost a year before my toes healed. I returned for one follow up appointment when I was told " I had not followed the instructions given " and for me that was enough. This office billed my insurance for two follow up visits and then sent me a bill for the co-pays that I had already paid . In looking into this doctor I found other women who had issues with him . I was born and raised in the city of Boston, not easily offended... this man is a creep, predator, pervert ?? Pick your adjective. read more

Let's start with the office that has no air conditioning is filthy the carpet looks like someone threw up on it the recessed lighting in the ceilings in all rooms are filled with bugs. I previously went here about 10 years ago and called to make sure to see if it was the same doctor and if they had redone the office they assured me they had no they definitely did not. There is no running water and sinks in some of the offices that he treats you. He is very hyper has people in every waiting room does not give you any time talks more about himself than your problem he misdiagnosed me he gave me cream for my feet and did not tell me how to use it the receptionists did not know how to use it it was two weeks of me trying to reach them as to how to use this medication. How bizarre is this? He told me to wear two inch high heels at all times for plantar fasciitis he offered me to have special shoes that he said insurance does not cover or steroid shots in my foot. I was referred to the Doctor by my PMD due to a painful big toe. Appointment was given almost immediately. The wait (in the air conditioned office) was only 1/2 hour. The staff were friendly and very capable. The Doctor examined my foot and almost right away knew what was wrong. He showed me the x-ray and explained I had a bone spur in the toe, pressing up through the toenail. The Doctor cut/trimmed the nail for me and while quite painful, the pain dissipated immediately when he was done. Great bedside manner, seems like a very competent, compassionate and skilled Physician. Very impressive all the way around. Would highly recommend this practice!! Doc is great guy and very knowledgeable about my condition. He was professional and funny and easy to talk to and gives you all time you need during your visit. He answers all my questions and I never felt rushed The down side is I had to wait about 30 mins to see him. All in it was worth it my foot condition is plantarfastia is complete healed. I got a shot followed his directions and got better shoes and orthotics generic ones which he recommended ( the cheaper ones not custom ) And I'm good to go. Doc is very personable and thorough, however I was confused as to why he didn't have me actually stand up so he could examine HOW I stood? Once you get past the chaotic and confused office staff (been there a few times, they sent my shoes to another office, never gave me the 'hand out' for my condition, even though I heard Doc ask them to, keep TELLING me I NEED to make an appointment for my fitting even though I paid for them outright-Doc said I didn't)... it's a pleasant visit with the doctor. If you can stand all the PINK RIBBON CRAP all over the office (really? MUST we be bombarded with a cause that only lines the pockets of 'Pink Ribbon, Inc.' and doesn't do much research?) IF you get your call answered in less than 10 minutes - you're doing good. I've sat on hold for 15 minutes before. Dr. McLaughlin himself is a good guy and seems to know what he's doing, but the wait is always at least an hour to be seen. Also, don't count on the office to be opened on time or for your phone calls to be answered. Also, he always seems to 1. Not really listen to what you have to say and 2. I experienced my first visit with Dr. McLaughlin today and was amazed at the mediocre reviews previously posted. I found the Dr. to be competent, personable and professional. He identified two problems that I had, and outlined several treatment options and then pointed out that most were either more invasive than necessary or were not as likely to be effective for someone of my age. The staff seemed to enjoy their work (and each other) and to be both friendly and supportive. n fact, I was particularly impressed with the professional support work that she offered.I can't imagine what areas of the visit should be graded as lacking. read more

This doctor has a very strange bedside manner. I have seen him twice for 2 seperate issues and have taken my daughter once. In each visit he managed to insult me or my daughter in some way or another. I went in for what my primary doctor thought was a plantar's wart, Dr. McLaughlin was very dismissive and said "Women get breast cancer, kids get plantar's warts, DO YOU UNDERSTAND". Not really. If I could rate these office "zero" stars I would. I am very unhappy with how my situation turned out. I went to see DR. in February knowing that I would most likely need foot surgery. Being a teacher, I wanted the surgery to be end of June/beginning of July so I would not have to take 6-8 weeks out of work. This is why I went in FEBRUARY. Dr. is an okay guy, understood my problem, and explained corrective surgery thoroughly. However, it is the office staff I have a problem with. Upon leaving, they said I would need to come back in May for another appointment and to book my surgery. The girl said they book "one month out", so May appointment=June surgery. When I went to my appointment in May, they were running an HOUR behind. I teach night classes and could not stay. When I told the girl I would need to leave, I asked her if I really needed to be seen again and couldn't I just book the appointment. She was very rude and said the woman who books appointments for surgery is out and isn't taking people until August! August! I was so frustrated I told her I wanted my medical records and I would go elsewhere. She said come back and pick them up. Fast forward 2 weeks, the day before my new appointment with my new doctor...they won't give me my medical records. I signed the release form. They "can't find them that quick, don't know where they are". Really? What a disgrace of a doctors office. GO somewhere else if you need a foot doctor!!!! read more

Dr. McLaughlin is a great guy. He's funny, easy to talk to, and doesn't rush his time spent with you. The inevitable downside to that, I suppose, is that a wait tends to build behind the current patient. My appointment was just shy of an hour late starting. I admittedly was not thrilled about that going in. However, I walked out having excused it, for the wait is worth the attention and well-paced service. The WORST. If I could give negative stars, I would. Besides Dr. (if he can even be called that) McLaughlin's horrendously innapropriate bedside manner (he made sexualized remarks towards me and my friend who he assumed to be my boyfriend , stared at my breasts for the majority of my visit, and disparaged my me for my academic major), he is the reason for which I now have to get surgery a year after the initial injury. Dr. Mclaughlin was too incompetent to take any of his own x-rays of my foot and after disregarding my pain as minimal, misdiagnosed my shattered foot as a sprained ankle and then encouraged me to stop using crutches after two weeks. He suggested that I was over-reacting and insisted that I push through the pain to habituate myself to walking again without support after removing an "air cast" his staff put me in for two weeks. How this creature has his own office, I can only imagine. On top of his misdiagnoses, he made very strange comments about his other clients, and tried to compare my case with someone else who had a completely unrelated injury. I wish I had known better at the time than to take this mysoginistic man's advice on anything, let alone a serious injury (which would have healed had it been treated properly). read more

I wish i could leave no stars. So my experience started out ok wait time was long but doc. Seemed nice. Surgery seemed to go well then the friday after my surgery dr mclaughlin was nowhere to be found his nurse said ahe could leave a note on his desk but he wouldnt get it till monday. I was in sever pain because he wrapped my foot too tight and there was a pinched nerve or something in my heel. I had 3 other doctors tell me it was unacceptable to not have an answering service or to be on call. Actually its illegal. Anyway i gor the care i needed from the er because i didnt know what elsw to do and my fiancedragged me there.i didnt wanna go cause the copays alot and i dont have alot of money it wasnt supposed to be so painful it was a minor surgery. Dr mclaughlin had his nurse call me to apologize with him in the background i could hear him talking like i was a pain in the ass. then he finally called me later monday amd apologized and lied. I was under his care til I lost my leg. I believe his care contributed to my loss. I was diabetic but doing everything right. No sugar, keeping my weight down, I never smoked. I always got the impression that he had a god complex. He would ride me about being diabetic even though I took it seriously. He came into my room after my amputation ( he worked in the same hospital) and in front of my wife and parents said " I hoped you learned your lesson. " Those words haunt me today. This review isn't about the doctor himself, but about the billing done for my daughter's visit for planters wart. According to her father that brought her to the appointment, Dr. McLaughlin explained to her what it was & how it was caused by a virus. Told them to use Compound W after he scraped her foot alittle bit just to irritate the wart. If you will notice, there was no removal of lesion but yet I was billed $302.35 for lesion removal on top of the office visit of $200. When I called the office (Attleboro office), to say there was an error on the statement, before I was put on hold abruptly, Brianna told me that I would have to discuss it will my insurance company or their billing company. When she came back on the phone, I explained to her that the charge for removal of lesion wasn't correct since it never happened. Her response was "just disregard it then if it didn't happen". I thought that was a very professional solution...sense the sarcasm. So when they put me into collections for non-payment, I'll just tell them Brianna gave me permission to disregard it! read more

I WAS a patient here when I was in my early 20's. If I knew then, what I know now, I would have done something about this doctor instead of let him behave the way he did. First, his office is poorly ran by his staff. It's on a rear occasion they answer the phone or call you back. Also, the office is typically over booked and wait times are long, but I could get over that. What I couldn't get over where the sexual comments and conversations from the doctor himself. He loved to talk about stars boobs (he really liked Brittany Spears) and often made me feel uncomfortable. He would also ask me if I would like to take rides on his motorcycle with him. He would still ask even after being told no. I saw him for a year, but my last straw with him was when he tried to debride a diabetic wound without numbing it first. I told him I have neuropathy, but the kind that makes your feet extremely sensitive. He told me "diabetics don't have feeling in their feet, now hold still". He came at me with a razor blade and tortured me until I was balling my eyes out with pain. I left and called my primary doctor who dealt with Mr. MC Laughlin himself. I will never EVER go to any office that is affiliated with that man. read more
