My friend and I searched through types of sofa and types of fabrics trying to find something that I liked and that was comfortable. We realized we didn't know the terminology used for different styles of arms and other components of sofas and the staff at Pugh assisted us with that, which helped when we explored other furniture retailers before returning to Pugh. As far as quality, Pugh had selections that are as good or better than any other place in the valley, had a variety of fabric selections that rivaled any other store and - most importantly - had very competitive pricing. The staff was all very helpful and did everything they could to assist me through the whole process of buying a new piece, setting up delivery and removing the old piece being replaced. My experience with Pugh Furniture was excellent and I'd recommend Pugh Furniture to anyone needed new furniture. How we hated this furniture and now we have transferred that feeling to Pugh Furniture! This is a company I grew up with as having a reputation for quality. Well, no longer! Avoid this place! Instead of replacing the damaged items or taking responsibility for delivering furniture in unacceptable condition, customer service tried to send us through the warranty process just to have them cleaned. Why should a customer who paid for brand-new furniture have to go through a warranty claim to fix a problem that existed upon delivery? To make matters worse, getting help was incredibly frustrating. Reaching anyone is nearly impossible. Expect long hold times, endless transfers, and voicemails that seem to go nowhere. Customer service was difficult to reach and offered little resolution once we finally got someone on the phone. For a major furniture purchase, I expected much better quality control and customer service. Unfortunately, this experience has been disappointing from start to finish. I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere if you value responsive customer service and receiving furniture in the condition you paid for.

After a month wait our couch was finally set to be delivered! Awesome right? Well here's where things take a turn. At no point up until delivery were we told that HALF of our 3K couch was on backorder. When were we informed? As the delivery driver sat in our driveway. Then we were just asked if we still wanted the thing we paid for in full in cash. I called back and a manger couldn't talk to me because he was on a call. The nice salesperson? Told me that it would take three weeks to get my money back. After they picked up what was delivered for return and that would be a at least a week out. So my money would end up being tied up for at least another month or so. Hey they offered me a 100 dollar gift card though. We will wait until whatever paid for is delivered as we have no other choice that doesn't inconvenience us further. We will not be talking their gift card as we don't want anything from them. My advice is to take your buisness elsewhere. Find a place that will appreciate your buisness and your time. Ashley Furniture in Charleston WV is NOT that place. Happy thanksgiving!
