When it comes to cookware E. Dehillerin is still the very best. Unpretentious and expert. Professional level knives and cookware. Heavy copper pots. Exceptional selection of knives for dining or for everyday use. Extensive supply of baking tools. Save the hassle. Let them ship your order.

Fantastic selection of high-quality cookware, molds, presses, tools. This store is for professionals. It's not an American department store for lounging in, my minimal French was useful as not everyone will speak English. Please don't be the ugly American stereotype. It ruins it for the rest of us.

This place is supposed to be the Paris kitchen store where Julia Childs like to go. I can believe it, its very old and looks a like like Uncle Bob's hardware store in Nebraska, old creaky wooden floors, narrow walking space between shelves piled high with everything you need to be an authentic French Chief. No kidding this place is like 200 years old. Terrific place to buy knives and hard to find baking stuff. No price tags, you have a stock # on everything and then need to look it up on a pice sheet on the end of the aisle. Still if you're a foodie this is a great lace to spend some time if you're in the neighborhood.

I've been wanting to shop inside this place ever since I'd seen a picture of it in my French book when I was learning French. It was even more beautiful that I'd imagined it would be. I love French cookware it may be pricey but I see it as an investment. I was too busy buying things to take pics of it, but it was every woman who loves to cook dream to be able to walk in here and shop!

Julia Child was a regular here; and this is where she'd buy kitchenware while she was attending cooking school at Le Cordon Bleu.

If you're a foodie, chef, baker, a fan of Julia Child who is responsible for formally introducing French Cuisine to the U.S., etc. then you will fall in love with E.Dehillerin. My husband is a cook by trade and although the shop was a little out of the way from where we were staying, we made a special trip here because I thought my husband would really enjoy it and that he did. The copper cookware, cutlery, utensils, kitchen gadgets, anything and everything in the store was really fun to look through. He wanted to buy everything (thank God for luggage weight limits!) and I had to remind him to exercise self control as he picked up a few souvenirs for his other cooking buddies back home. He could've probably spent hours in here nerding out over all the pots and pans and specialty items that covered the store from floor to ceiling. It's definitely a culinary paradise and we had fun browsing through all their items. If you're remotely into cooking or food, I definitely recommend making a stop here while in Paris.

Like other reviewers have stated, you have to have some restraint -- this place can be dangerous.

A Pilgrimage to All Things for the Cook E. Dehillerin has been around since 1820, and like so many shops in Paris, they do one thing and do it exceptionally well. A favorite of innumerable cooks, from Julia Child to Anthony Bourdain, Dehillerin is the place for copper cookware, along with sooooo much more. Remember Bourdain's Press de Canard? They had a few models should you wish to get medieval. Service staff are bilingual and oh so helpful. I was looking for a saucier, but only saw the tin-lined type as I wandered through the basement vault of cookware -- problematic in the US. The gentleman working the floor knew what I wanted and showed me the two sizes lined in stainless steel. I also picked up a real French mandolin. I had broken two of the not so cheap ones from William Sonoma due to plastic parts. This one is all stainless steel, with all the built in blades to do every cut imaginable. Tip: Remember to ask for your VAT certificate to get your tax back for your purchases. They will happily fill out the forms for you. They will just need your passport or driver's license. Useful souvenirs that will last a lifetime.

Tight store.... look for the catalogs on the wall for prices. Staff was super helpful and efficient. I bought two E.Dehillerin chef's knives, 10" and 4" for under $100. They are gorgeous, and when brought to one of the finer sharpeners back home, they commented on what great knives they are. A few meals in, and they are all quality and can stand up to a lot of abuse. Great store, and a must visit if you like to cook.

What a great store for everything in your kitchen. I need to get back and buy a few more trinkets for my kitchen.

This is where all of my Dehillerin brand carbon steel paring knives and steak knives came from. They can hold a sharp edge unlike any other knife ive ever seen, and I like how the carbon steel blackens with use. This store is the top for serious cooking supplies.

This pot doesn't show its scale, it is 3ft tall!

Wonderful selection of cookware and bakeware in Paris…read more It's not a far walk from the metro station through some quaint Paris neighborhoods. The store is not huge but has a lot of selection crammed into a modest space. They have products from all over the world and all sorts of items for cooking and baking including pans of all kinds, small appliances, fondant, silicone molds, colorings, and so much more. The staff were friendly, spoke English, and seemed happy to help. It was super hot in the store, though. Check their hours as they close for an hour mid-day on Saturday. We found a few silicone mats (Silpats) for baking macarons, but be warned that the sizes are not exactly the same as those sold in the U.S., so they might not perfectly fit your baking sheets. They had the versions for bread as well (Silpans). Prices seemed quite good compared to prices paid in the U.S. probably since these particular items are made in France. This was definitely a fun place to grab a few baking items!

There were so many molds and tools and everything! I only ended up getting some great pastry bags, a rose mold and a few other small things. If I had more time I would have purchased a knife or two, there are some nice ones. The store is in a perfect location. It's within walking distance from a mall and Notre-dame isn't too far. If or when I'm ever back in Paris I plan on buying a lot more. If you're in to baking or cooking don't skip this place!

I don't really have room for any more pots and pans, but it's always fun to browse. Lights, tables, throws, curtains, and coordinated linens to enhance your decor. They even have practical things like cleaning supplies and tools. The most practical part of this store was their attached cafe, with Swedish snacks and sweets to sustain you as you shop:) Prices are reasonable, neither the lowest and nor the highest for brand names and types of products; you may find lower prices in the big department stores during sales, but this place will have less crowds and better service.

I spent 90 Euros and then went to eat in the little cafe attached. When my friend and I were finished eating we walked through the shop again. I took a couple of photos of some nice displays. As we were leaving the store, a sales person approached us with a suspicious look and started asking questions as to what we were doing there. I am not sure if she thought I had been stealing or she saw me take the two photos (of displays) and was angry. Nevertheless. I explained to her that I myself was a shop owner, was excited to see many of the same designers and admired the merchandising. I told her I actually personally knew some of the designers (which is true) and I thought that might be of interest to her. She was still suspicious. I told her I had just spent the 90 Euros at her shop. She never smiled or apologized. Furthermore, the woman that rang up my sale was unfriendly. When I asked if she could wrap the delicate ceramics, she made no real effort and seemed annoyed. It is really a shame because it is a beautiful store and very well curated. They need some customer service lessons! I am afraid I will not return.
