I just had an experience where I talked to three separate people; total time for me was about one hour over a period of two days. All I wanted to do was reset my PIN number. First person gave me an automated service to call; they declined; So I called back; 2nd person said that the number given to me by the 1st person was incorrect; she gave me another number. This 2nd automated service number also did not help me. So I called back a third time the next day. Then this person said they would forward me directly to a person in IVR. But I only got an automated service that did not recognize my card number again. I am not sure what to do at this point, I may have to drive in. read more

They also offer a car biting program (new or used cars) and the car expert named Gregg does all the footwork for you. I took advantage of his expertise and purchased a used car. My 2-year anniversary is coming up next month and l was extremely pleased with my purchase snf dealing with Greg (the car expert). It is rare that I get a polite professional representative. Not only do I get a rude representative, the app and website is pretty outdated. I can't even retrieve my lost password because I'm waiting all day for the system to send me a verification code via phone, which I never get. I have to call one of the rude representatives that act like they don't like their job to help with retrieving my password. I just recently got off the phone with a representative to help guide me with looking for the statement section and his tone of voice was horrible so I just told him I'll figure it out myself.....rather than say, he'll help, he just told me OK. I do business with this Credit Union because of my job. read more

At this point they should put me on payroll. I've never had an easy month with them. I call in monthly to solve my own issue with my car loan account i have with them because the front end staff who answer calls are unaware of how to skim through notes and resolve a reoccurring monthly issues themselves. Around month 8 with being a member, I was directed to the VP of Operations who took over a week to return my call. When he called he apologized he was unable to return the call in the time frame they provided. I let him know that this behavior was expected because ive never experinced urgency resolving company errors. Setting up the account with them, a routing number that was provided would direct my monthly car payment to a checking's account (i did not sign up for, Irma the recruiter is big on secretly singing you up for her commission purposes) and in retrospect, have me fall delinquent in my car payment and i would be made aware of this issue when I'd receive a letter in the mail stating i was 17 days past due. I make car payments monthly that exceeded the grand total amount and it would leave my account positive each time accumulating extra cash at the same time to make higher car payments then asked for. Resulting in me having to call in and have them transfer my money to the correct account and reimburse late fees that have been taken out of the extra cash that was deposited to my account. I have never been late on a payment, I work hard daily to provide for my needs. Receiving late notices and having to call in and deal with the customer service reps who were rude and unable to read notes about the same issue that's been happening for months would trigger anxiety when calling in. Taking 30 -40 minutes each phone call explaining to the rep exactly what i explained to the last rep the month prior and resolving my own issue, I genuinely feel like their colleague when calling in to them. I'm paying them $6.00 a day to have a car loan with them. Making payments in advance and paying for a $3.00 monthly service fee while having monthly issues. The office is not convenient to get too, ATMS locations are not convenient, mobile app is not convenient to use, it allows you to update your address, but when you call in they let you know its unable to update through that system and you have to send a written notice... WHY PUSH FOR THE CUSUMER TO USE THE MOBILE APP WHEN THE SYSEM IS NOT ACCURATE? all in all, this company is not a safe company for anyone who is living the California Struggle. It will send you into a anxiety, ptsd spiral with their late notices, late fees, incompetent staff and faulty mobile apps. This is a company for a person of means, who has time to deal with issues and a wave of B.S. read more

I started with Sears Pacific CU over 40 years ago with a two person team who called you by name when you walked in the door; through two name changes or evolving institutional changes to the now E-Central CU. Although I miss the annual members meeting (dinner and fun) and name recognition when I enter the Pasedena office (personnel changes) E-Central has been consistent with the variety of services provided and a commitment to a good customer experience. I had a checking and savings account with E-Central, and I joined since my nonprofit job offered it and I was trying to get out of commercial banks. I think things were fine and there were plenty of Co-op ATMs I could use, but now they are fewer and it is inconvenient for me to make a deposit. I kept the accounts open since one day that could change again as we are in the post-pandemic world. I closed my account recently since it didn't make sense to keep it open and let money sit. So to close my account, I called and they said to write them a letter with my account information and address and include my ID. I did that and somehow they managed to send my check with my remaining balance to my old address. I was told on the phone that they sent it to my old address since it matches what I have on my ID card. I made the address change on the website when I moved last year and have been getting mail ever since. Now they want me to write them another letter with my address change so they can reissue a check. I wasted a stamp for the first letter and will have to use another stamp for the second on something that was their fault? It's not my fault that they used an incorrect address when I made a change and had since been getting mail and their junk mail. I have mail forwarding since i moved, so a letter at my old address would have to be because they insisted it be sent there. So I don't know it's just upsetting. I wasn't happy as a member and even worse when I left. I have online banks and unfortunately joined a commercial bank again since I can't hunt down banks in their network. read more

What I love about E central is the personal attention they give to me and everyone I have witnessed having interactions. My account at B of A was hacked ( several years ago) . Wells Fargo has caused problems for my daughter and her account. I was at another bank ( First Entertainment ). They lost checks in auto deposit and other unmentionable mishaps. I had a terrible experience with schools first and even big banks like BoA, they wasted my time and were of no help. I'm trying to sell my car to carmax and the representative tried to contact E-Central to go through the process. Apparently, the only person who can make the process is on ONE HOUR break and mind you, the representative called at 2:45pm. Is this a joke? Who takes an hour lunch break at almost 3pm on a 9am-5pm bank office hours? Seems so shady and it looks like they don't want to take care of the process. I have been a customer with E-Central for over 30 years and have been well pleased with the service that I have received during this time. They take care of my direct payroll deposits and all the car loans I have financed through the years. In 2021 I decided to sell my home and move to another state. I contacted E-Central to get information regarding their mortgages. I was teamed with Tracey Beal. I advised her of my plans and the direction that I wanted to go. She advised me how E-Central could assist me with the sale of my home. She helped me through the escrow process and safely deposited the funds in my account. Once I arrived at my new location She furnished me with a pre-approval letter and I kept her apprised of offers that I submitted. Once an offer was received she was right there working with the escrow company until the loan closed. I could not have completed this stressful ordeal without her. I really depended upon her more than my realtor. I never doubted her or worried about not receiving information in a timely manner. She would call just to see how things were going. To say that Tracey Beal is outstanding in what she does is not strong enough. She has advised me, given me options, laughed when I laughed and I believe she is as happy as I am with my new home. Recently, my lender of choice for a home loan was E-Central Credit Union. Charles Bautista was very nice through the whole transaction and we even connected on a personal level. He truly is wonderful and worked hard through the loan process. However, there were certain things that were not explained thoroughly to me or my husband that cost us $$. We did get a rebate but it did not come from E-Central and truly they have not done anything to better this situation. Thank God that we did have 3rd party lender credits that covered some of the fees that I incurred. No one explained the additional fees that we would incur until last minute. Don't get me wrong - I am happy that my loan closed but again, it was a bumpy road. Charles did try to make it better but up to now nothing has been done. If you go through E-Central Credit Union, please ask a lot of questions!!!! Before signing anything. Sandra Mejia is also a nice person but I was very disappointed that my husband is not joint on my savings account over something someone overheard. This was very unprofessional - again something that was not explained to me. This was horrible. Tracy Truong - This lady is amazing. She had me on my tipie toes!!!
