Four years later the flooring started to come up in many places. I called Color Interiors, spoke with Dave Clark. I explained the situation and he had an inspector here within a couple days. The inspector was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. A few days after the inspection, we received a call from Color Interiors, stating the floor was going to be replaced, however the flooring installed was no longer available. They had us come to the store and choose new flooring, we did. A date and time was set for their installer to do the project. They arrived at the time and date set. One day removing the old flooring installed and getting it leveled and prepared for the new flooring. Two days four hours later, we have absolutely gorgeous floors! Wow! The installers were and are perfectionist!

Unfortunately, my experience turned out to be frustrating and costly. From the start, we ran into issues -- the wrong shower pan was ordered, forcing a last-minute pivot to a tiled shower floor that I didn't want and which increased the total cost. Then, the shower door I had selected didn't fit, causing additional delays. The most serious issue, however, is the poor workmanship. The shower was not grouted properly. The step began separating while Sergio was still working on it, and it's now held together with caulk and a prayer. Grout on the shower floor continues to crack in multiple places. I've had to attempt repairs myself -- and I'm no expert -- but new cracks and gaps keep appearing after each use. Even further, the shower door groans loudly despite attempts to lubricate it. I reached out to Sergio to address these problems, but he didn't respond. Honestly, the communication had become so terse and uncomfortable that I didn't feel good about continuing the conversation. I've now had to take on a third job to pay for having this shower redone by someone more experienced.

The carpet is a commodity but John gave very honest pricing. What really matters are the installers. If you carefully review the other stores you see their contracted installers are who disappoint. Not at Lone Star. John's installers have been with him for 15 years so they are really good. The installers are who really matter on your finished product. I also needed float and his crew was great. They got the entire upstairs done in a day. They move all your furniture and move it back at no extra cost. Which is really great!
