Amazing doners in the heart of the city near the Grand Bazaar. We had to come back twice to get a shot at these, so don't wait until the last minute because they will sell out. It's a small shop with nothing but doners and drinks but it's worth the hype. Be prepared to stand in line but it moves quickly. They take cash and cards and there is a small standing room to eat if you don't want to walk. Pro tip: ask for the peppers they have on the side if you like things a little spicy! A must do in Istanbul!

Hype doner spot!

The line was out the door and filled with locals! I was definitely intrigued so I decided to pop in line and try one. We waited for about 20-25 minutes before finally getting to the front of the line. My mom ordered the one that everyone else ordered, the first thing on their menu. They make it for you on the spot, and there is a little area next door that allows you to eat standing up. If you're lucky, I did see one stool. We were excited to see what all the hype was about and when I bit into it, I was quite disappointed by the lack of flavor. It was a very bland kebab! The bread/pita was nice and fluffy though. But other than that, it was not worth the wait. I would say pass this spot up if you were gonna go out of your way to try it.

Absolutely delicious. It's insane how much flavour was packed into a wrap that only had meat, tomato, and onions in it. The meat was incredibly juicy and perfectly salted. Highly recommend!

Recommended and taken here by a local for doner kebab while in the area before visiting the Grand Bazaar. expect a line when you arrive, but it does move quickly. Do you order at the window and then wait for your order to be called. There is another building connected to it that serves as the dining space with standing tables. You can also just eat it right outside the restaurant in the street. The doner kebabs are very large and come absolutely packed with meat. The flavor is meaty, fatty, savory and is balanced out with some fresh veggies within the wrap. Honestly serves as a very filling and delicious meal that's perfect if you're heading toward or finishing up at the Grand Bazaar.

We were shopping at the grand bazaar. Around the perimeter there are many spots to eat, you can follow your nose. This was the only one with a line, so of course I queued up. It was fantastic. It had no sauce. The lamb meat is so juicy and flavorful - it didn't need it. It's literally just bread, meat, tomato, onion, parsley. It was perfect.

You can't miss this doner spot as there's consistently a line, but I didn't wait any longer than 15 - 20 minutes at around 12:30 PM. Ordering is done through a window where you can order a pide (the doner sandwich!) and almost everyone will also pick up a cup of Ayran, a signature Turkish yogurt drink. It's like a lassi, but more sour, and pairs beautifully with any form of sodium. The shop has some standing tables available next door, but no seating. Pide (4.25/5): It was good. The doner was juicy and savory, plus the pita is lightly doused in the juices before they hand it to you. However, it wasn't mind blowingly good. It's also a little pricier than other locations and not super generous with the meat. Still a solid bite by all means, but certainly not the best Istanbul has to offer.

When I arrived there was only one other customer inside. The restaurant decor was cute and I very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This spot was a bit pricey just like most of the restaurants in this touristy area. I had certain Turkish entrees i wanted to try during my vacation. I ordered the Iskender kebab which is beef and pita bread covered with tomato sauce with yogurt on the side. I ordered a side salad to go with it. The dish was very delicious as you can tell in one of my pics. I chatted with some of the staff about life in Istanbul. I was offered some complimentary pomegranate tea before I left and it hit the spot. This is definitely a place to check out when you're in the area.

The staff here are rock stars, smiling, engaging with patrons and welcoming everyone to stick your head into the kitchen and view the succulent wheel of lamb meat. Your sense heighten as you sit and get ready to eat one of the best lamb dishes I've ever had. This feeling was shared with several members of our tour. Language could of been an issue here, but the smiling and friendly staff watched intensely as we inhaled their delicious entree. Their condiments were onions, red pepper paste, pomegranate molasses, tomatoes and plenty of homemade bread. They allow the star, "savory lamb meat" to be featured and not be buried by the accutramonts. It is a truely stunning dish and voted #9 in the world for best kabob.
