I needed last-minute catering for a funeral last week, and this business truly went above and beyond in every possible way. During a stressful and emotional time, they made the entire process easy, smooth, and affordable, and I am so grateful for how kind and accommodating they were. I really wish I took pictures of the food after we displayed it out for the guests, but it was a funeral and my brain truly was in another place. We ordered the rice, a side salad. Both were in very large aluminum dishes, and two servings of felafel sides and then a mixture of beef, chicken and lamb wraps all cut in half. The owner personally spent time with me on the phone multiple times going over the menu, helping me figure out how to get the best variety of dishes within our budget, and making thoughtful suggestions that ended up being perfect. You could tell he genuinely cared about helping us, not just making a sale. The food was absolutely delicious -- so many people complimented the wraps and the rice in particular, and several guests asked where the food came from. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and homemade, not like typical fast catering or fast food. At the last minute I realized I didn't have cutlery, and without hesitation he took care of it for me and included it in the cost, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. I actually first tried their food when I gave birth at Memorial Hermann across the street in February, and I'm so glad I remembered them and came back to use them for catering. The quality is amazing, the service is even better, and the price was about half of what other catering companies quoted us -- with better food. I did enjoy my Doner sandwich. I got the spicy version. It came with a side of French fries. I would have liked some more meat in the sandwich. I wonder if they double meat for some extra dough. We ordered 2 classic Chicago gyros online for pickup. The service was friendly and quick! Gyros were good- fluffy bread with lots of lamb meat. I'd probably ask for grilled onions next time as there are large slices of raw onions that are a bit too much for my liking. They also have some lunch or late night specials. And kids eat free on Sunday when you order a combo platter. One thing to note: do NOT order online. They charged us extra for lamb when the store price seems to cover all types of meats. read more

This is great place for a quick meal at a great price. The restaurant is small with limited tables but a large high-table for larger groups. I like the fact they stay open later than most sandwich and bowl restaurants. The service is great and the food arrived quickly. Only tried two options and my favorite so far is the Berlin Doner on crispy flatbread. It came with a very generous portion of protein (my choice Lamb) and lots of veggies. I returned the very day for lunch and had the mixed meat bowl with seasoned rice and five toppings of my choice. This is a surprising little spot. I have seen this place for years and always wanted to stop be never had the opportunity until recently. Service was reasonable. Friendly and relatively quick. Reminder this isn't fast food this is quick service. So you will need a few min before you get served. Gyro and tzatziki were simple and tasty. What's interesting is the offering of a "spicy" gyro. I did partake in the spicy offering. For me not very spicy. I would say a 3 of 10. But then do offer more sauce on the side. Finally the price just over $15 for a lunch of gyro, fries and a beverage. I seriously almost fainted when I opened my chicken doner salad as it was sprinkled all over with feta cheese (not a fan of feta cheese). The photo of the salad on the menu had pieces of feta cheese so I figured I could easily pick it out...but unfortunately that was NOT the case. But thankfully after spending a good 20 minutes picking out all the feta chunks, I enjoyed my meal. Everything in the salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and bell peppers was very very fresh. I especially loved that some of the purple cabbage was pickled, it was delicious. Meat was decent. I liked that it was seasoned and not super salty. Otherwise it wasn't anything to rave about. Been here many times now and get the Doner gyro every time with fries. Have not been disappointed. The flavor is good and I would suggest that you get the combination meats. Not sure if the cashier is the owner or a manager, however every time we are there, we feel very welcomed and a sincere of gratitude that we are their customers. Fabulous Gyro!! I had a #1 Gyro with lamb and it was delicious from the first bite to the last! The lamb was perfectly cooked and the veggies were fresh! What to get: Doner Kebab, duhhhh What to do next: Become an organ Doner Do disco singers eat here?: Doner Summer does What about Britney Spears?: Idk, but if you find out, Doner let me be the last to know Inside info: The Gyro and Doner are actually the same (shouldn't be, one is Greek, one is Turkish, this is honestly closer to neither lol), but dressed up differently (like Barbi when not at work). So you know the songs "Gyro" (as in, I can be your Gyro, baby), by Tzatziki Iglesias, as well as "(We Could Be) Gyros" by David Bowie, "My Hero" by the Food Fighters, "(And Then A) Gyro (Comes Along)" by Marinade Carry-out, and the song "Gyro" by those wizards of haunting, moving music - Nickelback - and the very controversial, outspoken "We Don't Need Another Gyro" (um, yes we do) by Pita Turner. Not to mention "Working Class Gyro" by John Lemon-potatoes and the even more poignant, meaningful protest song "Gyros In A Half-Pita" by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Well, they actually weren't about this Gyro place. Sorry. We really wanted to love this place but we really didn't. The decor is amazing and the prices are okay (just okay), and the service is okay depending on which day you come here. But really the main thing that we do ratings on is the food, the taste, the enjoyment of the meal itself, and we have very high standards when it comes to Gyros, probably from my time in Milwaukee, Chicago (the birthplace of the US Gyro), NYC and Toronto (the best places to find Greek style Gyros), and places like Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and so on... and even if we didn't have high standards, this wouldn't have been our favourite. They have Doner and Gyros as the name of the business, which doesn't suggest that they really both the same thing, but when you taste them, they are. Neither one tastes so much like the delicious Chicago Greek inspired street food, although that's what they're a fuzzy facsimile of. Neither one tastes like real Greek Gyros either, obvi. Neither one really tastes like the Turkish Doner either. If anything they takes a lot like Halal Guys, and that's basically what you'll be getting here. Between the two I would prefer Halal Guys, not by too much, but I was hoping for something a little bit more refined. In a way, Halal Guys has ruined the fast food Gyro, and finding an actual Gyro has become difficult. I've doner lot of things in my life, and one of them is to eat here at Doner & Gyros, and I may do so again. Maybe. So if this was in Europe, it'd be Doner & Euros. Whereas if you were only allowed to visit it once in your life, it'd be Doner & YOLO. Now, I'll let Bonnie Tyler close out the review. I need a Gyro! I'm holding out for a Gyro in the Sugar Land night! It's gotta be hot and it's gotta be big and you've gotta give me the first bite... I need a Gyro! read more

I had the most excellent experience with this restaurant and location. I used their catering for my sisters baby shower, and Salim (the location owner) was the most kind, helpful person ever. I struggled with ordering online and the timing, and he assured me he would take care of all of the issues and promised me a perfect delivery- and he succeeded! he even offered to retrieve serving utensils for me from the dollar store when I was in a bind. he provided me with his personal cell number to ensure everything was smooth and the delivery was perfect! and the food was DELICIOUS. the guests raved about it and it was such a smooth and excellent catering process.
