Decathlon is a little gem in Canadian / Quebec retail business, in my opinion. You rarely get this level of respect for the customers, the customer service, the value, and the variety of the good offered there. There are both quality and inexpensive options offered. During our last visit, the sales representative Lea has made our visit extremely successful and productive. She approached us and shared her valuable experience in various products in the equestrian section and helped us to select the best available ones according to our needs. I would like to thank her for her passion, attention to the details and willingness to help the customers. Also the store hours are very convenient, closing at 7pm instead of 6pm Mon-Wed makes a lot of difference for working people. read more

A huge sports store. Very well maintained and has stuff for just about any sport you are playing or thinking of starting. I think I was unlucky to start tennis at the time I did because they were always out of my size in the skirts and shorts! I visited a handful of times too and never found anything in my size but I did like the merchandise. I can't comment on the helpfulness of the staff because I don't ask any questions but this is a great store and I love going with my dad. read more

We went there looking for hiking gear on a Wednesday evening. We knew we would find most of the things we were looking for in this store. On a Wednesday evening, it is pretty quiet. We were surprised on how much things they have there. Also decent clothes at decent prices. The good: Lots of things at different prices. Lots of choices. Good quality. Areas to test out different products before purchasing (really helpful). Young workers very helpful and resourceful also (which was a little shocking to be honest). Lots of space in alleys and floor. Intriguing cash out system. The bad: It is really hard to find anything bad about this place. I assume that the equipment might not be " top of the line " with these prices, but it worked for me. Oh, their climbing machine was out of order. If you are planning on buying things to try out a sport, or good clothes at competitive prices, this is the p'ace to go. read more

I agree with the post below, definitely reminded me of an Ikea for sports and I really like going to Ikea. The place is huge, having a good selection of sports equipment and really well priced. Normally sporting goods can get pricey quite quickly and having the option for a good quality but still affordable piece of equipment is great to encourage people to new sports. They have all sorts of gaming areas to try. If you go on the weekend there will be mostly kids running around though. For certain services you need to be a member, for example like skate sharpening. Think Ikea but for sports goods. The shopping experience is entertaining to say the least. They have a badminton area, rock climbing wall, trampolines and more that will occupy your kid. The quality and pricing is at par with Ikea products which isn't too bad but yes not top of the line of course. ex1) I bought a pair of sandals for $20 which have lasted me several months and I abused them in parks and gardens and figured they would wear out fast but they never did. I must admit despite them lasting as long as they have they do have a quasi cheap feel to them. I think I should have opted for the $30 "premium sandals" for the added comfort. ex2) $10 backpack. It is made from a cheap material and strings get caught in the zipper and if it's real hot outside it's not breathable at all and my back gets really sweaty from it. Also major bummer: I see around 1 woman a week downtown with the SAME BAG! I should have opted for the $25 "premium" bag made with more breathable materials. ex3) $25 inflatable mattresses. Zero complaints! They had a more premium model but it was way more expensive and I'm happy with my purchase. In this case, the cheapest product was the best value for dollar. ex4) cute leggings for myself, socks for everyone, shirts for everyone etc... All the clothes washed well and I don't remember the prices but it was very reasonable and the quality is excellent. So, opt for the premium or middle range priced stuff and you're still getting a good deal. You can't go wrong with the clothes. read more

Impressively, there are many experimential areas used for testing out their products. You can play with the equipment, there is even a gym and virtual reality area to immerse yourself "outdoors". If you are tired from shopping, come relax at the in-store coffee shop, there is a food struck offering small treats too. The concept is very unique and the experience is engaging. Similar to big chains like Ikea or Costco that let you try their products- Decathlon has everything on display and a great return policy. Sign up for their free membership so that all your purchases are recorded and you never have to worry about losing a receipt. There is equipment and clothing for a range of activities you wouldn't find everywhere, such as equestrianism, gymnastics, ballet, sailing, fishing or hunting however you do not need to be engaged in any sports to shop here. If you need a rain jacket, coat, sunglasses or hats for summer, a new bathing suit, sneakers or just a backpack for school, look no further! The only drawback - if you are plus sized, there won't be any clothes for you here. The sizing is European which can translate to small, with their shoes too. And although much of their clothing is cheap (like $3 tees), it is usually because the fabric is very thin. Still some great deals to be found and it is the perfect place to try a new sport or activity since it is so much more affordable than elsewhere (ex: big range of bicycles for all levels). I went to decathlon to buy a soccer net and target net for my sons birthday. The sales guy did not look like he knew his job and sold me the soccer net and target net. Turns out the soccer net and taget net don't match in size and i misplaced the receipt while carring the large box to my car. I went back to exchange the target net and they refused even though it was not my fault they sold me 2 products that dont match. I didnt want my money back. Just a simple exchange. I had to contact customer service and after a week they still havent fixed the probelm. Asking me if i could contact my bank and jump through hoops when it was their fault for selling me the wrong product. Its amazes me how bad this company is at customer service. They just want to sell you cheap goods and dont care if there is a problem once you bought it. Done with these kinds of rip off stores. read more

Ordered online for over $700 of merchandise. After 1 month the package was still showing as not moving online. Contacting the customer service by email was no clear answer. The status changed for delivered one day but no communication from Decathlon! My last email didn't evven get answered! After a call the person told me they will take care of it and worst case they will refund me. I told them I didn't want that, I just want what I ordered. 1 day after no email, no call and a refund! Being from France I am used to a pretty good customer service there. It seems that this part of the business dind't made it accross the Atlantic! I've thought buying a bike from them this year after the terrible service I got last when I took in an old bike was horrible. However I've had issues with this bike since I bought it and have had it in over 5 time in three months. Looks like from now on I will take it to an actual bike shop to have work done. Had our first visit to Decathlon today in Quebec City with my wife. I like to say I was saddened by what I saw in terms of what I was expecting. Zero service in the isles and people working there seem to be there only to help you pay for the products. If you are looking for low to mid range products maybe to try a sport then it is an OK buy but For anything quality you need to go elsewhere like MEC. Products were scattered everywhere and what I needed was empty even if stock said they had it. Ended up at MEC and La Vie Sportive to find what we wanted. Don't think I will be going there again unless I need something cheap. Was sad as I had higher expectations for this place but I seem to get let down a lot lately with stores or how people conduct business as professionals. read more

Very suspicious Website. To create an account, I tried to enter my phone no. more than twenty different ways, it kept rejecting all of them. This is the only Website that requires you to login to Facebook or Messenger.com to access customer support Chat. I got an email from Facebook requesting confirmation that I wanted to change my password. WTF? The Website has a suspicious Chinese flavor. Stay away. I purchased a rowing machine online, in march 2021, and it broke less than a year later, in march 2022; and despite the fact that it is still under guaranty, I have neither been able to have it fixed, nor received any compensation for it, after almost 6 months of waiting and calling and sending emails back and forth with the company employees. Now they're asking me to disassemble the machine myself, ship it back to them, only to get a store credit (excluding taxes). read more

Prices are decent - they have some 'super low' prices but the quality seems chintzy. When you compare equal quality brand name items vs their in-house brand of similar quality the savings are not all that fantastic. I still prefer MEC for high quality durable goods. If you are willing to sacrifice quality a little, it will do. But, meh. Underwhelming. read more

They want you to believe that they care about customer service but in reality, they don't. Try returning a bike helmet. Any store in Quebec would accept it but not Decathlon. It's against their policy. They don't tell you when you buy it. read more

HORRIBLE! purchased a bike for my daughter and within days the rubbed tire fell apart as she was riding. After weeks of discussing this situation with them and wanting an exchange on this hazardous bike I've been told this is due to deflated inner tube inside the tire and it happens when it sits in there warehouse for too long. So because they have had a bike in there warehouse for too long it's my problem that it arrived this way. My daughter fell off as she was riding, how is that exceptable. Tire no long stays inflated and I've had the bike for 2 weeks and it was only riden 3 times. Save your money and shop elsewhere. They tell you that your child's safety is at there utmost priority but thats all BS. At end of day I've been told there's nothing they can do in terms of exchange because it's common practice to pump your tire every time your ride it. Well we own Cannondales and I've never ever had to do that before. We purchased the ROCKRIDER ST 120 20" KIDS MOUNTAIN BIKE, don't buy it. But I honestly wouldn't buy nothing from them as I saw another review on here with the same issue. Btw there bikes are made in China so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with there crappy workmanship. I had such high hopes in this company.
