We gave Hudson Appliance the dimensions of the refrigerator that we needed to replace and accepted…read moretheir recommendation. The item they delivered, however, was too deep and did not fit the space, actually blocking one of the entrances to our unit. We also had told them that the doors had to be reversed to open on the right, but that was not how it was delivered. When advising them of the problems, Hudson asked if we had checked the dimensions of the unit they recommended; to which I replied, "Did you check the dimensions we gave YOU?" No reply. When I asked why the installers didn't call Hudson to alert them that the refrigerator was blocking the door, I was told that they "just deliver and set up." When we told them that the doors were not reversed as we had asked, they told us that they could not be reversed; despite their telling us originally that they could. Despite this being clearly their fault, when we asked them to take it back, Hudson said that we would be responsible for a 30% restocking fee. We had considered going to Small Claims Court to resolve this, and we are confident that we would have won; however, we decided that it was not worth our time to save $250. They eventually took back the refrigerator and charged the 30% restocking fee. Having spent 30 years in senior management for large and small retail companies, I can say with conviction that this was extremely poor customer service and one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a consumer. I do not like leaving negative reviews, particularly for small box stores, but given their indifference to us, I feel compelled to call out Hudson Appliance for this terrible experience.

We have a Whirlpool fridge and the ice maker broke down. I called many places for repair but…read moreJarvis was one of the only that said they could handle it. There was a significant six-month delay as the part was not available at the beginning of the pandemic, but eventually it arrived and was installed promptly. It's two years later now and the ice maker is working great. I'd knock off a half star for the delay which wasn't communicated well in that I was told for months it was just 2 weeks out. It was really a pandemic shipping problem. I'd prefer they say they just don't know. Tony eventually looked into it to explain what was going on. Also - I bought a new dishwasher last year. I wish I'd bought it from them as I think after installation and delivery, they were probably the best deal. Next time I will shop them first.

Don't buy Jarvis if your intent is to purchase an extended warranty. I have been a customer for…read moremany years and their post sales experience is just terrible. They do not do their own warranty work - like Yale - but farm it off to a 3rd party warranty company. This company, if they don't outright deny your claim, assigns the claim to a small appliance servicer who writes the up the repair order so that your claim never makes it off the desk of God knows who at the warranty company. Trying to get an explanation as to why your claim was denied is so painful they mercifully disconnect you before you have the opportunity to express your disappointment or ask for an explanation. So much for the extended 5 or 6 year warranty package, apparently a major profit center for Jarvis I would imagine. Run, don't walk to Yale Appliance, a 100% in house operation.
