Filipp repaired our dryer which had power but was not heating. Not only did he fix the blown fuse but also changed out old/ worn out parts. He even changed out our dryer vent tube which was in a rough shape. All this at a very reasonable charge. He was very honest about what the issue was and didn't try to upsell anything even though we have an older dryer. He also gave us advice on general dryer maintenance which we really appreciated. Highly recommend and will definitely be our go to person for appliance repairs! read more

Filipp was so wonderful to work with! He was communicative about the appointment and even volunteered to come late after my working hours. He fixed the problem with my water dispenser and provided me with good ideas for keeping it in shape + keeping my other appliances running. He was incredibly friendly and kind and affordable. He will definitely be my go-to appliance person moving forward. read more

Phil arrived when he said he would and texted when he was on his way. He was very efficient, polite and knowledgeable. And most importantly, he fixed the problem (refrigerator water filter issue) and the cost was reasonable. Will definitely call Smart Appliance again if we need help. I highly recommend. read more

These guys are great -- they responded promptly to schedule an appointment and showed up exactly when they said they would. I had Alex come to service my old dryer that wasn't heating anymore and couldn't be happier with the work he did. He showed me exactly what was wrong, was back in touch with an accurate and fairly priced estimate on what it would cost to fix after sourcing the part, and returned promptly to do the rest of the work (which they also warranty). He gave a lot of good advice about how to generally maintain my washer and dryer to make them last a long time, and didn't try to upsell me on anything. My dryer is from 2005, and he could have easily recommended a new one, but the old ones have much better build quality compared to what is currently being sold, and I was very happy to keep it running instead of in a landfill somewhere. I will definitely contact them again whenever I need appliances inspected or repaired, and so should you! read more

Highly recommended business. They responded promptly to a request through Yelp and provided a reasonable quote for the dishwasher rack repair. They arrived in time as promised, completed work perfectly, and remained exactly within the quote provided. I will be using this business again in the future if any needs arise. read more

Today I had the pleasure of having my Samsung refrigerator serviced by Filipp, owner of Smart Appliance. For starters, Filipp is a gregarious soul with a great demeanor. He quickly assessed the situation and provided not only a corrective action but a subsequent checkout of the unit. The issue turned out to be a couple of plugged drains that were causing leaks on my floor. Filipp then provided a full checkout to ensure the Refrigerator was functioning to spec and replaced my freezer gasket with one I had recently purchased. I asked him to take a look at my dryer while he was here and he cleaned out the vent which was a bit full of lint. I learned more about my appliances and how to keep them running than I could have ever imagined. If you're looking for an affordable, honest, really nice guy, here's your service provider. He'll be mine for any future appliance service needs. read more

Washing machine STB and Fillip came over , looked it over and said , pretty much , it's not worth fixing because you can get a new one for not a lot more $$ . That's what we did . Came and installed and also did some other stuff to make my dryer work better . He was honest and really great guy . Next time an appliance goes kaput he will be my first call !! Thank you read more

Fantastic communication. Service done promptly and professionally even though it was later in the day. We got exactly the model of microwave we picked out and it looks and works great. Would hire Smart Appliance again if needed. Best appliance repair and install !! read more

Excellent experience. Big things: - Very responsive. It was quick and easy to get questions answered via messaging. - Calendar savvy. It was easy to get an appointment. There were no mistakes about dates or confusion about time. They showed up when they said they would and communicated their arrival time in detail. - Got the job done (microwave oven installation) fast and at a good price. - The result is solid. No weird wobbles or squeaks. I have no doubts this will last a long time. Little things: - Masks on their faces, shoe covers on their shoes. - Mats and throws to keep things clean and protected. - Vacuum cleaner to clean up. No mess! - Even carried away the installation trash (boxes, packing material, etc.). Other: - Clean, shiny van with cool logo. Why does this matter? I like the attention to detail. If they take care of their own things, they might take care of mine too. - Gave honest feedback about future jobs: I can do so-and-so for this much, but you may not like the result for these reasons, so think about if you really want to do it. Just plain excellent. read more

In this situation Smart Appliance recommended replacing my 11 year old refrigerator, rather than spending hundreds to repair it. I appreciate their thoughtful, quick responses, their honesty in not pushing me to throw good money after bad, and their brand recommendations for the replacement. Will definitely reach out again if I run into anything else! Thanks! read more

Wonderful! Aleksey repaired my LG dryer, and I swear it's better than new! He also checked my washing machine and said all was well. He did a detergent test and, boy, I got to use less! Mostly he undid the horrible "repair" I'd gotten a few months before. It was so egregious - wrong part, missing and incorrect screws, that I should go back and find them and give a negative review. I'd wrongly given them the benefit of the doubt. Anyways, their bad work was fixed by Smart Appliance and then some. Thank you so much, Aleksey! read more

Great Service and honesty from smart appliance. We had our dishwasher not running for a month or 2 and figured we'd finally put a call in to get it fixed. I want to say Filipp came to fix it and he was excellent, he gave me information about what was wrong, and what possible steps we should take moving forward. I appreciated the honesty and candid way that he explained things, giving me more information than I even needed. He was every nice and was great to talk to. I should also note we were the last call of his day and he made it at about 7:30 PM, yet never seemed in a rush or rude. We will definitely come back, hopefully we don't need to too soon. read more

Great communication from the owner during the initial request for work. The technician, Alex, called prior to his arrival and came during the time frame that was arranged. He recommended replacing the dryer rather than repairing based upon the age of the dryer. He also recommended which brands to buy and which to stay away from. I appreciated his honesty. I recommend using Smart Appliance! read more

Great guy. Was communicative, on-time, and he explained everything clearly. Will definitely use Smart appliance again. read more

Amazing service! Smart Appliance was extremely reliable and very timely in helping us fix our fridge. I would highly recommend and would hire again if needed read more

This repair company was fantastic. They've fixed a few appliances for us over the course of this year and they were terrific with each. They are super knowledgable - know appliances inside and out. Very professional, very honest and nice as well. They've become our go-to repair people to call. They've helped us with several appliances through the past year: Our Bosch dryer would stop drying in the middle of the cycle, and they fixed it quickly. Then a few months later our Samsung refrigerator stopped making ice - Phillip came out with the right replacement parts and fixed it in a cost effective way. Then another part broke on our fridge months later, and again he came out and was incredibly helpful. I highly recommend them. read more

Five stars, outstanding. Texted Phil, he responded immediately, scheduled for the next day, issue was resolved. Alex the technician was on time and did a great job. read more

My LG refrigerator has 2 ice makers and both stopped working I texted Smart Appliance and almost immediately heard back from Phil. He let me know their shedule was booked out for a couple of weeks. Because of all the positive reviews, I decided to wait. I'm glad I did. hen he came, Phil was able to take care of the problems quickly. At the same time, he saw some potential issues which he explained and took care of as part of the same repair process. Everything was done in a friendly, efficient way, with no attempt to complicate things or persuade meto make additional repairs. I will certainly use Smart Appliance for any future needs and I highly recommend them. read more

Responded quickly to the online message. Got us scheduled within two business days. Explained the repairs and gave us the option to say no. Cost was fair given the effort and knowledge required. Shared lots of advice to help stretch the remaining life of our washer and dryer. I'd definitely hire them again. read more

I'm providing this unsolicited review to thank Phil for fixing our GE fridge. Phil was prompt in his communication throughout the process and was able to schedule us in within 3 weeks of connecting. He was very knowledgeable about the appliance, the root cause of the issue and was reasonable in his service charges. Also greatly appreciate his respect and courtesy (was always masked and wore floor protectors on his shoes). Will highly recommend him! read more

I can't say enough about the service and quality of the work done for me. Phil was extremely professional and glad to take on a job another well known appliance company did not want. Phil was on time, safe and attentive to covid regualtions and simply a pleasure to deal with. Smart Appliance is my new repair service. I so appreciate the work. read more

Phil has been amazing with a very temperamental Samsung refrigerator that we have. He has been out here every time that we have called in a timely manner. He has fought for us when Samsung said that they would not cover a part. He is truly a wonderful repair man, and it is refreshing to see how he runs his honest business. I can not recommend him enough! read more

Smart Appliance was the Samsung Pro referred to me when I called the number on my unit for what I feared would be an expensive roller rebuild job. The tech (Alex?) came out and made super quick work of my unit disassembly then took the time to explain to me what had gone wrong, my pulley was beginning to fail causing the squeak, he was able to tackle that, had all the parts with him, and also made sure the unit was clean and everything was back together like it never even happened. Appliance repair always is terrible, but Smart Appliance made it easy (for me), and the price? Totally fair! Thanks guys! read more

Phil is a very personable repairman. We were able to get an appointment from him within one week of when we contacted him. He texted us 20 min before he was going to show up and was on time. He spent more than an hour diagnosing the problem with our dishwasher. It was the lower spray arm not spinning. He gave me a link for the replacement part as he didn't have it with him. Showed me how to replace it. Said he would come back if I had any trouble. Charged a reasonable fee for his service call. Looked at our fridge gasket and some other parts while he was there. Recommended some parts for those. Followed up when the dishwasher part showed up. The problem is resolved. Thank you Phil. We will definitely call you next time we need appliance service. read more

Philip provided incredible service, education and communication. He kept me posted on his arrival time the whole day which was so appreciated. He was as friendly as could be, fixed both my dishwasher & garbage disposal in under 10 minutes, and taught me tons about proper hygiene to take care of both appliances. The pricing was also much fairer than I've seen from other companies who weren't even able to fix the issues. Couldn't recommend more. read more

I have an old LG washer that sounds like it needs new bearings. I called Smart Appliance to see if it was worth repairing. I got a prompt call back and a detailed explanation on why it probably wouldn't be worth it. I appreciate the straight dope! I will definitely keep them in mind next time I need a repair. read more

One of the best services I have used. Filip in most cases able to understand problem without even seeing appliance. Just by the code on the appliance screen. I just called tell him what's going on on my washer digital screen and few days latex he come back with previously ordered part and installed. My washer works again as new and my wife happy as well. That you Smart Appliance for your outstanding service. read more

Excellent service. Phil showed up when he said he would and fixed my washing machine. He went above and beyond what I expected. Highly recommend. read more

As others report, Smart Appliance is great! Even refused to charge us for time spent on extensive messaging back and forth to diagnose washing machine error codes and determine probable repair costs, which resulted in decision to replace rather than repair 7 year old machine. Will definitely use the company for any future appliance repairs. read more

Fantastic! The freezer on our months-old LG fridge stopped making ice and thawed. Called LG and was directed to another repair service and told they would contact me. No call. Did some research and found glowing reviews for Smart Appliance, found they were authorized service and called them directly. Kevin was great on the phone, listened to my problem, arranged appointment. Then called LG to get their authorization. Tim came as scheduled, by which time the fridge again seemed to be working (of course!). He had ideas about potential problem and ordered parts, which he installed as soon as they arrived. He was meticulous about cleanliness as he worked and a pleasure to have in our house. He left with high hopes that the problem has been solved but expressed his sincere willingness to continue to help if the problem recurs. These guys understand the concept of trying to solve appliance issues and build relationships with customers. I wouldn't call anybody else! read more

My new August 2020 Samsung Fridge would not level on my 93yr old kitchen floor. One Samsung tech was useless, the 2nd Samsung tech said I should buy a shim and shim up the roller - and would not fix the levelers that had stopped working. I tried to shim the roller BUT it was impossible! So, 3rd time was the charm! I called Smart Appliance and left a message, then emailed as well to explain my problem. I got an appt within 3 days or so. Philip arrived and wowza!! A miracle worker! He came up with a brilliant fix and put down an 8" wide strip of vinyl flooring under the right side to bring it into level! Next, he fixed my 1yr old Samsung Washer, it wasn't broken but it was dancing every spin cycle and sashaying around the basement. Yale Electric had installed the dryer where the washer should have been placed & causing the hassle of dryer door & washing machine door not opening in sync. He realized the 93yr old concrete floor was smoother on the dryer side AND SWITCHED THEM! OMG NOW IT SITS QUIETLY NEXT TO THE DRYER SPINNING ON HIGH! Philip gave me a tutorial on my washer, telling me to use less detergent, run the self cleaning feature, and more! I highly recommend them! read more

Had a problem with 8yr old Samsung washer. Filipp ordered the part he suspected was the issue after I described the noise and problem. Filipp gave me an estimate to repair including the part. Filipp was honest and said it may not be worth repairing and upon arrival once the parts came they'd assess to make sure nothing else was wrong with my washer. He could return the parts or use on another machine. I'd only need to pay for a service call at that point. Alexey came and tested my washer, he found several possible issues and said at this point he didn't feel it was worth investing the money into an 8yr old machine. I highly recommend Smart Appliance and won't hesistate to call them for future service needs. I greatly appreciated their honesty. read more

Good news for Central Massachusetts! We do have a reliable and very knowledgeable appliance repair company nearby - Smart Appliance of Ashland. My LG Refrigerator ceased to make ice after owning it for only 6 months. After 3 unproductive visits by another repair service recommended by Lowe's, the home office of LG had me contact Smart Appliance. Kevin, the office manager, listened and researched my problem telling me they wanted to be prepared with parts before visiting, if possible. Felipp was assigned to visit/repair and knew the history but listened carefully again. Instead of insisting upon a faulty icemaker assembly like the previous repairmen concluded, Felipp quickly found the "freezer fan assembly" was falling out of place which affected the ice maker's temperature gauge. Sadly, a defect on the liner made it impossible for the fan assembly to click into place permanently. So Felipp called LG and worked through video conferencing to show the entire problem and advocate for a warranty claim. Before leaving he created a temporary fix using ugly packing tape but it has improved the situation. Felipp was not only super knowledgeable but extremely easy to talk with. Kevin was equally good at office communication and anticipating what might need fixing. Smart Appliance is professional and deserves this high rating. read more

Smart Appliance is a really great, honest, and highly knowledgeable company. My washing machine stopped functioning and I called them for a repair. They were extremely helpful, and walked through the specific issues that it could be, and offered to come out promptly. They actually told me how I could save money and effort by replacing the unit vs. the potential repair costs, and recommended a model and local business to buy from. Really upstanding team. I highly recommend them, and will definitely have them come out next time I need an appliance repair! read more

I cannot say enough good about Filipp I was having a HARD time with Samsung over a broken washing machine After 9 hours on the phone, emails to the Office of the President and two cancelled (by them) repair appts (for each of which I took off a full day from work to wait, only to have nobody show), I insisted they let me work with someone local they sent me to Filipp OH HAPPY DAY! He not only came when he said he would, he called or emailed almost daily to let me know of his progress with the BAD customer service people at Samsung He is not even sure if he will be compensated (as was repeatedly promised by Samsung) but he still came by with a smile on his face, eager to set things right Yes, Virginia, there IS customer service His name is Filipp ;) read more

Outstanding communication and service, from start to finish. They were easy to schedule, and the technician who came over was very thorough with fixing my fridge and stove. We spoke afterwards on potential long-term solutions to my washer, which was acting up but wasn't quite ready for any repairs. He was honest and provided clear recommendations on how to handle my washer, even at the expense of him making the repair now which would have earned him more work/payment. Total costs were reasonable and transparent. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my experience and will definitely be hiring them again for future appliance repairs. read more

Smart appliance has been FABULOUS! I had an issue with Samsung oven/range. They came out assessed the situation but SAMSUNG failed miserably as Smart Appliance recommended a total replacement and Samsung has been giving me the run around. Kevin Maynard the office manager has been an outstanding advocate. He stayed on the phone with me and Samsung to validate the complaint. I can tell you I have never had any company be so invested in or provide so much help to a customer. I will recommend them always as an outstanding company with which to do business.
