She specializes in strategic test taking and test anxiety, which are the two tools you need the most when taking a timed exam. Grace has over four years of formal teaching experience and then eight years of tutoring experience. Math is not an easy subject to learn, and not easy to teach, but she makes it simple and fun, and follows up with students to make sure that they fully understand the concepts. Like I said, she is awesome at finding ways to set students up for success and eliminate test anxiety while highlighting and simplifying test taking into strategies and time management. I appreciate that the camps are fun and educational, and I also appreciate that the attendees are diverse. The camps are pricier than others in the area, but they also have a small student-to-staff ratio of 6:1 that I prefer. (I find that larger ratios mean that well-intentioned adults don't always know what all the kids are saying/doing and my little ones pick up habits that I don't like). I also echo the challenge with the camp hours: 8am-4pm (with an extra daily cost for this extended care rather than 9am-3pm standard hours) is tricky for working parents. Even though the hours aren't ideal, we'll be sending our kids here again.

Here's the scenario: Fall 2019 semester with my third attempt at passing the required stats class for my degree, This was literally the very last class I needed. If I didn't pass this time, I was not going back. My university was out of state, my class was online and while there was an instructor, he was more of a moderator. The platform was Pearson MyStatLab. I am not the brightest light in the shed when it comes to stats and my light was getting dimmer and dimmer with my pre-Cameron tutor. Just like this was my third attempt at the class, Cameron was my third tutor and finally, "The One". My first tutor wanted to just show me everything on his phone. The second tutor had children I could hear fighting in the background. With Cameron, even though we were online screen sharing, and on the phone, there was never any background noise. If I needed a visual, which was quite often, we would use Scribblar. There were instances when my brain just came to a screeching halt and my head would hit the desk, but Cameron with the patience of Job, would wait for me to come up with the solution. When it just wasn't there, I would tell him, and he would guide me to the answer. We stayed on task. We got the work done. He very patiently waited for me to take screen shots so I could use them as visual aids. He sent me tips through e-mail. I passed my third exam, even though I'm sure I stopped breathing at some point before that exam, and the class even after I failed the first two exams. Here's to you Cameron with my eternal thanks.
