I recently bought what I thought as a pretty solid little motorhome-- from Rhode Island. First real view of undercarriage was in Oklahoma City where a VW dealer could actually fit it on a lift on my drive back to the Duke City. The undercoating that looked good in sellers driveway showed loose edges that when lightly pulled came off in sheets-- revealing total rust! Once home safely I began the journey to find someone here confident enough to work on rust. Have to say McBrides were my first champions to fabricate and weld in structural supports for the rear springs. Then was finding someone to get all the loose rust off to evaluate next steps. This is when Rorick from Dyna Mo's came by and gave me a a couple options. He was confident and found an outdoor lift where he could blast the undercarriage of this little RV. Rorick did a really thorough job getting all the loose undercoating and flaky rust off. He offered to blast it to clean bare metal but I was afraid of what would be left! He blasted it down to firm metal albeit rusty-- just what I requested. AND for a third the cost of another blaster ! The other guy claimed he need 2 days bla-bla-bla. Rorick did the blasting in 2 hours! When it was done it was not nearly as bad as I worried it might be. For rust treatment I opted for Rust Doctor over Eastwood Converter to penetrate the rust, turn it into magnetite, and seal and prime it for later application of Eastwood's Encapsulator. Getting ready for cutting out bad rust and welding in new metal... I am a licensed GC and am always blown-away how some gouge for work that requires a specialty. Rorick is a professional and fair. After shopping around on line to find someone to strip three old metal milk cans, I ran into Rorick and Diane Ward's Dynamo's Blasting. Not only was the price right (less than half of what other outfits are charging), but here's a team of professionals that are passionate about what they do, proud of it, and they deliver what they promise. If I could upload before and after photos here I would to show you, but imagine 50+ year old cans with crusty old paint and rust. Now they're stripped to bare metal and I've got a real foundation to bring them back to life and use with pride as seats and end tables on my patio. These guys are awesome!! I had some registers that had years of old paint and caked on dust on them. Even though they had a lot of work going on, they were able to accommodate me and my job. the registers look brand new after the blasting and powder coating! I highly recommend these guys!
