The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable, and there was a wide selection of products.

Loved this little store. Very friendly staff and nice selection of items. I got a few items and have been enjoying them.

This place is 100% worth a visit. Such an awesome staff and a surprisingly large selection for such a relatively small shop. The best part is that they have nearly every item on display with a store model. Meaning, you can actually touch and hold the item before making a purchase. This seems like a small thing, but it's a game changer. Go and you won't be disappointed. read more

This is the absolute best feeling store to walk into. Super bright and the people that work there are very welcoming and friendly. Sex stores are typically kind of grungy and just don't feel good. This one is the complete opposite! Even if it's your first time and you're just curious to see what they have definitely pop in you won't regret it. read more

Very reasonable prices, wide selection and the employee who helped us was very kind/friendly/knowledgeable! Street parking was fairly close by! read more

Such a gorgeous shop! It has a mix of vintage items blended in with tasteful sex toys, lingerie, educational books etc. We really enjoyed browsing and buying a variety of items. The owner chatted us up and is super friendly so don't be shy about how a product works or what type of lubricant goes with glass vs silicone. The whole experience was just lovely. They even have free condoms for women and men in case you are in need. It is the only sex toy boutique in New Orleans so definitely visit if you're local or visiting. This splendid store is worth your time plus they carry lots of local products, leather wear, etc so you can get your shopping local positive karma on. read more

As a queer woman who came of age in New Orleans before moving away a few years ago, I had always desperately wanted a sex positive shop with a wide selection of items, knowledge staff, and inclusive practices. After moving back earlier this year, I am delighted to report that we finally have one! Dynamo Boutique has quickly become a favorite, go-to shop of mine. Every couple weeks I find myself coming up with Ana excuse to go in, and always end up leaving satisfied with something in my bag. Whether you're going for a new toy, a sexy new fashion item, or just restocking on some lube, this is THE place to go in New Orleans. Of course, selection of items is only part if what makes a community sex shop notable, and I'm happy to report that they also shine in the "community department." In my visits, I have had a chance to speak with both owners, who are both incredibly knowledgeable about sexuality and the wares that they sell, and are both supremely friendly and approachable. No purchase is too weird, and no question too out of place for them. If I have any complaint, it's that their porn selection is severely lacking - which is to say, there is little to none kept in stock, especially of the video variety. However, this is a rather niche interest of mine, and I'll concede that they do have a great selection of OTHER reading material available for purchase, from kink basics to advanced anal to determining if an open relationship is right for you. I also need to add: this place hosts amazing community workshops for sex and relationships. The workshops themselves vary somewhat in quality, but overall are a good experience. More importantly, however, is the accessibility: the workshops are affordable, and provide a service to the community - especially in being so inclusive of sexualities and genders outside of a cis-hetero lens. All in all, Dynamo is not only my new favorite sex shop in New Orleans, but also probably one of my favorite shops ever. The service and selection is top-notch, and what they provide to the community is nothing short of amazing, and long-needed in the city. I hope to continue seeing it along, and will continue to do my part to keep it a part of this community. read more

I absolutely love this store. So I've been to Dynamo a few times and I love it. I've been to other Adult stores before and just walking inside, made me feel a little uncomfortable and overall like I shouldn't be there. Yet walking into Dynamo, you can feel the love. The girls who work there are so sweet and understanding and willing to answer any questions you may have. And they don't make you feel embarrassed/uncomfortable for asking. It's not just a store to buy toys, lube, or anything else you may be interested in... it's so much more. What Dynamo offers is a safe space to talk about what everyone wants yet are too afraid to discuss out loud. Yet it's done in such a way that you don't walk out feeling ashamed of something that is so normal. You walk out feeling empowered. Dynamo thank you for allowing this Daughter of a Southern Baptist Deacon, to feel proud to own my sexuality and not be embarrassed or ashamed of it. read more

These ladies are so helpful and informative. When you buy online you just never know the weight, speed, feel, etc here you can see and feel materials as well as ask how things feel. I've never seen a comfortable store like this where sex is okay to discuss, cause really it's part of our life...hopefully. It's an investment I your marriage if that's your place in life. read more

Dynamo offers something that has been sorely lacking in the New Orleans area for a long time: a progressive, education-focused, lady-friendly sex toy boutique. The girls who run this shop are both geeks about human sexuality and that's good news for customers, because it feels totally safe to ask them any and all questions about the products they sell and their uses. Plus, they organize regular workshops around the city and bring in guest speakers on all things sexy-time... They've hosted Q&As that cover topics like BDSM, how to keep monogamy exciting, and the art of dirty talk. They're also really into body-safe products, which is SO reassuring compared to the many toxic plastic toys you might find in one of the touristy French Quarter shops. Their current location is a cozy space upstairs from The New Movement theater on St. Claude, but they also set up pop-ups at local burlesque shows and other events, plus they do private parties for bachelorettes. (Of course!) Their prices are also really reasonable, and if you want something they don't currently stock, they can usually special order it for you. read more

It was amazing and so personal and helpful. It changed the perception of a sex shop for us

Dynamo is a very fun and safe space to explore without feeling shamed for your kinks or curiosity. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful shop...everything is displayed well and vibrators charged and ready for testing. Great assortment of items but not overwhelmingly so. I told the store owner I had tried to stop by the day before when they had to close early due to internet issues and she gave me a discount on my purchase. Very sweet and totally unnecessary but she clearly cares for her customers. read more

I have always loved the service and class options at Dynamo, but recently I had an experience that just put them over the top! After buying a product and discovering it wasn't up to standard I contacted Dynamo, who reached out to the local maker, got me replacement items, and kept me updated on when they would be available throughout the process so I could make the exchange. I cannot praise them highly enough- so glad we have them in New Orleans! read more

Friendly staff and surprisingly reasonable prices. It's a small see, so it's a bit easy to miss. I'll be back!

I have zero experience with adult shops. I needed a wearable unmentionable for my costume and was surprised to find Dynamo in my own neighborhood. A switched-on woman with deep product knowledge showed me around the store and helped me find just the right thing. Dynamo is a small, tastefully decorated shop of perhaps 1,000 square feet) in a cute New Orleans cottage. After my visit I did some research to find that the $50 billion"adult" sector is stuffed with products, many many versions and variations of the same thing - enough to fill the average Walmart. Dynamo offers a very helpful alternative with a carefully curated collection of the best options in each category. I was amazed to note there were only a couple of Yelp reviews reflecting the need for confidentiality, I guess. I hope more of their customers step up and give this place the ZZKudos it deserves. read more

Everything about this shop and the ladies that run it is incredible. The products are safe, well-researched, and high quality. The workshops are fun, educational, and reasonably priced. The owners care about their customers and community. Not just recommended, in my opinion, the best place to get all your toys, tools, and brush up on your techniques, too. read more

I visited this shop with two friends - one being completely new to the whole idea. Because the shop is not yet ready to open, we were able to set up a private appointment. The front room was filled with plenty to look at and purchase. All display models are powered via battery or plug and even one that recharges like phone through a usb cord. Once the remodeling and the shop are complete, I can only imagine how amazing this place will be. The private appointment was perfect for the first-timer in our group and she felt completely at ease asking questions (the other two of us felt the same way.) I agree with the previous reviewer that this is a progressive, lady-friendly sex boutique. They sell safe products - not the cheap toxic ones you find everywhere else in the city. There is no pressure to buy anything, but we could not help ourselves and all three of us left with bags containing multiple items. We met with Hope and I can tell you from experience you can ask her just about anything and she will answer without any judgment. She really believes in educating and empowering women and is an asset to this city. Their prices are very reasonable for the product you get and well worth it. I believe they do pop-up shops while they are finishing the remodel and I highly encourage anyone - especially those who are new or too nervous, shy or embarrassed to visit the type of shop you typically find in New Orleans - to go check them out. You owe it to yourself. read more
