We have had a wonderful experience with Dynamite Gymnastics. Our preschool aged son has been going to Dynamite for the last 8 months or so, and loves it. Although gymnastics isn't always the first sport that comes to mind for young boys, it's great for body awareness, coordination, and flexibility (which will be helpful in any other sport that they may want to participate). The classes at the younger ages are also pretty mixed with boys and girls. If taught properly, it also provides structure for social interactions--taking turns, sitting attentively and approaching tasks with clear intent, etc. Our son is constantly jumping and rolling around the house/playground practicing skills he learned that week and is excited for class every week. We've also had a recent birthday party there and will also do the summer camp soon. Here is a summary of our experiences so far: 1) Facilities and safety--clean, well organized, and most importantly, safely set up. For the preschoolers, the obstacle areas are regularly reconfigured for new challenges. The equipment is also very well maintained. There is also a comfortable waiting area for parents and plenty of clear viewing areas (and screens). This is for the Dynamite main location (there is also the Agility Center and Bolt Parkour next door which is part of the same cluster which also seem fine). 2) Owner/management--Michelle is the owner and is wonderful. She spent time discussing what we were looking for there and then matched us with the right coach which made all of the difference in a successful start (and the best coaches to start with--she was spot on in her advice). 3) Coaches/classes--excellent. Our son started with Ky, who has a lot of experience and an energetic personality that is welcoming to the kids. She provided just the right type of nurturing as well as attention to detail and positive feedback (and social structure discipline--waiting turns, etc.). Our son has started a new time/class with Robert K and he's been wonderful too. Very kind with the kids, is very safety conscious, and notices little details (and demonstrates skills very well). Our son was challenged right away and learned a lot while having fun (while being encouraged with positive feedback as he worked on techniques). We have also seen other coaches come over to help when a child is having trouble with a technique and look out for each other's classes. 4) Culture--we have had many nice interactions with other families, and the children there are so polite and aware (e.g., holding the doors for someone else, not blocking the pictures that a parent of a new child is taking during class, etc.). The culture of both the staff and other families there is one of teamwork (there isn't the toxic feel that some gyms or competitive sports have, yet there is certainly skill and discipline t here--just the right balance of work, safety, and fun). 5) Birthday parties--great experience without having to worry about weather. The parents were able to relax and the children could run around in a safe environment with responsible coaches there (and try out pretty cool equipment). Definitely do the inflatable add-on--that was a hit (huge inflatable animal themed obstacle course/tunnel that the children loved). Our son's school has coaches who visit and have the kids do different obstacle courses, sports, and physical challenges. More than one coach has asked if our son takes classes in something because he's doing skills well ahead of his age group. A very large part is due to the classes he's taking at Dynamite (we've notice very solid and steady improvement this entire year). If you're looking for an athletic outlet for your child, then I highly recommend the Dynamite Gymnastics Center and coaches for a safe, fun, and properly challenging gymnastics home. read more

Every gymnastics center that my son or daughter has been to in the past has given stickers or stamps to kids at the end of class. This is the first gymnastics center that I've ever seen actually deny a child a stamp as a consequence for not behaving. I am not against consequences if a child misbehaves, but this action to me honestly seemed like an easy way out for a gym teacher as opposed to either working with the child or connecting with the parent first. My 4 year old daughter was left crying at the end of the class, and she no longer felt as comfortable in the class from that point on. We have since changed to another gym that does not provide stamps or stickers but rather (from my observation) focuses solely on teaching the children, making sure they're having fun, and correcting bad behavior as soon as they see it. My daughter did have some fun times at this gymnastics center, and it is unfortunate that we had to move to another center. I hope this review helps encourage a better way to using (or not using) stamps / stickers for kids. read more

Our kids have been going to Dynamite for a couple of years now, both for gymnastics and for Birthday parties. The experience had been generally good for us. The staff has been helpful. Signing up the kids for classes has been easy. They do have many classes available for all groups. The instructors are good here. They do have many instructors available for the classes and private events. The place is good to - lots of different things to do for kids. The waiting area is a bit cozy tho and the restrooms could do with some TLC. Bottom line, a good place for gymnastics! read more

We have been so happy with this gymnastics center since we enrolled our daughter in their program last November. They have knowledgable, friendly, professional staff who are courteous and helpful. Melissa, in particular, is very good. My daughter comes out of each class with a huge grin on her face, consistently exclaiming the class was "amazing." She loves this place and we anticipate continuing classes for many years. Their handling of Covid procedures has also been excellent. My daughter had a trial -cost $40 for 1 hour. You cannot watch your child unless you get an app and login and watch from the 2 measly angles they provide. But even from these terrible angles I saw enough. The gym itself looks amazing! And it is entirely possible my daughter just had a bad coach hence 3 stars and not 2 just in case it is just the coach she had. The coach was not engaged with the kids. She was always leaning against mats like it was a real effort for her to be there. At one point she was leaning and looking down at either her hands or phone - hard to tell because of video quality. Several times she was just not even watching-kids are running around and my daughter spent a lot of time waiting quietly for her turn. The ladies at the front desk were irritable. $40 wasted and perhaps because of a bad coach. Again gym looked great and was clean. read more

We have a very nice instructor and she's very patient with our son. He's very much a boy and runs around constantly. However, one instructor (Jackie) is totally rude and does not know how to talk to people. She should be ashamed of herself. She said, "Your class is over and you need to leave!" I was so dumbfounded at how rude she was that I was speechless. The fact that this woman works with children scares me. It really ruined an otherwise decent experience. read more

I want to love this place for the nice facilities and a few qualified and consistent staff, but on the whole, I have to echo the other parents who have observed that the instructors are clearly unqualified, most are not gymnasts and don't exhibit any technical instructional skills. Most seem to know little about working and communicating with children in a supportive way and teaching them in a way that their skills progress. We have a different instructor every week, and many don't bother to teach anything. For what they charge, they could afford to hire qualified instructors who are gymnasts, gymnastics coaches, or at least who have physical education degrees! read more

We have been bringing our almost 3 year old daughter to Dynamite for a month and have been thrilled. We needed some place for my daughter to get energy out after school and there are very limited places for this during the week. Given she's three her attention span is limited and she doesn't understand why she can't do everything all the time, but that's why the instructors let me come inside with her when she's have a difficult day. We spend 45 minutes trying multiple activities and my daughter is learning safe tumbling, agility, listening skills, and how to participate in group activities! My daughter LOVES going - we couldn't be more thrilled to have found Dynamite. read more

My experience with this facility was absolutely dreadful. First off the actual facility is in a pretty run down manufacturing area. But i will say once you get inside its very tidy. Now the worst part is the management i brought my daughter who was signed up for the three year olds and she was put into a mixture of three year olds and twos. They said they were short and couldn't do anything about it. My problem is they should at least have given a heads up that they were short. This place is not cheap and I don't like the way they handled it. It seems like nobody knows what to do so I will never go back to this facility. I would look somewhere else for you child to start gymnastics. read more

Customers get the "Maryland Business Welcome" on entry: one attendant on duty only, who ignores you while she deals with potential clients over the phone. You need to be part-Vasco de Gama to find the place, as it's located in a tucked-in corner of a decrepit industrial park. For kid parties it's fun once you get past the obstacles. Amazingly, the desk attendant cannot book parties for you- you must do it on the net or on her iPad! Website states the place is closed on Sundays; it's wrong (they are very open) but management scoffs at this when told. read more

Dynamite is incredible! It has given my 4 year daughter so much confidence. She can now jump on the trampoline, do a somersault, a balance beam and more. Because of this, she is using the swings by herself and riding a tricycle. She is obsessed with gymnastics! Parents can't go inside yet but there is WiFi and a camera you can watch. I wanted to like this place, but it's not that clean, the front desk has no customer service, and the classes for the smaller kids has zero structure. It almost feels like they just pulled anyone off the streets to teach some of the classes. I'm not even sure if they instructors are gymnasts. My only experience here has been Open Gym. I took my then toddler several times, but I just hated it so much we stopped going. Way too much yelling (not nicely) at the kids about literally everything for the entire hour... Don't run around the gym! You can only run on that one red mat! (Seriously?) Don't bounce on that trampoline! (Seriously?) No drinks allowed in the gym! (Seriously? I get that you don't want a bunch of 7 year olds spilling gatorade on your mats, but I'm giving a bottle to my 2 month old while keeping an eye on my 3 year old to make sure he doesn't have too much fun.) I'm plugging a place that is close and where the people are sooo nice, and now we go there for Open Gym regularly and my former 2 month old who is now 3 has done classes and loves it, as does my 5 year old...Marva Tots, people. Marva Tots. It's 5 minutes away from Dynamite and the people are great. Even during Open Gym, all the roving staff that are milling around watching the kids will give them pointers on how to do stuff better, and if they're doing something they legit shouldn't, at least they're not a**holes about it. read more

The staff here is absolutely awful and unprofessional, first they have ridiculous rules, don't move this don't touch that, signs notes everywhere. But most disturbing is the fact that this place caters to kids and they should hire people who know how to work with kids, how to speak to them and how to handle them. This staff is loud, rude and have no idea how to be patient and gentle with kids. First they act like they are doing us a favor by letting us in here. So disappointed. Dynamite has the newest facilities in the area and do some incredible work with special needs kids using motion therapy - if i was rating on that they'd get 5 stars. Unfortunately, the owners seem to have become obsessed with expansion and revenue maximization to the detriment of the rest of their students and the team. Overly subscribed classes, especially on Saturday mornings and a lack of professionalism among the Jr. Coaches has come close to ruining our children's enthusiasm for the sport. For example, the coaches regularly spend significant portions of the practice periods on their phones instead of coaching. They even are on their phones during competitions instead of working with the athletes to improve their performance. For this - I would rate them 1 star. read more

The staff is amazing and the facility is clean and bright. I have been to another local gymnastics center, but it was so dark and dirty and not a happy place. So glad this place is here. I've been taking an adult gymnastics class at Dynamite for the last year or so, and I genuinely cannot describe how much I love it. The environment is fun and relaxed, the facilities are spacious and well-maintained, and the people there are fantastic. In particular I want to applaud Gio, my regular instructor, as well as Joe and Candace, who are generally the people in charge of open gym when I'm there. All of them are knowledgeable, fun, friendly and witty while also carefully maintaining the safety of everyone there, and they are at the root of what makes gymnastics the highlight of my week. read more

This place is TERRIBLE. They are horrid. We planned a birthday for my 6 year old here. We confirmed it repeatedly, including TWICE the week before. So we knew date and time. They were good enough to charge $200 before hand. But when we showed up .... Closed. No one. Anywhere. Door locked. Had to put a note on the door. Scrambled to calm a crying little guy and have a party on the fly at home. I wouldn't go anywhere near the place again. I have been impressed with the coaches at Dynamite. My daughter "S" has been there for years and she's so happy. She enjoys the team building that they do without the pressure. Although she's on USAG team, she cares just as much about her team mate's success as her own. The gym is always clean and it's great they need to remove their shoes and wipe down before going into the gym. read more

BEWARE OF BILLING! This is an awesome gym with great classes and parties, but beware of their billing practices. At time of purchase, they do not provide information about re-billing. The monthly re-billing policy information is buried in the FAQ section of their website. If you think you're signing up for one month, you are not; they will re-bill you for the next month until you cancel before the 1st. I find this business practice to be dishonest and disrespectful to the busy parents that they serve. I will be giving Silver Stars my business from now on. read more

Both of my daughters have taken classes here over the last 2 + years and have loved it! They have gained strength, coordination, balance, and more. The teachers are all fantastic with the children, and always greet us with enthusiasm. The fact that this is a family owned and run business is great in this world of multinational corporations. We've have run into teachers out in the community and they have always stopped to say hello, even when my daughter wasn't enrolled in their class anymore. The facility is incredibly clean and nicely organized. I gave it 4/5 stars because i feel that the price is a little high. I suppose you get what you pay for, and we pay a lot and get a lot. Sometimes it's difficult to view what the class is doing, as they are on the edges of the gym, but that is honestly all I can complain about. They are great. We'll be trying out a day camp for the first time next week, which is very convenient as school is closed. Dynamite really thinks of everything! read more

My 12 year old son really wanted to learn basic gymnastics (especially how to do a cartwheel) so we signed him up for a week of Dynamite gym Summer camp (half day at nearby Parkour center that partners with Dynamite gym) as it's near my work. When signing up I asked if my son's lack of gym experience would be a problem and were reassured that the instructors could accommodate all skill levels. On day one we realized there were problems- my son was the only beginning gym student in his group and was already self conscious so he felt miserable. He also preferred the gym environment to Parkour. I called Dynamite that evening and spoke with a wonderful staff who validated my feelings and encouraged me to call the Camp Director Candace the next day. When I called, Candace had been prepped about the situation. She was so KIND and UNDERSTANDING and OPTIMISTIC! She said "we will turn this around!" so that my son would enjoy the rest of his week at camp, and she did. Candace spoke to the counselors to help draw my son out/focus on his strengths. When his group was doing more advanced gymnastics (hand springs, walk overs, etc) and he felt embarrassed that he couldn't do the same things, Candace left her office and gave him 1:1 time to work on more basic things. Her rapport with him was amazing- so upbeat, friendly and respectful, while coaching him to try harder. Another day my son got 1:1 time with another counselor while his group did advanced gym. Candace also arranged it so my son could be at the gym camp all day instead of half day at Parkour, which just wasn't his thing. By the end of the week he had learned to do a cartwheel, among other things, and felt so accomplished! We might sign him up for a Saturday 1.5 hour class with "Joe," another great instructor, during the school year, to help my son build confidence by gradually improving his gymnastic abilities. He isn't aiming to become good enough for a team, just needs exercise and has an interest in learning some skills. I give this place an A+ for being so accommodating once I told them of the problems. I didn't give 5 stars because the location isn't convenient for us in terms of where we live, and it wasn't marketed as a camp for kids who are already skilled so this took us by surprise. It's not Dynamite's fault but I wish there had been a few more beginners in the older kids age group. I also recommend more team building activities at the start although some kids already knew each other. Maybe the camp could reach out more to less experienced older kids in their advertising. Candace, the camp director though- I wouldn't change a thing about her. Her caring, commitment to good customer service and ability to bond with kids shines through and she deserves a bonus!!! read more

Horrible experience. Daughter who's been taking gymnastics for years went to try out a class. Coach was a male which she was slightly apprehensive about. I sat there and watched him make fun of her for not bringing socks to class (no one told us she needed socks-it was her first day of a trial class) saying rudely "YOU DIDNT WEAR SOCKS WITH YOUR SHOES TODAY? It's 30 degrees and you didn't wear socks today????" and then proceeded to tell her to "BORROW THEM" twice raising his voice each time while motioning to the socks. Then while she started looking at socks he said "JUST! GRAB! A! PAIR!" (I forgot to included that part on my facebook review)Ended up with my daughter crying her eyes out and the coach telling me the class wasn't a good fit because she wasn't listening. He denied yelling at her over the socks I guess he didn't know I was sitting right behind the glass and a sign blocking me from view. Who does that to a child???? We were looking for a new gym to give a lot of money and business to as we were wanting our child to take multiple classes a week and private lessons but this will definitely not be the gym for us. Left a message for a manager no response yet. So disgusted. Never left a bad review in my entire life but this I can not walk away quietly from. read more

my girls LOVEEEE coming here! the instructors are super nice and are very friendly however, the only reason I don't rate it a 5 star is because of the African American lady sitting at the front desk. You would think that the first person to "meet and great" everyone walking in would be the friendliest one when you come in but shes not. Shes very Dry, talks to whoever she wants and always has the look/attitude that she doesn't want to be bothered. I try to talk to her the least possible. SHES DEFANATLY NOT A "PEOPLE PERSON" OR THE FIRST PERSON THAT A BUISNESS WANTS TO HAVE WHEN THEIR CUSOMER COME IN. BESIDES HAVING TO INTERACT WITH HER, I WOULD DEFANATLY RECOMMEND THIS GYMNASTIC'S FACILITY TO ANYONE. read more

This is the second time we have had a birthday party there. The first time was fun and the front desk attendant was hepful, but this time it was entirely different. Despite having bought the biggest party package, there were not enough staff to watch the 24 children who were in the gym. The front desk attendant had a bad attitude and the venue did not give us complete information - for example last year we were told that when we arrived we could put in the final count for the pizza. When I told the front desk attendant at the very beginning of the party that we might have to increase the order she looked at me and said, well, I already placed the order this morning. I told her that just 9 months ago they had allowed me to give a final count for pizza and she looked at me as if she didn't believe me. In addition, be very careful with the count on the kids. They said I had 27 children and would have charged me the additional $20 per child. I insisted that I didn't have 27 kids RSVP, and the same front desk person kept pushing back. I had to stand at the front door and count each child with the other assistant - who also had a bad attitude - as they left at the en, and it turns out that it was 24. The other attendees were warm and helpful and again, our first experience was great, but today we had managers who did not cooperate and clearly did not want to be there. The venue failed to give us information ahead of time. While this a great venue for a very large group, you want to be in a place that is happy to have you there. I also would recommend that the 1.5 hours is VERY tight for little ones to have pizza and cake and also get drinks and take bathroom breaks. I would recommend that if you are having a party, pick the last slot (5 - 6:30 pm slot) and extend it by 30 minutes , which is an extra $80 - but totally worth it so you and your littles ones are not rushed. TO THE VENUE: YOUR FRONT DESK ATTENDEE FOR PARTIES NEEDS TO BE CHANGED AND YOU NEED TO CLEARLY COMMUNICATE PARAMETERS/DEADLINES (i,e. pizza orders, etc.) read more
