Dynamic Body Pilates has been a game-changer for me. I've been training at DBP for just over a year, and it's made a profound difference in my life. I came in somewhat skeptical--I'd been dealing with chronic back pain since college (I'm in my mid-40s now), and things had worsened in recent years with disc degeneration and pinched nerves. My bodywork specialist recommended Pilates for core stability and rehab, but I was hesitant. As a former college tennis player, I wrongly assumed Pilates wasn't for me. I tried several group classes at different studios, but the lack of individual attention left me frustrated and feeling like I wasn't getting what I needed. That changed when I found Dynamic Body Pilates. The one-on-one instruction and fully personalized approach is what sets this studio apart. Rebecca, the owner, carefully evaluated my condition and matched me with Luis, who has been incredible. Over the past year, I've become significantly stronger, improved my flexibility beyond what I thought possible, and--most importantly--I feel better after every session. I leave not just with relief, but with tools I can use in my daily life to keep feeling good. If you're dealing with chronic pain or just want a smarter, more personalized approach to movement and strength, I can't recommend DBP highly enough. read more

I have just finished a year working with Maria. As a woman in my 60's, I can not stress enough the positive aspects of Pilates. We have been working on my posture, balance, core and total body strengthening. I feel stronger, my balance and posture have improved. I look forward to continuing my journey with Pilates. Maria has been wonderful, has taught me many things, is patient and understanding. The facility is nice and clean. Staff is supportive , kind and friendly. read more

Thanks to Dynamic Body Pilates I was finally able to reduce the sciatic pain that I've had for over 20 years! Sure wish they were here back then. This is not "regular" Pilates or physical therapy. It's more akin to a deep medical view on how your body operates. If you have not been helped by any other therapy, I strongly recommend you try this. They are real professionals, who are especially adept at listening and teaching. Thank you DBP! read more

When I came to Rebecca I was unable to work as a nurse, go out to eat (restaurant chairs-ouch), or really function due to severe back pain and scoliosis. I had done PT for MONTHS, which made things worse instead of better. I even saw 2 of the 'best' PTs in the city who were referred to me by my concierge doctor. When I came to Rebecca, I was anxious and desperate-but she was patient and responsive to what caused pain. Through trial and error, she helped me find the few exercises that could help strengthen my body and we began with those. Slowly I progressed, and the pain dissipated. I couldn't believe it! Instead of generic exercises prescribed by PT (bird dogs-you can't do a bird dog correctly without core strength!!!!), she helped build my body up from feet to pelvis to core to shoulders to head! Fast forward 2 months and I cannot believe what we have accomplished. I'm so strong and have developed routines I can do independently, which she encourages. I'm doing things I've never been able to do! Not to mention there's a great side effect of looking physically fit too. I don't know what I would've done without Rebecca. Long story short, Pilates with Rebecca is the answer. Good luck to all the other back pain sufferers out there-you CAN get better! read more

I can't think of a single type of person who WOULDN'T benefit from a consultation with Dynamic Body Pilates. My practitioner has been studying movement her entire life and it shows. Her understanding of the human body, married with her ability to quickly and accurately assess each individual's needs and then communicate that in a way that resonates - is really remarkable. There are countless Pilates instructors out there, but few that possess the depth of knowledge and communication skills that the team at DBP has. I initially came to DBP seeking out some effective warmup and cool-down exercises for my sports activities. Rather than just giving me a some quick exercises, they took time to do a holistic diagnostic and address more underlying issues that have lead to some chronic pain over the years. Based on my experience working with DBP and reading the reviews here - you're always going to walk away from each interaction with a much greater understanding of your own body than you could've hoped for. And that is the real magic of DBP! read more

I started several years ago at Dynamic Body Pilates seeking help for low back pain primarily and I also wanted to run for fitness but couldn't. Well, now I can run. Currently I work with Sarah, and look forward to her calming guidance in my weekly sessions in the studio. The sessions are designed specifically for me. When I leave the studio, I feel great. During the week, my self-practice is informed by what I've learned in the studio. It works! read more

My Physical Therapist referred me to DBP. I have a back issue which sometimes flares and impacts my daily routine. I started working with Emma several months ago. Exercise makes a world of difference! Pilates exercise is perfect because it is very adaptable and Emma knows exactly what to do to make it work for me. Through her, I have learned much about my body and movement. The sessions have helped me strengthen my core, increased my energy and provided me with coping strategies. Additionally, exercising here is fun! The studio is pristine and inviting. When a scheduling conflict demands it, I have worked with some of the other staff. They are all professional and knowledgeable. read more

I was encouraged to try Pilates to help with longstanding core, leg and lower back issues. PT and gym training had helped but my sessions at Dynamic Body Pilates have been a revelation. One on one classes in a calm and spacious setting, intense yet gentle focus on problem areas, and kind and expert instruction. It's truly been a 5 star experience, with special gratitude to Emma, my very patient and skillful instructor! Pilates at DBP is fun and it works!! read more

There aren't enough good things to say about the incredible team at Dynamic Body! This is a fantastic Pilates studio and I've been to many over the years! The instructors are extremely qualified and attentive, especially for someone like me who has longstanding back and shoulder issues. I have really gotten stronger and more flexible and less prone to injury since coming here over the past 4+ years. Additionally, the studio is clean and quiet and very well designed. This place changed my life. Rebecca, the owner, really listened to me during my initial intake session. I've been going here since late June 2021 and I've been going ever since. Not only are they flexible with my travel schedule, all the instructors here are so kind and experts at their craft (Nicole, Maria, and Marisa). I finally have core strength and a workout I look forward to going to. I can't hype this place up enough. read more

I recently completed my 10 session (+ progress assessment) with owner Rebecca Lubart, and the experience was life-changing. The private sessions at DBP are so special because they are tailored so precisely to your individual needs and goals. I was so fortunate to work with Rebecca--she's so experienced and has such a natural gift for her work--she notices every, single, detail...it's quite astonishing. Even in a loose-fitting shirt, she would catch every minute adjustment...how I could melt my chest more, how my core needed to engage more...those eyes saw everything (sometimes I wished they didn't lol). She'd adjust my right foot ever so slightly, making sure I was in actual alignment and doing the exercises absolutely correctly. Rebecca not only gave me the foundation I was looking for to reach my goal (of becoming a better inline skater), but she helped me understand why I had been pulling my muscle at the skatepark (which prompted my seeking her services to begin with). Rebecca provides such a holistic approach to her practice and she does it with such professionalism, enthusiasm and joy for her craft. When I got something right, she'd burst out with a "yes!!!" and I knew it was genuine and that I'd really mastered the move. I could go on and on...and I already have...but I'll end by saying that I highly recommend Dynamic Body Pilates, and Rebecca Lubart specifically, if you are serious about understanding your body and figuring out how it can work better and feel better, no matter your level of fitness or what you're trying to achieve. read more

This place is GREAT! If you want a great workout, positive environment, & energy & focus, go here! I love it. Evan is super. Rebecca, the owner, is awesome. Do yourself a favor and go here. read more

Having never done Pilates, finding Dynamic Body Pilates was the perfect entry into it. I googled something like Pilates for F'up bodies near me, and they popped up! I consider myself incredibly lucky to have found them. I have worked with a few different practitioners, and they are so responsive to different issues you may have and then very adeptly work around them. They pay attention to every little movement, no matter what body part you are working on, in a way I had never expected. Rebecca and Maria have been exceptionally engaged in my work with their team, going above and beyond my expectations. The studio is spotless, and the equipment is perfect. I can not say enough good things. read more

I find the Dynamic Body Pilates to be very healing. The facility is clean, cool, and calming. After 4 months, my posture has been amazingly altered for the better (fixed my rounded shoulders), my muscles strengthened, and my spirits lifted. The technicians are gentle, kind and supportive. Pilates was recommended by my doctor following a sports neck injury. The one on one classes are essential. I highly recommend this studio. read more

I hurt myself very badly before seeking Rebecca's help. My injury was a culmination of years of different pains and imbalances I'd been tolerating--and then one day I simply stood up and everything changed. I was in agony, and could barely get myself across the room. in hindsight, I would've started seeing Rebecca sooner. Working with Rebecca and the DBP group got me moving again, and guided my body to heal itself. Rebecca's knowledge is uncanny--her seemingly minuscule adjustments bring strength where you didn't know you had any, and alleviate stress you didn't know was there. I had avoided exercise my whole life--always out of shape, and afraid anything I tried would be "too much". The DBP experience just plain ISN'T THAT. It's personal and respectful and you become aware of how to move in ways that have you feel great and make you less vulnerable, all while becoming more flexible and strong. read more

Highly recommend this studio! This was my first time taking private pilates lessons, and I had been nervous to use the reformer since I injured myself 10 years ago in a group class. Rebecca was very thoughtful and understanding of my concerns. She matched me with a terrific instructor, and Elizabeth was amazing at helping me to build strength and confidence. I'm a pilates convert! read more

Rebecca really has a special gift. She told me to come over and we would have some fun and honestly... I didn't REALLY fully believe her. And yet- there we were having fun- there were lots of neat props to play with. It was such an accepting, non-judgmental environment that I felt I could stop worrying about my own insecurities of being a beginner and just enjoy the process. I learned so much and left feeling so much better about myself- and my body. And that's something we can all use more of- I can't recommend her highly enough! Thank you, sweet Rebecca! read more

I'd never been able to enjoy exercise before encountering the team here. They tailor the program to your concerns and push you just enough that the challenge is fun, not scary. Shoutout to Cami (Cameran) for being the best motivator and Noel for patiently explaining the movements. My work from home twinges feel much better after these sessions. read more

I'd highly recommend DBP! My everyday routine causes me several physical problems like back, neck and shoulders pain. At DBP, Rebecca and her practitioners teach me how to fix the problems in an uncomplicated way. They give me small homework that I can do at home without any special machine. I learn how to move my body in a better way to adjust my body back to normal after it was damaged by my routine activities. I don't think that exercise should be hard and painful. It should be fun and safe which is what DBP makes me feel. I'm glad that I found this place!! read more

This was my first time doing pilates and my instructor Rebecca Lubart made me feel very comfortable from the moment i walked in. The space was neat and inviting, the exercises we did to align my back were great and she provided insight along the way on my body and at home exercises to continue our work. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Rebecca at Dynamic Body Pilates is top notch. From her first assessment to the final assesment - and in between those sessions - she is available for questions and delivers great answers! The sessions are delvelped specifically to each persons needs and wants. They pay close attention to form and function with care and expertise. Having a dance background it is important to honor the body and I feel that Dynamic Body Pilates does just that. I've worked with Kay, Dana, Karan and Rebecca. They all spent time getting to the root of my problem areas to strengthen and correct poor movement patters and habits that had formed due to an old injury. If you have the will, they have the way. Highly recommend this place to work through issues, especially issues that physical therapy couldn't fix!!! read more

I suffer from lower back disc herniation and my experience with Dynamic Pilates helped reverse ten years of bad posture and pain. I worked with Rita and Elizabeth who were fantastic. It was a bit of a splurge for me, but well worth the investment as my movement is much improved. Highly recommend! read more

The past few years I was dealing with general aches, pains and stiffness that I chalked up to getting older. When my hip started to bother me, I knew I had to do something. That was 9 mths ago - and I only wish I found DBP sooner. I've never felt better. I'm not a gym fan and have struggled to stick with training routines in the past - but the environment here is welcoming and the results are motivational. Caitlin Javech is fantastic - she explains exercises and movements in a way that even I, someone that's never been active and has no body awareness, can understand. I can't recommend DBP enough! read more

I've been experiencing knee and hip pain for sometime now. Rebecca worked with me to help me understand how everything is tied together in the body and how to improve my posture, alignment, etc... she is very knowledgeable! Highly recommend read more

Dynamic Pilates really changed my life. After years of physical therapy failed to address the pain in my hips, SI joint, and lower back, I found my way here. I did two 10-week sessions with Rita - - more costly than working with one of their regular trainers and well worth every penny. Rita is warm, observant, detail-oriented, and versatile. She started me with the smallest motions, and as I grew stronger and understood my body better, the training and homework grew more complex. After the first 10 weeks I felt better than I had in years, and by the end of the second session, my pain was gone. I'd learned learn how to identify my trouble spots, isolate what was causing the problems, and do what exercise was needed to ameliorate any discomfort when it flares up. Rita also helped me prepare for group pilates classes when I felt ready to start transitioning in that direction. I"m not sure if the studio is open in our post-COVID era, but it was already designed in a way that respects what we've come to call social distancing. The space only allows two clients and their trainers to work out at a time, and often it was only me and Rita, with perhaps one person in a separate office nook, and the next client changing behind a private curtain or waiting behind a closed door in a small separate entry area/coat-and-shoe room. They already had a practice of cleaning everything we touched when we finished with any piece of equipment. It's also worth noting that when I was first researching which pilates studio to choose, Rebecca personally responded to my inquiry and was incredibly helpful. Though we didn't meet in person until after my sessions with Rita had begun, she knew exactly who I was and what my progress was. Dynamic Pilates really is a top-notch boutique studio, and I'd place myself in their hand again without hesitation. read more

I started to see Rebecca about six months ago. I was suffering with chronic neck pain and having a lot of trouble sitting at the office or even carrying a bag. Rebecca is helping me to break down my bad habits and create new ones! I have already seen great improvements working with her. After just six months, I can go weeks sitting at a computer without pain. Rebecca is meticulous and committed to making her clients' recovery! (Most importantly she is a lot of fun). I read more

Cannot recommend Rebecca's studio and Pareena enough! They changed my life. I'm 26 and have been experiencing chronic back, hip and neck pain for 2 years, all exacerbated by the pandemic and bad posture. When I went in for my evaluation, Rebecca took the time to learn about my pain and talk to me about a plan for rehabilitation. Pareena, my instructor, took those notes and transformed them into dynamic movements and recommendations for small, but powerful changes to my posture, breathing and overall lifestyle. After 2.5 months with Dynamic Body Pilates, I am well on the road to recovery and feeling stronger than ever. I'm a Pilates convert because of Rebecca and Pareena. May sound like a cliche, but I feel happier and healthier than I have in a long time. Thank you Rebecca, Pareena and Dynamic Body Pilates for everything! read more

When I started with DBP I was in a lot of pain. I had been a serious dancer for a long time and really hurt myself, and had not felt comfortable moving much in the last few years because of the pain. I have tried acupuncture, chiropractors, physical therapists, and none of them helped long term all. The work I did with Rebecca and her staff helped a ton, both with the pain and with my awareness on how I hold and use my body. They gave me the tools to start correcting my movements on a daily basis so that now I have significantly less pain and am completely aware of the habits I need to break to get completely pain free. The staff was knowledgable and really friendly and supportive. Highly recommended! read more

I came across Rebecca 7 weeks out of ACL reconstructive surgery when I was desperate to fill the hole that yoga used to fill for me pre-injury. Consistent physical therapy was indeed helpful and productive for me, but I was missing an activity that promotes a deep awareness and mind-body connection. While traditional physical therapy was great for strengthening my post-op knee, I really needed a way to get out of the inefficient and harmful compensation patterns I had developed to accomodate my injury to prevent future injuries. After meeting Rebecca at our first consultation, I felt an immediate sense of relief - that I was in the hands of someone who was not only highly skilled and knowledgeable about movement and rehabilitation, but really understood my fears surrounding it. In the six months we've been working together three times a week, I have seen monumental improvements in my balance, strength, and coordination of not just the post-op knee, but my entire body. I saw and felt myself getting stronger, building tone, getting back my pre-injury flexibility and self-esteem, and finding the courage to take on bigger physical and emotional challenges as a result. I also have developed a keen awareness of my body and its movement, and how to self-correct with knowledge. Being a dancer and athletic person, Rebecca has been studying human movement and the body for much of her life. She has an AMAZING natural gift of intuition of the mind and body, and without fail always knows when to challenge me, when to slow me down, and what would be most beneficial and effective for me at each session. Her teaching is very much based on achieving a sense of grounded balance and harmony with movement and body awareness. She has given me so much support when I felt frustrated and vulnerable about my performance and progress, and even prepped me with routines to do while traveling. She is a thoughtful, intuitive, and generous expert to whom I am forever grateful. read more

I've done pilates for many years and after moving, I was in search of a studio and most importantly a good instructor. After trying several instructors, I finally settled with Rebecca who was warm and friendly and one of the most knowledgeable instructors I've encountered. Rebecca has now been my pilates instructor for several years. She helps my body regain and maintain strengh and balance every week after sitting in an office chair at work. She knows everything about the body and I've never had a problem that she wasn't able to solve. She has helped me eliminate my lower back pain and she has helped me with my thigh injury that had made it painful for me to walk. At the end of each session she gives me pointers on my posture and form and suggestions of exercises I can do daily on my own to strengthen my core. I see her every week and I always feel stronger when I leave our sessions. I highly recommend her. read more

If I could give Dynamic Body Pilates 10/5 stars I would. I highly recommend these women. They are very articulate, professional, I was given clear instructions, extremely attentive, super supportive and the list goes on. This was my first time ever taking a pilates course. I saw a TikTok video on the benefits of doing pilates which peaked my interest. Thus began my search for a Pilates studio. And although I came to work out, every time spent here felt like a piece of heaven. This honestly was a great introduction into Pilates. After my time here I'm now a pilates fanatic. I saw results immediately. My body began to feel so much better. Prior to coming to DBP I never stretched nor really exercised much. The girls were attentive to my needs (I have scoliosis). Rebecca conducted a thorough analysis upon signing up before I began classes. Honestly if you sign up, you won't regret it. Thank you girls for an amazing summer. If I could repeat it over again I wouldn't take back a moment I spent in DBP. Blessings. read more

I have tried many Pilates studios in Manhattan, but DBP has been the best. Rebecca has hired many high quality instructors, who all take the time to learn about your needs, weaknesses, and goals. Highly, highly, highly recommend this place! I was referred by a friend of mine and I am so happy I made the time! Great location, clean sunny studio, wonderful people! I had leg surgery and from all the bed rest I was experiencing back problems, my body was slouchy and achy, my posture was terrible. I loved my first ten sessions so much that I bought another ten! After 20 sessions with so many great instructors I felt like myself again. I became aware of my body and things it needed. I learned to listen to hints my own body was giving me. Each instructor was so knowledgeable that I learned something new each session. It was just a fantastic experience! Treat yourself to a few sessions- you're worth it and you will love it! read more

Amazing studio. They work with you to thoroughly address your source of pain, and correct any movement issues that might be causing the pain.
