I love DYK! So glad there is a courier service in Alberta that offers carrying your packages to USA. Shipping with USPS is away more reliable, affordable and quicker than Canada Post. Rates are very reasonable and staff is friendly at DYK. Daniel is super nice, knowledgeable and always goes above and beyond to help you or answer any of your questions. Thanks guys!! read more

DYK started out just okay; Their customer service was always hit and miss and communication, when a problem arose, was pretty pathetic. Fast forward to today, in the era of Trump tariffs and the end of De Minimis. You might as well throw your shipments into a dumpster - they will have as much likelihood of reaching their destination as handing them off to DYK would do. There are several other cross border services like Chit Chats, Stallion, etc. That all offer far better service than DYK. DYK may be a bit cheaper, but if your shipments don't arrive to your customers, what is the point of saving a couple of dollars? read more

Everything. Zero communication and if they did it was dishonest. Lost $$$. Zero compensation for their mistakes. It was damaging to my little business just using them. Horrible experience all around recently. read more

False advertisement that they will clear your goods on time when you purchase in USA and ship to your address in Montana. My parcels are still in Sweetgrass since November 2023 despite sending Manifest to bring them to Calgary. DYKPOST even suggested I look for my own broker to clear the goods read more

My item arrived broken. i was told to send pictures to management and they would address the issue. 3v months later I still haven't heard back from them. So I am out the cost of the item. Terrible service with no accountability. Not worth the risk. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

One of the worse customer service experiences I've had. I had contacted them about a package that was missing and no one got back to be. Two weeks later I tried emailing again, finally someone answered. I had to pay for shipping twice on that package as it was too long past the refund period for my original shipping label. Also, if you get a "return to sender" because of a wrong address or a customer return from the US, it costs $25 to get it back across the border to you, even for a tiny package that weighs less than an ounce. I can't afford to be paying that or charge my customers that outrageous amount. I'm going back to Chit Chats, much better customer service and it's only $7 to return a package across the border. read more

RUN AWAY!! If I could give this a negative stars I would. Nothing but trouble from the first interaction. Lost packages, delays, incompetance - followed by lies, rude staff and "mansplaining". I have never dealt with a group like this - ever. I hope I never do again. Do yourself a favour and use another company. Any other company. read more

I'm not a commercial user. I use the YK to receive items that I purchase online and I have those items sent to my address at Montana Mailbox. Until I kind of got the hang of it there were some difficulties but now it is fairly straightforward. When I receive notifications of items received, I emailed DYK who then picks up the items and I pick them up at the Marborough location. it ends up being about $10 each per item, which is the fee from Montana Mailbox, the customs brokerage fee, and the DYK. All of the items are from the same vendor so there is only one $15 brokerage charge. Dropping off items to send to US recipients is also very easy. I bring the item fully packed with the US shipping label to DYK Marlboro. It costs one dollar, yes one dollar, for DYK to throw it in their van and drive it down across the border and to the US post office. It is so much easier to sell items to a US market since it is 10 times bigger... There are definitely language issues as most of the staff at DYK do not seem to have English as their first language. However, all in all I would recommend them just figure out the process and have some patience. read more

Run by "New Canadians", more mixed up then a feather in a windstorm. Took 2 weeks to get parcel from Montana to Calgary. They sent it to the wrong location and didn't tell me it was there. Did not return voicemail. Did not respond to email. Eventually after repeated calls they finally sent me an invoice. That's how you are supposed to know it has arrived, then it took 15 minutes to find it. I was probably under a bunch of stuff and sitting there for a week + Not worth the headache to save a few bucks.(very few) read more

i first used DYK Post a few years ago and their customer service was top notch. They did runs to the border twice a week. Their systems were quick and efficient. Fast forward and the company has gone down hill significantly. What should take just a couple days now takes a couple weeks. Good luck getting answers to questions. They just get ignored and when you finally get frustrated they turn around and blame the customer. I don't recommend them at all and won't be using them again. read more

Simply brilliant. We were struggling to ship items profitably with Canada Post. DYK was a God send. Friendly, helpful, patient staff. If you ship to anywhere from Canada you need DYK. read more

We have been a customer for over 6 years. In 2021 DYK brought over 52 packages from Montana to Canada without our request. They improperly shipped them across the border without true customs declarations to the Canada Border Services. Whether knowingly or without due diligence, both are unacceptable not just to clients, but also to legislation. They then stuck us with a bill of $1764.30 which we refused to pay since we never instructed them to bring these packages over the border. We continued to do business with them as they came to our warehouse every day to transport our e-commerce business packages from Edmonton to Sweet Grass. I thought the owner realized his mistake and dismissed this invoice as we were a committed weekly customer giving them business. In Aug 2023 the company threatened us with collections for this unauthorized work from 2021. Aug 25-Aug 29th 2023,they actively came to our warehouse to collect packages. We noticed after a few days the packages were not moving and we found out without any formal professional notice they were holding our packages. The fact that your team knew that our account is on hold, and then proceeded to pick up new packages with no mention to our team whatsoever on pick up feels incredibly unprofessional and calculated. I do not believe it to be sound for DYK or any company to pick up more packages for an account on hold.. These packages have a value of over $6929.99 It's now January 1st, 2024 and we still have not received our packages. As a business owner, I'm reluctant to write reviews but in this case, we just want the owner to return our improperly held packages. read more

**BEWARE** Be very wary of using Montana Mailbox and DYK Post. I hate to have to leave this here but they won't respond to my emails so I'm left with no choice. It was a very helpful and efficient service at first but the last several months things have really taken a turn. Possibly COVID related but you need to exercise incredibly caution using this service as there is no accountability and no recourse for lost of missing packages. Montana Mailbox lost a package that was confirmed delivered to their location by UPS. I was met with outright indifference when inquiring into the status, was even told "I'm not going to look for it, our package volume is to high". There is nobody to get in contact with for help, there is no chain of command. The package was valued at $500 CAD and I have been left without recourse. I believe that they are able to operate this way because many importers are within Canada and have no recourse in the USA (fortunately we have dual citizenship so we are seeking legal advice). I have filed a claim with UPS, but it's incredibly disappointment to see how little they value customers. DYK which is their parent company in Canada also ignored multiple emails inquiring into the whereabouts of my package. If you're going to use them you need to be aware what will happen if something goes wrong. You will be on your own and forced to seek out legal recourse which is where I am at now. I would look elsewhere for this type of service. read more

So a couple things here. 1 . They charge you in USA currency then convert it to Canadian funds and the rate they use is EXCESSIVE . I paid $3.18 USA $ and was charged $ 4,74 canadian . Then they add the $1.00 fee which I was aware of. For them advertising saving up to 74 % is very misleading . 2. On the DYK website they show 310 grams shipped from Canada to USA is $17.68 when you can actually ship that parcel for $7.90 Canadian funds although it will take 10 days to arrive. 3. Regular parcel to ship from CANADA to USA at regular post office is probably 50 % cheaper than shipping within our own country. I get it we have lots of land and no people so freight costs are more. OVERALL DYK is ok for most items under 1 pound and I use them every week but for some parcels that do not require 5 day delivery service I use regular canada post to usa. read more

Don't waste your money here. Company doesn't take any responsibility in lost packages and clearly doesn't care about customer service. Getting a hold of anyone to do anything is also impossible. read more

I have a friend who uses this service frequently and they have never had any issues. I needed to send a package to the USA with highly valued (not to mention) heavy goods inside. I was a little worried at first that my package would get there but I had a tracking# the entire time. My package was delivered in a timely manner and in tact. I saved a LOT of money using DYK post. I live in Edmonton and at the time they did not have an office just a van for pickups/drop-offs.. but now that there is an office it is a lot more convenient to drop off parcels. I would definitely suggest using this service to anyone. I trust it 100%. I know I sent only 1 package so far but my friend owns a small business and sends packages continuously and has never had an issue. You do however need to know their delivery schedule. read more

I have been a customer of DYK Post since early 2014, back when the drop off was in Cochrane. Now, they are located conveniently a few minutes from Deerfoot and McKnight. Their service has without question, changed my ecommerce business model for the better. I have shipped a few thousand packages thru them over the last two years and their service has given me access to the US and Global Market at affordable rates. Most products I ship are under a pound, and roughly $3 USD to ship a tracked parcel at this weight anywhere in the US in 3 days. DYK Post charges a meagre $1 plus tax to bring my package by courier to the USA. At less than $5 shipping to the US, there are now a lot less abandoned shopping carts. Daniel, Idy and the rest of the staff have been helpful, patient and always cooperative through my learning curve on shipping in this manner. Now that we have the swing of it, it is all smiles for us! read more

This was my first experience with DYK post. They were very responsive to any questions I had, responding promptly by email, and actually made an effort to pick up my package a day early. Fair and transparent pricing, and great service. read more

I used their services to send packages to the US which was fine and dandy. However, using them as a courier to ship INTO Canada is the worst. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! They use Montana Mailbox who loses packages. They lost one of mine and told ME to call around to different companies to try and "find it", then when that failed they wont respond to any emails! Absolutely the worst. I've had 3 packages sent to them from a US retailer and only 2 arrived. Said whatever, 2 is better than none (still mad) asked them to go pick up the packages from their warehouse in the US, they go, get them, send an email with an invoice telling me it's ready to be picked up here in Edmonton, and what do you know? The 2 packages aren't there!!! Holy cheese and crackers. The Calgary Accounting department shouldn't send out invoices saying packages are ready to be picked up when they're not! The kind lady at the front desk told me that if they sent the invoice after 5pm then it wouldn't get sent out until the next business day or 2. Drove 30 minutes to be told that it's not even in the city! Let alone ready to be picked up!!! Save yourself the headache and DONT use anything that is even remotely related with this company. read more

I've saved a lot on postage and been able to grow my business in the US because of DYK post but there have been a couple of times that the packages didn't get put in the mail on the other side of the border for DAYS and of course these are on my rush shipments. This has cost me $100's in having to refund my customers. So guess the good with the bad but I would probably use a different company if there was one. read more

I have been a long term customer of DYK post. After experiencing countless issues such as no room on trucks for my boxes after being told there was, being forced to wait for drivers for 6+ hours, and now missing packages they never delivered to USPS, they have finally lost my business for good. Although the website promises insurance on every package they have, they lost 2 packages in the same group with little to no concern, costing me a significant amount of money to repair my customer relationships. There has been no attempt or offer by DYK to provide this "insurance" that they promise after weeks of dealing with this issue. This company repeatedly fails to accept any accountability for their mistakes and continually attempts to place blame on customers, Canada Post and anyone else they possibly can, including their drivers and employees instead of management. If I ever treated my customers in this manner, I would have been out of business years ago! Thank goodness an alternative has finally opened up with amazing Canada Post rates as well so I can finally escape the nightmare of dealing with Daniel and being treated like a second class citizen and a liar so he can attempt to cover their absolute ineptitude. Avoid them at all costs! They are a disorganized disaster who will only cost you money in the end. read more

***BEWARE***WARNING***I feel bad writing such a negative review but I had such a horrible experience with DKY Post. I shipped a parcel to the US and the parcel was rejected by customs (I should have put a phone number in the package but customs told me another red flag was DKY for some reason put Korea as the final destination, which I think was just a mistake, but nonetheless a red flag.) I called customs to track it down and they said to contact DYK about it (customs was fantastic at helping, btw). I finally, after several emails and phone calls and over a week of worrying where my almost $800 package was (full of Christmas presents), was told by DKY Post that they had it but couldn't believe me that customs would now send it through (I cleared up the misunderstanding with customs earlier). I just wanted to receive my package, why would I lie about that? I finally gave up, and had someone pick the package up from DKY so I could actually get the package. DKY Post wouldn't refund me the portion that they charged for FedEx (which FedEx would not have charged them since it never went through FedEx's system). I didn't expect their fees back, but the $40 FedEx charge I think I should have been refunded since they never had to pay it. The part that irritates me the most though was the rudeness and condescending way that Daniel (the manager, maybe owner?) treated me. He was so rude, blamed me and customs for his inadequacies, and could care less about my valuable package that was in their hands. I'm sorry, but find a different way, pay more if you have to. I'd avoid this company at all costs, and I love saving money. If ANYTHING goes wrong, they're a nightmare to deal with. read more

Everything is good EXCEPT their customer service is terrible when it comes to any issues with your package (Calgary Branches, especially NE one). You go drop off a package, ask questions about service and pricing, they are amazing. But if you have issues with your shipment, their answer is "We're not USPS, you have to contact them." "We're not Fedex, you have to contact them". DOESN'T matter how many times you try to explain the issue or try to make them understand, never willing to listen to the customer and comes back with the SAME answer every single time, "we're not USPS/Fedex, we only charge $1". Charge me more if you have to man but what type of service is this? From Calgary to Montana, until the package gets to USPS, isn't it DYK Post's responsibility to help their customer figure out where the package is? Until it's scanned by USPS, how would I as a customer know that DYK Post has successfully delivered the package to USPS? Them charging only $1/package SHOULD NEVER be an explanation for an issue like this. I'm willing to pay more if needed (probably same with majority of customers), just provide the service you're supposed to INCLUDING customer service, which DYK Post surely don't know the meaning of. UNFORTUNATELY, I have NO CHOICE other than to use them. I would switch to Chit Chats but they don't accept pre-paid shipping labels and the platform I sell on, I need to be able to use the pre-paid labels. I'm stuck not having any secondary option, but that DOESN't Mean that as customer I will accept unfair things. I will use their service as I have no other choice and because I'm paying for it. Not getting free service ...... read more

Everything is smooth sailing with these guys except for unreasonable brokerage and duty rates when you have something shipped in from the USA. I don't recommend having your parcels drop shipped at the border for them to bring back into Canada unless you have no other choice. My item was made in Mexico and they figured that duty and brokerage should cost me over $20 for $70 Canadian valued item. So much for the nafta agreement. read more

too bad i cannot give zero star. words can't describe how frustrated it was for me to deal with this company. i received an email from them that my parcel is ready for pickup at my requested location over 2 weeks ago, but since i have more parcels on the way, i would wait for the other parcels to get there so i can pick them up all together. when i arrived, they are missing my first parcel, and advised me that it was still at their head office. the lady at the counter was kind enough to let the head office know and assure me that i can come back in a couple of days and pick it up. i didn't have time to pick it up until a week after. their phone line at the new horizon mall never works, any inquiries i had to call the head office. so i called the head office to make sure the parcel is ready, they have the nerve to remind me that it should be ready when i received the email, no need for me to phone them. great customer service. and to make things worse, it is still at the head office! the manager is impossible to find, never pick up the phone and there is no voicemail. at this time, i just gave up and finally picked up my parcel today. i did not receive any apologies or compensation for this non-sense. take my advice, only use this company as your absolute last resort to get parcel ship from them. read more

Do not believe DYK website claims. They charged me over 200 cdn to ship $350 US worth of clothing 150 miles, single US vendor total weight less than 10 lb. All my items are duty exempt according to DYKs own links to CRA duties and tarrif website. I thought that was clear but if you do not provide DYK the manufacturer customs filings (nobody provides these for stuff sold in US and i never need them to bring items back into Canada myself) DYK charge up the maximum duty possible and it is unclear how they come up with it or if they pay it. You still pay DYK brokerage on every separate package. They charged13 separate charges including brokerage, 26% undocumented duties, taxes and then taxes on all their charges, fuel surcharges etc. Etc. They would not give a rough estimate of cost beforehand - "check our website" - you get an invoice only days after they have your stuff already in their possession. They will not provide a receipt from border guys of any duties they allegedly paid on my behalf. I understand GST and shipping and even brokerage are legitimate costs if they are transparent. DYK$1 shipping fees are obviously not realistic. it's the bait. Invented duties and $60 brokerage for a single form are where the money is. The postal services broker package mail free.
