I'm going to try and be as fair as I can with this review.
My 14 year old son wears a size 12-13 extra wide shoe. He's not a fan of athletic shoes, he prefers "skater" style shoes, such as Vans. This makes it very difficult to find shoes for him at places such as Shoe Carnival, etc..
We called DXL and asked about their sizes and selection, we were assured that we would find something he would like. We drove from South Moore to this location in central NW Okc. When we arrived, we headed straight for the shoe area. There were maybe 10 different styles of casual shoes, luckily my son liked all but two. Now for the issues.
When we finally found an associate to help, we had to pull her away from her flirting fest with a customer. Then when she actually went into the back to get a specific size shoe, she came back and said they evidently don't carry that style anymore because she can't find them. This happened several times with different shoes for several different reasons. SHE COULDNT FIND ANYTHING! But she had no issues finding the guy to flirt with again. Another family left during this time because no one helped them also. Sooo... As a last ditch effort, my wife found the manager on duty which happened to be the actual store manager, and the person we talked to on the phone. I was ready to simply walk out being very pissed by this point. I'm one of those strange people that believe costumers should be at least treated like their business is appreciated, and you actually want their money. But, now to the good part.
The store manager appreciated the fact that we drove 15 miles to her store, and actually seemed to appreciate us telling her about the dating service that was apparently happening in her store... on the clock. She immediately went with us to the shore area and ACTUALLY FOUND THE STYLE AND SIZE of shoe that my son wanted. Hm... Either they just appeared, or ghetto sales woman simply wanted to get back and flirt with her personal customer and didn't really look to begin with. ONLY because of the GM, we bought the shoes.
The good: The manager.
The bad: Selection wasn't that awesome, but it's mainly a clothing store. Shoes are an accessory item there, so it is what it is.
The ugly: Customers walking because of lack of service. Sales associates ignoring actual customers so they can make time with prospective hook ups.
Overall, we probably won't be back. But I hope the GM is able to replace the current crew since they pretty much suck and are the cause of the current problems. If I could rate just the GM, I'd give 5 stars. Today's experience would be very generous at 1 star. I'll split the difference and give the benefit of the doubt at 3. read more
