I've been a patient of Dr. Schroeder for 30 years! He listens and takes my opinions into my health. No one is better!

Dr. Schroeder is everything you could ask for in a psychiatrist. He spends the time to get to know each patient, and you can tell he genuinely wants to help you get better. He doesn't just throw a prescription at you and say "See you in a couple months", but helps you work out a plan for how to get better. I can tell that when he changes medication, like adding something new or upping the dose, it's not because some salesman brought him a nice dinner. He won't give a prescription unless he really believes that it's for the best, and you can see that when he thinks about how to proceed. I know a lot of people have to go from doctor to doctor finding one that they "click" with, which just adds to the stress. I feel very lucky that I can truthfully say that I look forward to seeing Dr. Schroeder every month or two, which probably isn't something many people can say about their psychiatrist. Yes, sometimes he's a little bit behind, but that's something to be expected. I don't know how psychiatrists schedule their days, but I'd imagine they have slots between prescheduled patients for emergencies. In all honesty, if someone feels they need an emergency appointment with their psychiatrist, they often should be the priority. Dr. Schroeder has changed, and quite possibly saved, my life. I would recommend him to absolutely anybody who is deciding to reach out for help with mental health. read more

He deserves more than 5 stars. He continues to somehow bring me back down to earth during each of our appointments. He has given me hope when I've felt the utter concept itself to be null and void. He is a truly compassionate helper. I admire his patience, insight, and kindness. He has a sharp sense of humor and heart of gold. As both a person and a doctor, I'm overjoyed and giddy with gratitude that I stumbled upon such a wise, marvelous soul. read more

I noticed that my review is missing from 2016, so I am going to repost the review! If there was an option for "be very careful" if you are considering Dr. Schroeder as your Medication Manager, I would have selected that!! My Son went to Dr. Schroeder thinking that he would care about him, pay attention to best practices when treating him, the client. What my Son experienced was Dr. Schroeder taking 15 minutes or less with him each appointment. Dr. Schroeder missed some very important things like making sure that he was considering physical aspects and the importance of having and knowing my Son"s heart rate baseline, due to the medication Dr. Schroeder was prescribing, as well as, my Son's concerns that he voiced to Dr. Schroeder regarding his heart activity. If you think Dr. Schroeder is going to care about you, other than your appointment time, especially if it has to do with your Behavioral Health, you will be very disappointed. Lastly, Dr. Schroeder did not in our experience with him, utilize due diligence to ensure that his patient was being properly taken care of in regards to medication and risks associated with terminating medication abruptly. I would not recommend Dr. Schroeder to anyone that truly needs Behavioral Health Medication Management. I just don't want anyone else to experience what my Son went through! read more
