Hiring one of West and Main Homes real estate agents, a broker associate, Lucia Mears, was one of…read morethe worst nightmares I have ever had. She needs to be completely mentored by a more senior, professional colleague in her office. We had an Exclusive Right to Buy Listing Contract. At first things went well with Lucia sending me listings to review and after I had identified some that seemed to fit my lifestyle, she scheduled showings and we spent about 3 long afternoons viewing them. I made a pick on one of them as my future home however after inspection it was revealed that the home had hidden deferred maintenance on the furnace, air conditioner, locks on doors, etc. It was more than I wanted to manage through even if the sellers paid for and fixed it all. It revealed just how poor maintenance was done by the current, and probably previous owners on the property. The day I asked Lucia to terminate the deal prior to the inspection termination deadline, she sent me the form incorrectly filled out THREE times. I had to tell her how to complete it. Other characteristics of Lucia are: * She acts like a child, constantly needing validation of her worth and value. I felt for every little thing she did I had to say 'please' and 'thank you. * She is manipulative. Often, she would tell me what she thought I should do, acting as if the way I have done things in the past were wrong. As a 67 year old woman who worked in corporate America for 40 plus years with many success stories, I know how to look out for myself. * When she wrote the buy contract, she never talked to me about whether there should be a contingency on the sale of my existing home (which was under contract at the time) nor did I think to ask. When I brought that to her attention after the document was fully executed, she said "Well, do you think your home won't sell?" I told her there is always a risk a home won't sell even if it is under contract. She said she only wrote in a contingency if the prior home was not under contract. * She said things like "...I've taken you to all these places..." and "Broomfield is so far". As a realtor she should know she has to travel to meet her clients' needs. * In conversation with her the day after the inspection report was provided, she went into a stream of consciousness rant about how I'll hurt the sellers if I cancel, that goes against her ethics, etc. Who is she working for, me the buyer or the sellers? * She tried to terminate our buyers' agreement the day of contract termination. The sellers had not yet signed the Earnest Money Release. This after telling me "...I promise you won't lose your earnest money..." when we talked about her neglect in not adding a sale contingency to the purchase agreement. Please do not hire this person, Lucia Mears, to help you with your real estate transaction. She appears to only care about herself and her commission, thinks she is an expert on EVERYTHING and that you are an idiot of you don't agree with her.

This is not a reflection on West + Main as a whole, but specifically on Ryan Pollock. I have worked…read morewith a number of realtors over the years, and this was by far the least professional experience I've had. When interviewing Ryan to work with us on an off-market search, we came up with a plan together. He expressed a strong desire to proactively pursue an off-market deal, and we landed on what was communicated to us as a mutually beneficial deal to have an agreement in place on any and all properties that he brought to us. We stopped talking with any other realtors and considered this an exclusive, mutually beneficial relationship/opportunity. After a month of no updates, I reached out and was assured that he was working on this. After two more months of zero (literally - zero) updates, we reached back out via e-mail and eventually text. A few days later, we finally got a response, letting us know that he has been focused on other work, that we are not his clients, and that we would need to sign an exclusive agreement in order to receive his full attention. Had we known this upfront, we would've simply pursued this game plan with someone else who wanted the work. Ryan's communication with us was both dishonest and unprofessional. Rather than taking responsibility or apologizing for the experience, he blamed our experience on "people not lining up to sell their homes right now." If you decide to work with Ryan, I hope that your experience is better than ours. Unfortunately, we found a lack of effort and honesty from him.

If she…read moredidn't find me the perfect house so fast, I would have had more free time to do things like this! :) In all seriousness, I can't say enough about Deb and her team at Denver Boulder Real Estate. They worked diligently in trying to locate the houses that fit my criteria. I am a first time home buyer and didn't know what I wanted exactly, but that didn't stop Deb from showing me some fantastic places. She listed to my "wish list" and then used her experience and knowledge of Denver to help me look at locations and homes. On our first full day of looking at houses (I believe Deb lined up 12 to look at), I spotted the house I wanted, and with Deb's help, we made and offer and got it! We even closed a week early so that my family could move in earlier. My first tour of houses, first offer on a house, closed on it in 3 weeks, and under the asking price! It was a whirlwind experience, and when I tell people how fast it all happened, they are amazed (from the time I meet Deb to having the house keys in my hands took less than 6 weeks!). This is largely due to the Deb and her team. Even when the Seller's team screwed some minor things up, Deb was on the phone or sending emails immediately to get them corrected. They are awesome! Again, this was my first home purchase, so I really don't have any personal experiences to compare this to, but I'm pretty sure I hit the jackpot when I walked into Denver Boulder Real Estate and found Deb. I have recommended her to several friends already, and I will continue to in the future. When I go to sell, she will be the first person I call. I've said it several times already, but again, Thank you Deb for the wonderful job in finding us the home that we love...and still love! We still haven't had the house warming party/cookout, but it's coming soon with this cool weather. Jules says hi!

We reached out to Craig via a link on a website regarding one of the homes we wanted to tour. From the moment we met, he was down to earth, personable and realistic. He asked us all the right questions to better understand our needs and what we wanted and then gave us the insight on the Denver market. Not too long after, we came across a listing that met all of those needs and within less than 24 hours after it went on the market, Craig closed the sale for us!! We moved in a month later. With both my boyfriend and I working time-intensive jobs, sometimes it was hard for his team to connect with us live but they were always a phone call or email away making sure we had the right paperwork in on the right dates to meet our closing date. They were professional and friendly and just plain nice to work with! Thank you Craig and team, we will go with you for our next home and beyond and happy to recommend you to others.

While the house was my third real estate purchase, it was the first transaction during which I had three dogs, two cats, and someone already living in the house I wanted to buy; to top it all off, this was at the beginning of the school year, and 2/3 of my preps were brand new. I felt like literally everything was out of my control. Michelle handled both transactions (and me!) with grace and professionalism. PorchLight did an awesome job with selling our home. We partnered with Ben Ellefson and Crystal…read moreQuintanilla; both were very quick to respond and always went the extra mile to manage and coordinate our listing. Our family had already purchased another home out of state (MT) and were moving before the sale of our house in CO. We worked with Ben to make sure everything was left as needed before the move, to avoid issues before the house went on the market. Ben walked us through the process and helped create a "ToDo" list. Because of his hard work and attention to detail, we were able to move out and let Ben do his thing. Ben coordinated and managed (FREE OF CHARGE) an official square footage measurement of the home, (which resulted in finding an additional 55 square feet that lowered the overall price per square foot), Daytime and Golden Hour photos (huge selling point advantage, golden hour photos made the sale!), and brought in an interior design to set up paintings and furniture throughout the home. The house looked so good, I joked about buying it myself haha. I have never worked with a realtor firm that did soooo much, free of charge, to sell a house. The house received 5 offers on the first day listed and we were under contact that evening. We were not totally sure which offer to accept, but through working with Ben and the research that he did with each offeror, we were able to make an educated decision. The house sale closed 30 days later, above market value! Had we not went with PorchLight, I don't think things would have went as smoothly or sold above market. They made the house look great.
