The chicken was tender, and the lamb didn't have that strong smell that sometimes turns me off. What surprised me most was the beef--it was much better than I expected and reminded me of a steak. We came in the late afternoon and perhaps since it was outside of the normal lunch/dinner rush, there was only one person working and had to do all the order taking/cashier and also food cooking/bringing dishes out to the customers. All that being said, it meant that there would be a longer wait for our food. But the food was worth the wait! The plates all come with 2 sides. The hummus (always the obvious first choice!) was great and the pitas were amazing (slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside). The other side we had was just ok - mediterranean salad was not so much a salad but just some veggies (cucumbers/tomatoes/bell peppers). Kefta was tasty, and the chicken kebab was quite soft and not dry at all. Beef skewer was a bit chewy but also flavorful. Also, the rice the plates came with was *chef's kiss* with the flavor and I couldn't get enough of it. I was underwhelmed by the chicken shawarma wrap though. I wanted to like it with all the ingredients. The size was massive (good for sharing unless you're really starving), but it was too much oil inside and felt like a bit mushy overall. I frequent the Santa Ana location for lunch and decided to go try this location with my wife for dinner. Lots of parking in this buzy center, actually lots up front but they are all marked "20 minutes"? Im thinking that was made with the coffee shop in mind (that is no longer there) The food has been consistent every visit and this time was just as awesome. Order at the counter and lots of seating inside and I think a small patio too if I remember right. Friendly staff that make ordering easy. He gave my wife some of the extra details she needed to complete her order. Im getting addicted to the sumac salad and they have a really good one. Excellent hummas and that chicken shawarma is amazing. My wife did the chicken skewers and they are also very good. Tender and tasty. She tried some other sides too and everything was top notch. They offer Turkish coffee here too. Another addiction on the rise for me. It was late (dinner time) but I still had to get one. Yeah I bounced all night but it was worth it. Lamb chops: 9.8/10 (I carried it take out, but I bet fresh it would have been perfect) loved dipping in the garlic sauce and the labneh. Hummus: 10/10 (has a green chili on it that just gives it a great flavor) Labneh: 8/10 (first time trying this! Creamy and yummy, but I realized I could only really dip stuff in it so I probably should have gotten another side) Turshi: 9/10 (love pickled veggies but the olives were a bit bitter!! There was definitely a lot of juicy chicken in there, which was the highlight. It's in a light, almost flour, tortilla wrap, and there are a lot of vegetables in there and dressing, which I found to be a little too much But if you like a lot of vegetables in your wrap, you would be pleased. I love Mediterranean food and am so happy to have Divine in the neighborhood. I've only been once so far and had a great experience. The lamb and chicken were seasoned deliciously and the hummus and garlic sauces were on point with what I grew up eating at Lebanese restaurants in Michigan. I feel like the flavor here is off or the owner is from a different region of the Middle East. Usually I eat middle eastern food in Glendale and Burbank where there's a large Armenian population. Im used to their flavor but this restaurant almost tastes Indian to me. The chicken has some sort of tumeric flavor that I am not used to. The yogurt dips are very fermented which I like but the baba ghanoush was so disappointing. I love babaghanoush more than hummus but this time it was so sour I was caught off guard.
