Out of this world food. Kebab Planet is a new-ish Mediteranian spot in Huntington Beach. I've now had the opportunity to dine here twice and have loved each experience. So far I've tried their chicken gyro, chicken shawarma, and fries. My favorite being the shawarma, which is plated extra large and can easily last you several meals. I decided to stop by for lunch after noticing the grand opening sign and I was pleasantly surprised! Kebab Planet serves up Mediterranean doner sandwiches, boxes, pizzas, and wraps. The menu is fairly simple but the food here is quite tasty! I ordered the Angus Beef Doner sandwich and I was surprised at how big it was when it came out and for the price I paid for it, I feel like you for sure get your money's worth. The meat was plentiful and flavorful and the toppings & sauces included made for an incredible sandwich. I took 2 bites of my wrap/burrito and couldn't stomach it. I normally clean my plate. I picked the meat out not to be wasteful going to slip it into my dog's bowl if he'll eat it? $14 wasted a free meal couldn't get me back. It says grand opening but what an awful wait for small portions. They need to review the value of the beef plate. We ordered a Doner beef plate and chicken plate. They were out of chicken so we had to get 2 beef plates. Then were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait for the beef. We ended up waiting 43 minutes. Pictures show what we got. 2 portions of doner kebab, small order fries, lettuce, cabbage, onion, tomato and yogurt sauce. My major complaint is that the to go menu shows this coming with bread, but we received none. Not sure why all of this was served a la carte when this is the same ingredients for a sandwich. Just very confused. The plate had foil under the food - but that makes no sense given the styrofoam container. Nothing was wet, oily or burning hot so do not understand that either. The new owners did not change any decor, and the fans need a good cleaning. Hole in wall with TV hook ups, wires hanging for video hook up, and they still have old sign for "Salsa Bar" which doesn't exist. Chairs were uncomfortable, especially with the wait. We won't be back. Rather go to The Kebab Shop. read more

Part of my carry out order was missing, even though I was the only customer. I was also charged 10.99 to add chicken to my salad. The chicken shawarma was very dry. The hummus was full of tahini and very mushy. Very disappointed with the food. I went back later to ask for a refund on my missing item, and none of the three employees knew how to process it. The young man there "voided" the item from my ticket, and tried to convince me this was the same as a refund. I insisted on getting cash back. The bread was warm and crusty. It was difficult to eat though and messy since it was so big you couldn't get a good bite and it was topped with yogurt and chili sauce. Great new place on the way to the HB sports complex. Got their döner beef wrap meal for about $16 and change. Wrap was bigger than I thought with fresh fillings on the inside. I got yogurt sauce to go with it. Wrap was great and refreshing with plenty of beef on the inside. Fries were crunchy and hearty. The meal size is a good portion for the price.
