They did have a pretty decent selection of what you'd typically find in gluten-free with a few American twists which included a USA flag branded bottle of Absolut vodka - I didn't find the Duty Free prices to offer value for money here compared to other airports though, the prices weren't really expensive don't get me wrong but especially with the booze, it is often pretty easy to get it for a similar price in a supermarket or other retailer including Amazon in the UK for that price. I didn't find many staff around the store either meaning it was harder to ask questions when needed, although the store did have a good feel to it and was much better than other Duty Frees in terms of feel and layout, service seemed to decline and even price in comparison to Stockholm for example. 3*

I needed a watch and i have been happy with swatch in the past so i went for it. This store is smaller so it felt approachable and the Swatch were on display right in front. They had all styles and prices and in stock. The watch boxes were conveniently located behind the ones on display so u could reach back and help yourself and not wait for a sales clerk, which really speeds up check out. She was super fast and even coreected the time for me so i could wear it out. There are other brands and merchandise and yet no perfume so i could actually breathe for once in a duty- free shop. I may looking on the bright side here, but seriously, it's good for you. You'll get those 10K steps in before being immobile in a seat for hours. There are really good options for food and drink plus an array of airport lounges like the Capital One Lounge which I really liked. There is Eataly for god's sake! How can you complain about any of this? Do you remember what T-4 used to be like? The gates seem to offer good seating with outlets galore and even some lounge chairs that recline if you wish to get some Zs in before that too long time you're about to be suffering in coach.

Be prepared to get some exercise walking from TSA to the gate. I was trying to find Capital One Lounge and got kind of lost. By the time I checked into the Lounge, one of the staff informed me that it was a twenty-minute walk from Lounge to the actual gate. Acquired lots of step walking to the gate then back to find the lounge and then back to the gate to depart. Terminal is gorgeous with lots of eateries and areas to shop but it is definitely a hike of you are further away. Coming back got lost finding the Air Train. Thank goodness someone was able to give me directions. It's like a maze here. Was in one area and had to take escalator and then go up and down to get to Air Train. I will stick with LaGuardia unless there are no direct flights then JFK will do.

AND I just came back from Türkiye where manners are absolutely non existent. That's understandable as of all the construction. Everyone had use arrivals lane and wait on the elevator almost 30 minutes to get to departure level.. I found the airline check in area organized and easy to navigate thru. Now TSA at this terminal is like a Abbot and Costello routine. They seem not be coordinated or can work as a unit. It's never a pre-check line always told is a staffing issue. After 10 years you think they have resolved how rotate or reassign staff based on flight demands. The bathrooms are the worse I have seen. Extremely small stall luggage barely fits. I saw no bidets that most international Asian and Middle East airports have even if domestic. The waiting gate area needs more power ports. They also need replace seating that's worn and peeling. If you want to have world class facilities and be the face of NY or even US they need to go look at Incheon ,Hong Kong,Dubai ,or Singapore as example of a quality and classy terminal. You are not charged for luggage cars, floors are spotless,waiting areas are not plan or blah, and decent shopping and food offerings.

So make sure when booking your flights you know what part of NYC you want to get into. I flew in for the US Open. So this airport is literally minutes from Queens. Headed to Manhattan? Make sure you go to La Guardia. I really liked this airport because it was so convenience clean, and you felt easy easing into New York. Baggage claim was straightforward and I love their duty free shops.
